Rappy sometimes if you woud read you would not make yourself look like an idiot...well at least not as fast. From the article cited: "Each year between 12 and 20 people are convicted of voter fraud in Wisconsin - a state with 3.4 million registered voters, said Reid Magney, a spokesman for the state Government Accountability Board. Typically, those convictions are for felons who voted while on probation or parole before they had regained the right to do so, Magney said. Put another way, the convictions are of voters who improperly voted on their own, not for any kind of ballot-stuffing or an organized ring committing large-scale fraud, Magney said. Local, state and federal authorities and prosecutors have examined the issue without unearthing widespread fraud here." I do not fear God, I fear the ignorance of man. A warning to everyone, AURaptor is a known liar. ...and now a Fundie! http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=53359

Quote:The Justice Department on Thursday was reviewing a request from Virginia Democratic lawmakers to launch an inquiry into a firm that hired a worker who allegedly destroyed voter registration applications. Congressmen Jim Moran, Bobby Scott and Gerry Connolly on Wednesday asked Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate a Republican-hired firm, Pinpoint, amid allegations of voter fraud. A Pinpoint employee, Colin Small of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, who was brought on to conduct voter registration drives, faces local criminal charges in Rockingham County, Virginia. He is charged over allegations that he threw eight completed voter registration forms into the trash. He also is charged with obstruction of justice. ..... Pinpoint and another company, Strategic Allied Consulting, were hired by Republicans to conduct voter registration drives.More at http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/25/politics/virginia-fraud-claim/index.html may be "just" voter registration, but without being registered, you can't vote. And I'll see your 12-20 withQuote:Late on Election Day, robocalls targeted more than 100,000 Democratic households, telling voters to “relax” and not bother voting because Dems were going to win. It was one of the most blatant examples of GOP voter-suppression tactics in a long while. Fortunately, those responsible got caught. Yesterday, a jury convicted the Republican ringleader.Quote:Paul E. Schurick, the 2010 campaign manager for former Maryland governor Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., was convicted Tuesday by a Baltimore jury of four counts stemming from a robocall that prosecutors said was intended to suppress the black vote. The call, which Schurick acknowledged authorizing, was placed on Election Day to 112,000 voters in Baltimore and Prince George’s County, the state’s two largest majority-African American jurisdictions. Recipients were told by an unidentified woman that they could “relax” because Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) had been successful. Fortunately, other members of the former Republican governor’s team will also stand trial for their role.More at http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal/2011_12/conviction_in_gop_votersuppres033951.php I don'[t find anywhere in the article originally cited where it says DEMOCRATS were responsible for the fraud, or that it was Democratic voters who voted fraudulently. These two, however, are specifically committed by Republicans, and the people in question have been CONVICTED. 'Nuff said. Tit for tat got us where we are today. If we want to be grownups, we need to resist the ugliness. If we each did, this would be a better reflection on Firefly and a more welcome place. I will try.
