Quote:

Bernard Goldberg joined Bill O’Reilly Monday night to address what he believes is a “potentially fatal split” in the Republican party’s immediate future. He said that if the tea party keeps rejecting anyone who isn’t basically Ted Cruz for the 2016 presidential nomination, the party’s going to be in some big trouble and invite in a strong Democratic victory.

O’Reilly framed the fight as a “classic moderate Republican versus hard-right Republican” feud, and Goldberg rejected the “ideological rigidity” of people who will sit on their hands and refuse to vote for a Republican presidential nominee if they aren’t sufficiently conservative enough. And this is what led Goldberg to accuse these tea partiers of being the real RINOs in the GOP.

“As far as the tea partiers are concerned, anybody to the left of Ted Cruz is a RINO… but you know what? The real RINOs are the real people in the tea party and on the hard right, because they have made it clear over and over again that their allegiance is not to the Republican party, but to their particular brand of conservatism, so they’re the RINOs.”

He also warned that if someone like Cruz gets the nomination, “every registered Democrat will vote, and that’s a recipe for a Democratic victory.” http://www.mediaite.com/tv/bernie-goldberg-to-oreilly-tea-partiers-are

And Glenn Beck immediately proves him right:
Quote:

Glenn Beck: Why Bother Voting at All if GOP Keeps Pushing Christies and Romneys on Us?

Beck said as far as he’s concerned, he’s not going to bother voting in 2016, even sending a message to his future self in case he changes his mind. "I will not vote for another Republican like Chris Christie or Mitt Romney. I will not vote. I will skip it. I will not cast my vote for that!” http://www.mediaite.com/online/glenn-beck-why-bother-voting-at-all-if-

Aowww wouldn't it be loverly...I hope ALL his tea party buddies are listening and make the same vow...

As in, if the majority of Republicans in this country choose someone not hard-right enough for this minority of obstructionist, no-compromise maniacs, they don't bother to vote at all, but take their ball and go home. Like the old joke about "1,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean", it would be a good beginning...

JONGSSTRAW

Old Bernie may be on to something here. The RINO label stigma used to be a bad thing. Now it may be a badge of honor. What is the Republican Party today anyhow? ... John McCain? ... John Boehner? ... Mitch McConnell? ...Reince Priebus? I can't stand any of those guys. I see 'em on tv and I wanna puke. I'm a Conservative. I got no other choice than to pull the "R" lever. The millions of Conservatives that chose to stay home instead of voting for Romney bit off their nose to spite their face. I hope they're happy.

A badge of honor won't get anyone elected...and do you really think most of us on the left out here jumped up and down about the choices WE were offered? In a huge nation with so many diverse attitudes, the best one can hope to do is support the "least worst" and work to make them better. That will most likely never change in this nation, no politician represents everyone, which is why compromise is the only way to move forward. DEMANDING things be your way or you'll obstruct everything just hurts everyone, and refusing to vote if you can't get exactly what you want in elections leaves you out in the cold. People who haven't the intelligence to realize that deserve to be left out in the cold, in my opinion.
