You can get it on sale regularly on GOG.com and Steam for about $5. One of the beginning ships is somewhat Firefly shaped.

It allows you to replace all the in game music with custom music. So of course it now opens to a favorite theme.

Had a lot of fun playing it. You don't have to be a jet jockey to play it. Controls are easy. Saves automatically each time you dock at a space station.
