"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

"I supported Bush in 2000 and 2004 and intellegence [sic] had very little to do with that decision." - Hero

Mitt Romney, introducing his running mate: "Join me in welcoming the next President of the United States, Paul Ryan!"

Rappy's response? "You're lying, gullible ( believing in some BS you heard on msnbc ) or hard of hearing."

"If it's inevitable, relax and enjoy it."

Makes me want to see what he would say if he were to spend the night in prison. And not the prison for tax evaders.

So many gods, so many creeds,
So many paths that wind and wind,
While just the art of being kind
is all the sad world needs.

Quote:

Dr. Richard Dobbins, who works in the emergency department at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.

Dobbins also questioned the need for emergency contraception in rape cases, saying that most women either are not fertile during assault or do not become pregnant because the trauma prompts a hormonal response that prevents ovulation.

In 1995, Republican Rep. Henry Aldridge told the House Appropriations committee:

The facts show that people who are raped — who are truly raped — the juices don't flow, the body functions don't work and they don't get pregnant. Medical authorities agree that this is a rarity, if ever.

You forgot the rest of what Freind said: "The reason, Freind said, is that the traumatic experience of rape causes a woman to "secrete a certain secretion" that tends to kill sperm."

This is what they're TEACHING in some schools: "In my Catholic HS all the girls got that question wrong on the test. Because we were taught that piece of biological wishful thinking."

Just playing the devil's advocate here Kwick, but don't you think that posting these alleged factual statements is like putting the rabid, horrible fringe type folk up on a pedestal and somehow forcing a connect-the-dots issue that anyone who supports the Republicans are also freedom hating, women hating bible-thumping rich old white guys?

Comparatively speaking, Paul Ryan's quoted comment seems exceedingly benign compared to every single quote you followed it up with.

Sure, he solidified his position on the abortion issue, leaving very little wiggle room, but that's his take on it.

"If it's illegal, it's illegal"?????

I know plenty of people in my life who are on both sides of the fence on any issue that the government intrudes upon us who cower in fear and want the book thrown full force at anyone who dares disturb their happy little suburban life.

Every single one of them say the same thing: "If it's illegal, it's illegal"

I'm right there with you.... a lot of things that are illegal should not be illegal, and we have nobody but ourselves to blame that they are now.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I'm Pro-Choice all the way.

I think it's only a monster who would ever abort a child in nearly every case besides rape, but who am I to say that they don't have the right to do it if I don't understand why I have to smoke my cigarettes under blankets in my bedroom closet and pay 8 bucks a pack for the (legal) "substance abuse"?

There's no law against me judging or even hating a woman or couple who would kill an unborn child, and there's no reason why there should ever be a law against them making that disgusting choice.

If there is no god, jokes on the haters. If there is one, well... I hope that they spent all of that extra free time and money the kid would have taken up in their life to help a boat load of other people before they died.

"A government is a body of people, usually notably ungoverned." ~Shepherd Book

WHOZIT

So does this make Bill Clinton a Republican now? He raped a woman in 1979, and don't get me started on the Kennedy's, they kill women.

The Democrats love rapists and men who kill women....and the KKK, remember Sen. Byrd (D) W.V.?

I wish I could find out what percentage on the right, and/or pro-lifers, actually believe that shit. I have no doubt it's not the majority of them, or even a goodly number (I sincerely HOPE!), but how pervasive it is would be interesting to know. They've kept it pretty quiet, but the mentality it represents kind of fascinates me. I'm sure for many it's a convenient rationalization for their consciences, but how many truly believe it? I find it astonishing that it's being TAUGHT in schools--put that together with the only "out" they're given--abstinence--and that THAT is taught in schools, and boy, you're just begging for unwanted pregnancies. Isn't ignorance a wonderful thing?
