Oh goody, a parking spot for my LBV2 camera drone.

Yes, our backwater. podunk little apartment complex security team has a UAV.

Ours is a Ladybird V2 flown via 2.4Ghz, with a TX5805 camera unit transmitting on 5.8Ghz to a Devo F4 controller with LCD viewscreen clocking in at a range of about 100 yards and flight time of 8 minutes per battery, which can be quick-changed at need.

Unfortunately, it's not very stealthy, that angry bug whine is very distinctive, but on the plus side it totally FREAKS OUT the neighborhood yahoos when they hear that little bastard coming.
Given I can port the video from the F4 to a DVR, they've got some reason to!

Alas that the big bad daddy is held up in customs, cause operating an aerial drone here is very challenging, especially at night, so we've opted for a ground based unit instead, which was oddly difficult to get.

When it gets here imma add an extra servo hooked up to a piezo buzzer 130db siren and some flashing lights, which'd be great for scaring the absolute crap out of creepers...

The property owner (NOT known for his sense of humor) thinks this all is absolutely hilarious, and suggested I should get a flyer that "looks like a UFO" instead of one that looks like a bug, heh.
The local punks, on the other hand, seem to be in mortal dread, so it's all good.

I always pictured drones much bigger...with missles.

Because this whole concept just NEEDS some friggin Wagner.

Funny little bit of biz, earlier today I was doing a bit of flight practice (cause flying one of these beasties is way, way, WAY harder than it looks!) and some nimrod comes in here and blatantly starts casing our place, that damn royal blue crown vic, AGAIN, after we already verified their excuse of supposedly visiting a certain resident is a lie....

And well, my *intention* was to land the quadcopter on the hood of their car as a stern warning, but instead I kinda richocheted it off their windshield, with some serious velocity behind it, causing them to panic and burn rubber towards the exit before I brought it back around for another pass... heh heh heh.

Man, that LBV2 is pretty damn fast when you get it going - you COULD knock someone silly with it if they were an imminent threat and you wanted to.

America loves a winner!

Surveillance drones - just as we saw in Dark Angel , over a decade ago.

Love it!

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

Maybe more privately owned drones and fewer George Zimmerman's? If a drone had been following Martin the police likey would never had been called when they saw him walk into his fathers house. And if they had been called they would have checked and would have been on their way in a couple of minutes.
