Just saw yahoo headline that Adrianne Palicki is joining the cast as Mockingbird.

Apparently she has kicked butt before, but I'm not sure if I've see that.

Anybody know if Mockingbird was a previously created role, or just done for the series?

I love the smurfs!

She was Wonder Woman in the TV pilot that wasn't picked up a few years ago and she was also in the second GI Joe movie.
I think she'll do pretty good on the show. Mockingbird is an established character, IIRC.

eta: a quick google shows that in the comics, she was a SHIELD Agent that turned into a costumed hero and was Hawkeye's love interest.

Mockingbird is the perfect character for Agents of SHIELD. She's not a super over the top hero. They should be able to do her pretty well on a TV budget. I like it.

Looks like she will show up with SHIELD on 14 October, just 10 days before she also shows up in John Wick, which itself looks like practically an all-star ensemble, or at least well-known cast list.

I liked her first appearance so far. I thought her over the top hard nosed Hydra cover was a little ridiculous, but as soon as she dropped the act her character seemed much better.

I liked a theory I read online. We kinda lost track of her at one point in that episode and the theory is that she is already brainwashed by Hydra and during that time they activated her programming and sent her off to SHIELD as a spy. I could see her breaking Ward out before the team catches on and gets her deprogrammed. Betray and spy vs spy stuff is always fun IMO.
