The Tea Party, Conservatives, and Republicans are terrorists, extremists, radicals, stupid, suicide bombers, and madmen who hate women, children, and old people. Maxine Waters, the Socialist, wants them all to go to Hell. David Plouffe tweeted today that Republicans are economic terrorists. Mr. Obama said Republicans are the ones who want 100% of everything they have asked for.

But is that true?

Forget what you think you know from this rhetoric and consider the following.

Who is grabbing power for the Executive Branch of government? Who is disregarding Congress and the Separation of Powers? It isn’t John Boehner or the Tea Party or Mike Lee or Ted Cruz. They all want freedom for the American people.

Who is building this incredible database on every American through Organizing for America (OFA)? It is the same man who is collecting our personal and financial information through the IRS; spying on us through the NSA; and collecting detailed information on our children thanks to Common Core. It is the man who is targeting conservatives, using the IRS. It is the man who is spying on reporters.

Obama said, ”The Affordable Care Act is a law that passed the House. It passed the Senate; the Supreme Court ruled it constitutional. … and it is settled,” said Obama. However, Obama has violated the law 17 times – illegally. He delayed the employer mandate, the cap on out of pocket expenses, income verification, and endless numbers of deadlines specific to the law. He added almost 1500 waivers, many for his friends. SCOTUS ruled twice that the president cannot delay, amend or repeal parts of laws but he did. He ignores SCOTUS too.

What goes around comes around. Obama and the Dems will learn that in 2014 as they did in 2010.

Yanno, it would be helpful if your title made the least little bit of sense, but it doesn't.

The Tea Party represents 8% of the US population* and associated rightwing nutcases (evangelicals who aren't TPers, neocons etc) maybe boost that up to 30%... and I'm being very, very generous here. More people voted for House Democrats than Republicans (who represent less than half of the population) and yet, because of Republican gerrymandering, Republicans have an outsized representation in Congress. And the TP... on a base of (let me repeat) 8% of the population... is determining Congressional activity?

You can hardly call that being "silenced". Well YOU could, because you're an idiot, but only paranoids with delusions of grandeur would feel that way.

The Tea Party is a diminishing bag of loose nuts and bolts. The more extreme they get, and the more real pain they bring to their fellow citizens, the more their numbers will diminish. Nobody needs to spy on you because you're committing suicide anyway. So- GOOD JOB! Keep up the good work!

Posted to the predictions thread.

Hey Jongs, could you keep posting that PN style photoshopped image of O destroying the world? I like the obvious visual reminder of how far over the edge you've gone. Saves me the time I might waste figuring it out from reading your posts. Damn girl, you are out there, and not even trying to hide it!

Someday I'm going to hunt down some posts from that time of lucidity you had around 2009-ish, just to show the contrast to what you're become now.

Funny thing is, FREM said exactly that when Bush was aiming for Unitary Executive. And it's true: Obama is simply following in Bush's footsteps.

Mmm, another keeper, thanx Magons, I would have missed that one.

Yeah, they really represent "America"...right.

Just 8% Now Say They Are Tea Party Members

Views of the Tea Party movement are at their lowest point ever. Only eight percent (8%) now say they are members of the Tea Party, down from a high of 24% in April 2010 just after passage of the national health care law.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 30% of Likely U.S. Voters now have a favorable opinion of the Tea Party. Half (49%) of voters have an unfavorable view of the movement. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/general_politi

As to "support" from the American people, only 22% of all Americans even SUPPORT the Tea Party:
Quote:

Tea Party Support Dwindles to Near-Record Low

Fewer Americans (22%) now describe themselves as supporters of the Tea Party movement than did at the height of the movement in 2010, or even at the start of 2012. U.S. support for the Tea Party is at a low ebb at a time when key issues of concern for the movement -- funding for the Affordable Care Act and raising the U.S. debt ceiling -- are focal points in Washington. http://www.gallup.com/poll/164648/tea-party-support-dwindles-near-reco

There are lots of important percentages in American politics, from the 99 percent to the 47 percent, but this week's most important is the 22 percent. If you're struggling to understand why Republicans seem wedded to a confrontation over Obamacare that could lead to a government shutdown or debt default, or why Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas says the American people are with him, despite the fact that most Americans say the GOP should just accept the fact that Obamacare is law of the land, or that voters oppose shutting down the government over the law by a three-to-one margin, look no further than the 22 percent. Thanks to gerrymandering, many Republicans are more worried about a primary challenge than losing in a general election—until that changes, the 22 percent will command outsize importance relative to their size.

