I've never wanted to punch a racist so bad in my life.

They were Catholic high school students who came to Washington on a field trip to rally at the March for Life.

He was a Native American veteran of the Vietnam War who was there to raise awareness at the Indigenous Peoples March.

They intersected on Friday in an unsettling encounter outside the Lincoln Memorial — a throng of cheering and jeering high school boys, predominantly white and wearing “Make America Great Again” gear, surrounding a Native American elder.

The episode was being investigated and the students could face punishment, up to and including expulsion, their school said in a statement on Saturday afternoon.

In video footage that was shared widely on social media, one boy, wearing the red hat that has become a signature of President Trump, stood directly in front of the elder, who stared impassively ahead while playing a ceremonial drum.

Some boys in the group wore clothing associated with Covington Catholic High School, an all-male college preparatory school in Park Hills, Ky., near Cincinnati.

The school had advertised that students would attend this year’s March for Life Rally, which took place in Washington on Friday. In a letter to parents, the trip was described as an opportunity for students to live out their faith and demonstrate in support of all life “born and unborn.”

In a statement, the Diocese of Covington and Covington Catholic High School condemned the behavior by the students and extended their “deepest apologies” to the elder, as well as to Native Americans in general.

“This behavior is opposed to the Church’s teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person,” the statement said.

Well that's all fine and good, but who taught these little shits that such racism was OK in the first place?

Their trumptard parents.

FIVE HUNDRED DAMN YEARS. Ain't nothin' changed. Shitty redneck uneducated white boys still shitty.

If I was an adult there at the time, I don't know I would have the patience to just stand there and film that and post for better later. Kudos to whoever did.

Friend on FB posted about this. Another thing for me to sickened by.

The article said that the school if you can call it that has lost its FB page and Twitter account. Good start.

These boys need to be taught a hard lesson and expulsion is a start then I think someone needs to talk to their parents as well as the school. It starts at home but I think the school also has something to do with it.

They weren't there alone. Adults from the school had to have been with them. Heads better roll.

That smirking shithead has already been doxxed.

The schools he's applied to have been notified. I hope he gets all the karma he's got coming.

And a serious ass beating.

The look on that man's face haunts me.

I know they weren't and I hope they do. And those so called teachers can't find other jobs.

Good to know.

Oh, that is beautiful. Karma's a b&tch.

I hope he does and the other little sh&t I saw smiling in the picture as well.

Like a lot of us that elder probably thought those days were long gone.

It upsets me and it as much as it saddens me, makes me glad that my father, my uncles and my aunts aren't alive to see what has happened to their mother's country.

Personally, I think anybody going around wearing a MAGA hat outside of a Trump rally in 2018 or 2019 is probably a huge asshole that is looking for a fight. It's bad enough when you see political bumper stickers on cars, but at least you kind of have an excuse there since that shit is hard to take off.

When you wear a MAGA hat in public now, you woke up and went out the door intending to make a statement. When you dress your kids in one, knowing that it's likely to start a fight, you're 10 times the asshole.

Yeah. These kids should be punished and made an example of. I don't think the internet will disappoint in that regard.

I don't think expulsion is the answer though. Though they do need to be taught a lesson, I don't think that ruining any chance at getting at least a semi-decent education is a good answer.

The only good that would do is ensure a terribly shitty life, likely full of crime and jail time and a lot of pent up hostility that builds up and fucks his head up nice and good. 20 years later with all that hate inside him brewing he might just go kill a innocent native that wasn't guilty of anything other than having the same hue of the guy he did this to.

.....

I actually watched the video in the link and looked at the article before I posted what I wrote above. I'm a little bit surprised...

I think "Mob" is a bit overstated. I think a little shaming is in order for the kids and the parents of the children involved. Maybe some sensitivity course or something. Nothing more than that.

Except for that one kid who gave that evil looking "smarmy douche" smile while staring the old man down. You could almost see a miasma of hate coming off of him. If he's currently not getting mental health help, he should be after this. That kid is going to hurt somebody. Lucky for everyone that he didn't hurt anybody on that day. He's a ticking time bomb though.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

The tuition for that school is almost $9000. What I see is some rich kids, doing what rich-kid bullies do. Like what some of the bullies on this website do. But, bullies will be bullies. They think they're entitled to bully. It's shameful. Shameful.

