"Sending A Wave", a UK based Firefly themed Podcast just posted its 164th and last podcast. Sending A Wave began in 2006. Anyone else here follow it?

Sad. They couldn't wait for the books to come out this October?? They might have actually had something new to talk about...

I've never heard a podcast of any kind. I can't stand to listen to people speak without seeing them as well, it gives me a migraine. Can't stand for people to read aloud to me either. Call that a side effect of too much religiosity as a wee one...

Sending A Wave Podcast Shuts Down

Yes; that is correct. The time has come at last to make planetfall and shut off the engines.

When the idea for a UK podcast was first floated in a pub off of Leicester Square waaaaaay back in 2006, and then a posting on the British Browncoat fansite, cantstopthesignal.co.uk, I never thought for a second that I would still be doing the show in 2018 some 11 and a half years later.

Unfortunately, it has become more and more difficult over the last few years to find regular content and I am not in position now to go seek out content as I have been able to in the past. So it is a good time to finish.

I am extremely proud of the achievements of the podcast since its inception and that is due to the strength of the fandom. Sending A Wave’s longevity has been due to its focus on the fandom, and on a personal note, it has been a fabulous journey and I have met and/or spoken with incredible people over the years.

I would also like to thank every single person who became involved with making the show happen for however short or long as without their input, there would have been nothing.

The Browncoat community remains vibrant ( www.fireflyfans.net , www.cantstoptheserenity.com https://fireflypodcast.wordpress.com/ ) and there are lots of regional Browncoat pages on Facebook. I know that every time I attend a convention or similar, I will continue to see Jayne hats, Kaylee layer cake dresses, parasols and browncoats of all ages.

Thank you for giving your time and support to this podcast.

Wendy

It's ironic, innit...The most tech thing ever in the history of humanity is also the thing that is directly responsible for lowering my estimation of humanity...