Nothing has made that more clear than the fight over government funding this week. While most Americans—and even most Republicans, in some polls—oppose the confrontation strategy, the 22 percent can't get enough of it. Take a Pew survey from this week, which asked respondents if lawmakers should "stand by their principles, even if the government shuts down," or "compromise, even on a budget you disagree with." Overall, a clear majority—57 percent of Americans—said compromise. But among tea-party-leaning Republicans, 71 percent said lawmakers should stand on principle. Just 20 percent of the tea partiers want legislators to compromise.

But here's the most revealing bit: Non-tea-party Republicans favored compromise by a margin of 54 percent to 38 percent. In other words, Cruz isn't just at odds with most Americans, he's at odds with most Republicans.

While a majority of Republicans support defunding Obamacare, a near-majority oppose threatening a government shutdown over the issue 48 percent to 36 percent. Not surprisingly, independents and Democrats oppose the strategy by far-larger margins. In fact, the only demographic unit that favored the confrontation strategy is those who identify with the tea party; they supported the shutdown approach by a 54 percent majority.

This helps explain why Cruz took to Rush Limbaugh's airwaves just minutes after ending his Senate floor speech to slam his GOP colleagues as cowardly defeatists. And it helps explain which "American people" Ted Cruz is listening to when he says that he's heeding the will of the people. He's listening to the 22 percent, not the 59 percent who say he shouldn't shut down the government to defund Obamacare. http://www.nationaljournal.com/politics/the-tea-party-we-are-the-22-pe
rcent-20130926

Of course, they're not TALKING about defunding Obamacare to open the government up again; they've given up on that. So what's their next demand for giving us back our government--you know, that government they hate, they wanted to shut down, they shut down, and now blame THE LEFT for the "horrible action" of shutting down? Does anyone know? Do THEY even know?

Oh yes, I thought about pointing this out, but it's clear that rational discussion goes no where with the present incarnation of jongs. The cognitive dissonance is strong in that one.

Could also point out that no one is trying to silence the TP. The rabble can shout all they want. What they do not have a right to do is shove their will on the rest of us. Jongs and his crowd seem to think the TP has some special right to force the majority of this country to live according to the insanity of this small group.

I think that's what blows my mind more than anything; they actually think it's right for them to FORCE the vast majority of Americans to do what they want, and keep railing about how "the American people" are behind them, when they're a minority, have always been a minority, and are becoming an even smaller minority. It's just insane...

Let's put that right up there with "We represent the American people who want to do away with Obamacare" and "We will Shut Down Government to Repeal Obamacare"

Out of the 200-some odd House Reps there are some 30-40 Right Wing Tea Party reps who represent less than 10% of the country, yet they are holding the rest of the country hostage to get their way.

"If I can't win fair and square, then I'm taking the ball and going home."

The Tea Party is throwing a tantrum because they can't get enough votes to repeal Obamacare, otherwise known as the ACA, which, by the way, seems to be working wonders in Massachusetts. So why not repeal Romneycare in that state? Could it be that it's working just fine and the state hasn't sank into the ocean.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/100723888

But please, let's NOT silence the Tea Party. We need every voice in this country, no matter how glaringly obtuse they sound, and no matter how absurd the reasoning. Congress, and only Congress, can effectively Shut Down the government because they control the purse strings. This Shut Down has been in the planning stages by the House Republicans for months, hell it was even certain Tea Party candidates slogan. So now, suddenly, "Oh, it was the president's fault" And there are those who believe that crap.

The Tea Party fell from the highest "Dumb" tree in the country and hit every branch on the way down, and they expect the rest of us to "see" it their way. But a funny thing happened on the way to the Shut Down, suddenly it ain't about Obamacare anymore.

Now every single thing that these geniuses shut down is suddenly being funded and re-opened "because it's the right thing to do" - and their feeling the heat from the REAL America. 5% of America approve what the House Republicans are doing. So I say, keep talking guys, you're doing fine!