They need to be taught a lesson, but I think they inherited that "entitlement" from their parents, so who is going to teach it to them?

Ok, there is another video out there with "the truth" about what happened. Extended video and commentary says that these kids were waiting for their bus when the native group approached them, and video seems to support it because the kids are more or less bunched up on stairs steps and the man beating the drum with a few other people are seen walking TOWARDS the kids. According to the commentary, the kids COULDN'T back up because there were stairs and other kids behind them. Also, according to this "the truth" video, the man beating the drum says "Go back to Europe where you came from". The boys are anxious to go home and are chanting "Let's go home".

I guess any event can be made to look like anything, if you choose the right bits and pieces to show. I don't know what happened here, but in this day and age there are probably several videos from several people which cover the "before" and "after" as well as the few minutes that are shown over and over, maybe they can put together a coherent story.

I think I would evaluate whatever comes up on the basis of "who approached who first". There was an incident where a man watching a parade accused a parade marcher of assault, and yet you can clearly see the man watching the parade launch himself off the curb and into the parade so ...??

That is possible but for this kid in the future to kill a Native, he meaning he kid would have to leave the state of Kentucky. There are no reservations there and I doubt you would find many Natives there.

I want these kids and the teachers to all be taught a lesson.

If this went as you posted, then yes, these kids need to be taught a lesson because they were extremely rude (at best) and bullying (at worst), and bullies shouldn't be tolerated. But I would need to know more about the event than I know now. So please provide more info and especially evidence.

Phillips said it was a difficult end to an otherwise great day, in which his group sought to highlight injustices against native people worldwide through marching and prayer. He said his first interaction with the students came when they entered an area permitted for the Indigenous Peoples March.

"They were making remarks to each other ... (such as) 'In my state those Indians are nothing but a bunch of drunks.' How do I report that?" he said. "These young people were just roughshodding through our space, like what's been going on for 500 years here — just walking through our territories, feeling like 'this is ours."

Guy banging drum and singing (I did watch the whole video and Indian guy was walking through the crowd up the steps when several other kids had moved, but it WAS teen who blocked the way), teen stays up in guy's face with with his "I'm an asshole" face on for ten minutes, blocking guy's path instead of just walking away. No matter what was said when, and to whom, teen WAS being a dick. Someone walks up to you on steps you should move away and let them pass.

What I don't understand... is where the actual adults in charge were...and why they allowed this to continue. When the other groups started getting aggressive, why didn't they leave? What idiots were running this show?

In the end, both parties involved will have to deal with the fallout for years, if not decades.

BREAKING: ‘Catholic School Boys’ Were Paid Soros Crisis Actors
https://wearethellod.com/breaking-catholic-school-boys-were-paid-soros

/

It was Soros the whole time!

"Fox News has learned that the kids weren’t the same kids from the High School the press is blaming. Those kids were miles away at the National Cathedral, praying for the souls of millions of aborted minority children around the world. There’s no way they were anywhere near the Lincoln Memorial.

These boys weren’t boys at all. they are college students from NYU who look young and used that to their advantage. They were each paid more than $10K by George Soros companies in the last month for “expenses.” They are all on his payroll this month for another $10k.

The lead kid, whose real name is Ezekiel Wilekenmeyer, isn’t even a real Christian. He’s a Jewish guy in the drama department earning money from a man who used to work for Adolf Hitler, George Stalin, and Leo McGarry. Fox will break the story Monday morning on Fox and friends once they have proof. We’re reporting it now because we all know it’s true, and in today’s climate of fake and junk news, isn’t that what really matters?"

Other teens were taunting him and shooting video in the distance. The elder was identified as Nathan Phillips of the Omaha Tribe. He's a Vietnam veteran.

(CNN)I am providing this factual account of what happened on Friday afternoon at the Lincoln Memorial to correct misinformation and outright lies being spread about my family and me.

I am the student in the video who was confronted by the Native American protestor. I arrived at the Lincoln Memorial at 4:30 p.m. I was told to be there by 5:30 p.m., when our busses were due to leave Washington for the trip back to Kentucky. We had been attending the March for Life rally, and then had split up into small groups to do sightseeing.

