Quote:

Republican leaders piled blame on freshman Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, for failed tactics that forced a U.S. government shutdown, but Cruz remained defiant.

"Have a little bit of self-restraint," former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush told ABC's "This Week," in a message to Cruz. "It was a mistake to focus on something that couldn't be achieved."

"Shutting down the government, in my view, is not conservative policy," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said on CBS's "Face the Nation." "There will not be another government shutdown. You can count on that."

Even ultra-conservative former Republican Majority Leader Trent Lott, who himself got cross-wise with the Senate and had to resign his leadership position, said about the right-wing insurgents, “You roll them. I do think we need stronger leadership, and there’s got to be some pushback on these guys who think they came here with all the solutions.”

"It will not happen," Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told CNN's "State of the Union." "The American people will not stand for another one of these things."

"Let's face it -- it was not a good maneuver," Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, a supporter of the deal that ended the showdown, told The New York Times. "And that's when you've got to have the adults running the thing."

"The tactic of defunding the government unless [President Barack Obama] repealed his signature issue was as poorly designed as Obamacare itself, almost," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told "Face the Nation."

Cruz told "State of the Union" he was not bothered, even "remotely," by the growing criticism by senators of his own party. "I would do anything and I will continue to do anything I can to stop Obamacare," Cruz told ABC's "This Week," when asked whether he would rule out pushing the government to the brink of another shutdown in January unless the Affordable Care Act is defunded. http://www.alipac.us/f9/gop-surrender-caucus-hits-sunday-shows-critici
ze-cruz-290555/
]

So apparently, he'll happily do it again. Now a petition is circulating calling upon the Senate to expel Ted Cruz to prevent another shutdown:
Quote:

Senator Ted Cruz’s leading role in leveraging the government shutdown based on his irresponsible and dangerous agenda in an attempt to defund the ACA has inflicted reprehensible devastation upon the American people and the nation’s economy. His obvious lack of remorse for his actions with his subsequent messages that he “would continue to do anything he can, to stop the train wreck that is Obamacare” is further reason to expel this senator before he paves the way to yet another destructive government shutdown.”

It could be done, under the Constitution, but of course it won't go anywhere, it's just a sign of how angry people are about what Cruz and his buddies have put us through. It’s not just Democrats who are furious with Tea Party Republicans for their actions. Independents and even some Republicans are too. Ted Cruz and Tea Party members of the House had their chance to show that they could govern responsibly and they failed. They failed because they threatened to harm America and American people if they didn’t get all of their demands met. And now that they’ve failed, they still want to do it all again.

Really ? As ObamaCare and it's joke of a website are 100 x's worse than anyone had even feared, there's some brain dead folks still wanting to place blame on Cruz ?

No hope, at all.

What a little teeeeeeeny, tiny world he lives in. From around the web:

"Ted Cruz is the best thing to happen to the Democratic Party since George W. Bush’s second term"

"New GOP 11th commandment — Whoever shall yell at Obama shall briefly be considered a serious candidate for office."

“After 16 days the government shutdown is over. Right now a devastated Ted Cruz is filibustering a squirrel on the lawn of the Capitol building.”

"Republicans have done nothing but visit monuments with veterans since the government opened, right?"

"Tea Party Reality: If we hit ourselves on the heads harder, these hammers will break."

"Democrats think the glass is half full. Republicans think the glass is theirs."

"George W. Bush — He kept us safe from slow websites."

Hysterical...he really thinks anything sux said about me means anything? He hasn't read the entire THREAD of what sux put up? Duh...??

He could easily google all the jokes/cartoons I put up for himself to find out where they come from...I know, snarking doesn't take any brains or effort. They came from Twitter, Facebook, Jimmie Kimmel Live (from Newsmax), CafePress, Bossmedia and others. It's super easy to look up "Tea Party cartoons" or "Republican Jokes" and find tons--you can do the same for Democrats, once you learn how to use the internet....

Niki - unlike you, I use the internet for good, not evil. I look for knowledge to improve humanity, not to debase it or seek out the lowest common denominator.

But clearly, yours is a lesser audience, and so you act accordingly.

So?

Google "petition to impeach obama", or "petition to impeach boehner". or "petition to impeach feinstein", or "petition to impeach reid".

Lots of silly petitions out there.

Strangely enough, seems no one wants to impeach V.P. Biden, unless its in a package with Pres. Obama.

A handy go-to (for idiots) when you have nothing to actually counter with, not the wit to come up with anything clever.

Oh, gawd, that is...what is it, "crassic"?

Back in 2012, prediction about the "lowest common denominator":
Quote:

Joe Scarborough on Friday again berated the 2012 Republican field, decrying them for pandering to "the lowest common denominator in a way that dooms conservatives from making gains next year in a race for the White House."

The Morning Joe host also compared Tea Party conservatives to the John Birch Society: "...For the record, America, these are the people that Bill Buckley kicked out of the conservative movement in the mid-1960s."

Yup, he pretty much called it. And they're WORSE now!
Quote:

The Tea Party's corporate controllers encourage their prejudices as part of a "look elsewhere" strategy that allows them to blame the poor, the unemployed, unions, minorities, immigrants, non-"Christians", pro-choice defenders, gays, "liberals" (etc., etc., etc.) for all their problems - the same appeal to the basest instincts and the desire for easily-identifiable "enemies" the lowest common denominator could feel "superior" to that Hitler and others of his ilk used in their rise to power.

Thankfully the modern American public in general is more informed and sophisticated in their understanding than societies of the past, and support for the Tea Party has dwindled considerably.

Yes, it has, and continues to dwindle virtually daily.

Or as one person said:

"These people are so dense they don't even realize that the original Boston Tea Party was to protest the fact that the West Indies Tea Company, a precursor of modern multinational corporations, was getting preferential tax treatment from the Crown, as compared to normal citizens. The same thing exists today, as most large, multinational corporations pay a far lower effective tax rate than hard-working common individuals. Of course, these numbskull Teabaggers are OK with that. They are incredibly dense, stupid people with no understanding of American history."

I said it before and I'll say it again. His aim was to disrupt government and attempt to destroy the democratic process as we know it.

Cruz is 100% right, and the ACA is going to be delayed. Just like he was asking for in the first place.

Soon enough, Americans will see the disaster that is O-Care, and come around.

And YOU can't accept the fact that these recalls only work when Conservatives are behind them, like happened in Colorado

Wooo hooo !

"Soon enough, Americans will see the disaster that is O-Care, and come around."

Ok, I'll bite. What exactly is wrong with the ACA, do tell.
If Ted Cruz and company are so smart and know what's good for America, why don't they offer to fix it? And if it's such a train wreck that it can't be saved, then why not offer a alternative solution.

The health care system has been in free fall for years, some smart American can surely figure out just what it needs to fix it and right the ship. And please don't offer up your usual rhetoric. Can the Tea Party actually do something positive and create a plan to reign in the high cost of health care? Nothing more, nothing less. No bullshit. Just, "here's a plan" and roll up our sleeves.

Does Cruz have a plan? Or is he just a big windbag blustering and hamming it up for the news cameras. Has he passed one bit of legislation this year, or any other year, for that matter. What has he done, aside from bore us to death with Defund Obamacare? Anything? He is a one-trick pony and has blown his load. Go ahead, come up with one piece of legislation.
