Sam Harris Douglas Murray explain the Refugee crisis

Billionaire financier George Soros has warned that the European Union is on the "verge of collapse" Merkel's open door policy has brought 'chaos' to Europe, claims George Soros as German leader is blamed for Brexit over her failure to deal with migrant crisis

George Soros, who was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, benefited greatly from his father’s decision.

Allegedly, in 1944, 14-year-old George Soros went to work for the invading Nazis. It is said that until the end of the war in 1945, he worked with a government official, helping him confiscate property from the local Jewish population.

In an 1998 interview with 60 Minutes, Soros described the year of German occupation as “the happiest time in my life.”

George Soros Felt No Guilt When Nazi's Took Jews In Homeland

Open Society Foundations (OSF) sees Europe’s refugee crisis as an opportunity - a chance to influence immigration policies worldwide and collaborate with other wealthy donors.

In a memo called ‘Migration Governance and Enforcement Portfolio Review’, OSF states that the immigration crisis in Europe is the ‘new normal’.

If might not be Holocaust guilt. After World War II, 14 million ethnic Germans were expelled from the eastern territories of Germany and homelands outside the former German Empire. The accommodation and integration of these Heimatvertriebene in the remaining part of Germany, in which many cities and millions of apartments had been destroyed, was a major effort in the post-war occupation zones and later states of Germany.

Besides the 14,000,000 German-speaking refugees moving to Germany, there are the Turks in Germany, numbering 1,506,113. There are more Turks in Germany than Syrians and there was much bitching about Turks, too, as there was about all those Germans who got booted out of their countries of birth and were made to walk to Germany after WWII because everybody in Europe hated Germans. Even Germans did not much like those foreign Germans. Millions of Germans died on the long walk after WWII. Mostly they died because people along the way would not help them live. Sometimes the Germans were murdered as revenge for WWII.

How does this even relate to Germany's migrant crisis? Do you think that there is some subterranean empathy among modern-day Germans towards rootless, despised migrants because of three-generations-ago history of a small part of the German population?

Yes, I know that people in "the South" STILL speak of the "War of Aggression", it IS possible to carry a burning generational memory, but those feelings are constantly stoked by visible reminders of the South's war and defeat: The Confederate flag, monuments (to General Lee, Davis, etc.) memorabilia and merchandise.

I'll tell you, in all of the discussions that I've listened to or read in the German press, these German migrants have not come up once. Not once.

There ARE, however, constant reminders of the German's role in the holocaust, from Holocaust memorials to the banning of Mein Kampf. It is still a great part of today's German culture. So if you're looking for a source of guilt among the modern German population, this is more likely.

---

But I'm not sure that the EU's migrant crisis is rooted in German Holocaust guilt specifically. Yes, the migrant crisis was precipitated by Merkel's open-arms invitation to refugees, but MANY EU nations with no Holocaust guilt whatsoever have migrant crises of their own, especially Greece and Italy (as the landing-place of most open-water migrants) and also France (from its African colonial past) and Sweden (as a result of its liberal policies and hubris* taken to extreme.)

I suspect that the decisions made about migrants were made by politicians who used popular guilt (of various causes) to push policies that catered to the interests of other nations (not their own).

* Swedes are rightfully proud of their culture of benevolence and tolerance. However, they made the mistake of thinking that immigrants who settled in Sweden would find that Swedish culture SO wonderful that they would immediately drop their previous culture and their own religious intolerance and adopt Swedish ways. Now THAT'S hubris!

And one wonders why there is such a push-back to the collective "White Guilt" that has been plaguing people in this country since Obama took office?

The decision to take in tens to hundreds of thousands of Middle Eastern immigrants - like MOST decisions - was not made by "the people", but by national leaders who have stronger ties to the USA or the EU or NATO than they have to their own nation. Guilt is a way of getting people to accept a decision that doesn't benefit them, because if you're "guilty" you clearly need to be "punished" or make "reparations".

The NATO countries are guilty to the extent that they willingly participated, and KEEP participating, in the destruction of various Middle East nations. But some nations' participation was merely nominal, so they don't "deserve" the punishment of having to accept refugees created by a clusterfucked American/ NATO policy.

I keep hearing that the migrant crisis is rooted in the Arab wars against Israel.
Whenever the Arabs war against Israel, the Israelis always win, and then the Arab war-makers whine to the European nations that they should get back the land that they lost in their defeat, and they get back the land every time, and then they also negotiated terms with those nations to provide migrant relief, allowing Muslim migration without integration, into each of the countries now besieged by migrant crisis.
I forget if this was largely done in 1949, or 1967, or other years to start with.