When we arrived, we noticed four African American protestors who were also on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. I am not sure what they were protesting, and I did not interact with them. I did hear them direct derogatory insults at our school group.

The protestors said hateful things. They called us "racists," "bigots," "white crackers," "faggots," and "incest kids." They also taunted an African American student from my school by telling him that we would "harvest his organs." I have no idea what that insult means, but it was startling to hear.

Because we were being loudly attacked and taunted in public, a student in our group asked one of our teacher chaperones for permission to begin our school spirit chants to counter the hateful things that were being shouted at our group. The chants are commonly used at sporting events. They are all positive in nature and sound like what you would hear at any high school. Our chaperone gave us permission to use our school chants. We would not have done that without obtaining permission from the adults in charge of our group.

At no time did I hear any student chant anything other than the school spirit chants. I did not witness or hear any students chant "build that wall" or anything hateful or racist at any time. Assertions to the contrary are simply false. Our chants were loud because we wanted to drown out the hateful comments that were being shouted at us by the protestors.

After a few minutes of chanting, the Native American protestors, who I hadn't previously noticed, approached our group. The Native American protestors had drums and were accompanied by at least one person with a camera.

The protestor everyone has seen in the video began playing his drum as he waded into the crowd, which parted for him. I did not see anyone try to block his path. He locked eyes with me and approached me, coming within inches of my face. He played his drum the entire time he was in my face.

I never interacted with this protestor. I did not speak to him. I did not make any hand gestures or other aggressive moves. To be honest, I was startled and confused as to why he had approached me. We had already been yelled at by another group of protestors, and when the second group approached I was worried that a situation was getting out of control where adults were attempting to provoke teenagers.

I believed that by remaining motionless and calm, I was helping to diffuse the situation. I realized everyone had cameras and that perhaps a group of adults was trying to provoke a group of teenagers into a larger conflict. I said a silent prayer that the situation would not get out of hand.

During the period of the drumming, a member of the protestor's entourage began yelling at a fellow student that we "stole our land" and that we should "go back to Europe." I heard one of my fellow students begin to respond. I motioned to my classmate and tried to get him to stop engaging with the protestor, as I was still in the mindset that we needed to calm down tensions.

I never felt like I was blocking the Native American protestor. He did not make any attempt to go around me. It was clear to me that he had singled me out for a confrontation, although I am not sure why.

The engagement ended when one of our teachers told me the busses had arrived and it was time to go. I obeyed my teacher and simply walked to the busses. At that moment, I thought I had diffused the situation by remaining calm, and I was thankful nothing physical had occurred.

I never understood why either of the two groups of protestors were engaging with us, or exactly what they were protesting at the Lincoln Memorial. We were simply there to meet a bus, not become central players in a media spectacle. This is the first time in my life I've ever encountered any sort of public protest, let alone this kind of confrontation or demonstration.

I was not intentionally making faces at the protestor. I did smile at one point because I wanted him to know that I was not going to become angry, intimidated or be provoked into a larger confrontation. I am a faithful Christian and practicing Catholic, and I always try to live up to the ideals my faith teaches me -- to remain respectful of others, and to take no action that would lead to conflict or violence.

I harbor no ill will for this person. I respect this person's right to protest and engage in free speech activities, and I support his chanting on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial any day of the week. I believe he should re-think his tactics of invading the personal space of others, but that is his choice to make.

I am being called every name in the book, including a racist, and I will not stand for this mob-like character assassination of my family's name. My parents were not on the trip, and I strive to represent my family in a respectful way in all public settings.
I have received physical and death threats via social media, as well as hateful insults. One person threatened to harm me at school, and one person claims to live in my neighborhood. My parents are receiving death and professional threats because of the social media mob that has formed over this issue.

I love my school, my teachers and my classmates. I work hard to achieve good grades and to participate in several extracurricular activities. I am mortified that so many people have come to believe something that did not happen -- that students from my school were chanting or acting in a racist fashion toward African Americans or Native Americans. I did not do that, do not have hateful feelings in my heart, and did not witness any of my classmates doing that.

I cannot speak for everyone, only for myself. But I can tell you my experience with Covington Catholic is that students are respectful of all races and cultures. We also support everyone's right to free speech.

I am not going to comment on the words or account of Mr. Phillips, as I don't know him and would not presume to know what is in his heart or mind. Nor am I going to comment further on the other protestors, as I don't know their hearts or minds, either.

