Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Ever feel like the true story of the republicans is hard to get out there? Mittens and Bain destroying families to satisfy his greed, Ryan's extremes on the economy, Medicare and abortion ... all getting swallowed up into this big, muffling fog of ... boring ...

I think it's a tactic, and a fairly astute one, and it's aimed at the middle-agers and above.

For young people, happiness is excitement. For old people, it's contentment. And here we are in the summer of our discontent. This is an era of hanging on as best you can. To counter that and attract the less-than-youthful voters you don't need excitement. You don't need drama. You don't need hope. You REALLY don't need change. You need boring. Boring can be mistaken for steady. Boring can look like calm. Boring can be portrayed as capable. Boring means you are one of us.

Mittens has got the batshit crazy religious whack-job birther racists anti-global warming militarists sewn up. It's not like they're going to vote for anyone else.

What he needs is the rest of the voters. So - PSSST! Paul Ryan - that crazy stuff you spout? Ixnay on that itshay. And Romney? It's OK to take a long time off after the convention. Avoid controversy at all costs. Avoid hope. Don't even TRY to get people excited. Everyone must sleeeeeep ... SLEEEeeeeeepppp ...

It'll be boring at the DNC Convention also, the MSM will be bizzy kissing Democrat ass, and my guess "Occupy Charlotte" will be as big a dud as "Occupy Tampa" was.

The good news for you libs is no matter how dull it is, the MSM will call it the greatest convention in the history of political conventions.

EVERY speech will be a gem and they'll say (at MSNBC) that Barry gave the greatest speech of his life, and Chris Matthews will get caught in a Motel 6 with Jay Carney and a goat.

Bain destroyed no families. Ryan's plan is far from 'extreme', as it is needed, due to the 15 trillion dollars in debt this nation is facing, the theft of 700 + BILLION dollars from Medicare by Obama... yeah

Boring is good. But lying, for the Demorats, appears to be where all the fun is at.

Funny that Ryan wants to "steal" that same 700+ billion, only he wants to turn around and give it to his sugardaddy Mitt so he can pay less than one percent in taxes.

Rappy's response? "You're lying, gullible ( believing in some BS you heard on msnbc ) or hard of hearing."

Complete and 100% pure, nonsensical fantasy. Same as always.

Isn't it funny how others got the message from the masters and little Rappy and Zit were left out of the loop - again? I wonder if it hurts them to be so unimportant that no one ever even THINKS to put them in the know - or if they are so freaking stupid they don't even idealize they’re less than dog poop on the PNC's shoe?

I don't NEED to be fed my information, to be " put in the know ", by a benevolent overlord.

Masters ? Guess what... I'm no puppet on a string. Unlike you, it seems.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Hmmm... interesting point. Obama got elected by getting a huge share of the youth vote. Mitt might just get elected by disappearing.

Still, I have no problem with the idea of Mittens getting elected. It would be a great lesson for those willing to learn, once they get dunked in the fry-oil again.

Believe me, I work in security - I know all too well just how annoying "excitement" can be.
And I HATE excess paperwork, hate it, hate it, hate it...

But yanno, police in general seem to have forgotten the Peelian Principle that the success of preventing crime and disorder is not measured by visible and public sideshows, but by the LACK of them.
Eff the credit, eff the glory, better that the folk here never know just how much work goes into making sure nothing "interesting" ever happens around here, and so long as we get paid, well...

I guess that goes for politics too, if you're doing your job RIGHT, the public barely knows you even exist.
All the public figures we hold up and laud in history, yanno, they wouldn't be so prominent if at some point they or their administration hadn't fucking bungled the job.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

My gawd, he actually BOUGHT the "$700 million" bullshit!?! That shocks even ME! He can actually ignore that the IDENTICAL amount is right there in the Ryan Plan??? That is truly incredible, even for Raptor!

I'll bet he buys into the GM Plant thing, too...scary as hell that there are people out there as TOTALLY blind and brainwashed as him. Mind control is alive and well, obviously.

Just wow.