I have read that Mr. Phillips is a veteran of the United States Marines. I thank him for his service and am grateful to anyone who puts on the uniform to defend our nation. If anyone has earned the right to speak freely, it is a U.S. Marine veteran.

I can only speak for myself and what I observed and felt at the time. But I would caution everyone passing judgement based on a few seconds of video to watch the longer video clips that are on the internet, as they show a much different story than is being portrayed by people with agendas.

I provided this account of events to the Diocese of Covington so they may know exactly what happened, and I stand ready and willing to cooperate with any investigation they are conducting.

You people get led around by a few minutes of a video clip, and it all gets "interpreted" for you by a CLEARLY biased M$M, and you go ballistic without even trying to find out if the event was reported accurately?

Jeez, no wonder we get into so many "wars of choice". REMEMBER THE LUSITANIA! I mean, really ... learn about it and learn some lessons from it at least. Try not to be so easily stampeded next time. WITHHOLD JUDGMENT FOR AT LEAST A FEW HOURS AND SEEK OUT ALTERNATIVE INFORMATION BEFORE YOU START SWINGING.

*****

Here's an object lesson for you: Before you get all outraged and huffy, ask yourself if there is SOMETHING MISSING from what you're seeing/reading. In this case, it was "before and after" video, and it was also the boy's side of things.

So here'a challenge for any NPR listeners - They report at least four unique stories about Federal government workers/small business owners/farmers who are suffering from the government shutdown, which (in the course of their news cycles) they repeat something like four times a day. They report widely on the frustration that people feel with the situation. But - what is missing from this reportage?

*****

BRENDA: As you know, I think the invasion of the Americas by the Europeans and the subsequent genocide of native Americans was a horrible tragedy that in no way can be recompensed. But we should at least try not to repeat it elsewhere (altho we seem intent on killing an awful lot of foreigners). I think I have more sympathy for native peoples here than most, and Thanksgiving - while it is indeed a day of thanks for harvests safely gathered and for food on the table - should ALSO be remembered as the beginning of the long tragedy for the peoples of North America. But I try not to let my sympathies cloud my objectivity.

As I said: I need to know more about the event than I do, although it's beginning to look (to me) like a horrible misunderstanding of each other's intentions. Thankfully, it didn't turn into a brawl.

‘I said, “No, you are not honoring me”.’

The students who attended the so-called ‘red-face’ party painted their faces red, were bare-chested, and were wearing headdresses, according to Native News Online.

‘We are Hurons and we are doing a ceremony to impregnate women,’ one of the students reportedly told Phillips.

From 1929 until 1991, Eastern Michigan University’s nickname was ‘Hurons,’ who were part of the Iroquoian people that were living along the St. Lawrence River when they were contacted by French explorer Jacques Cartier in 1534.

In the music video from 2012, Phillips plays himself in that he’s a wise Native elder living in a poor neighborhood where authorities are trying to evict people. I doubt that they're reporting this because of any interest in objectivity. More likely, they're thinking about the BIG GIANT DEFAMATION LAWSUIT coming their way (maybe something YOU should be thinking about) from a kid's lawyer. A kid who was not only doxxed and defamed, but who is now currently getting death threats. That lawsuit ... is getting more and more expensive every moment. They needed to stanch the flow of blood. ASAP.

Jeez, folks, your outrage meters are pegged. When you get outraged the moment you see something ... or, worse, you view something just to get outraged ... you don't do your clearest thinking. Slow down for god's sake, turn down the gain knob, take a few moments to reflect on a report's accuracy and completeness and seek out alternative reports and evidence BEFORE the juices start to flow. It's just possible that the reporting is entirely wrong. Or at least partially wrong. And as we know, the media isn't big on accuracy, objectivity, completeness, or context.

Yes, I've seen these so-called "Hebrew Israelites" in my town as well, spouting their hatred - they are assholes - and are largely ignored. Their
modus operandi is to try and incite and provoke.

If that one kid was looking to diffuse the situation, then why did he confront the native American man? Shouldn't he be trying to calm his fellow students?
He clearly was standing almost nose to nose with the elder man. That "look" on
his face said it all. That was not the look of a person trying to diffuse a
situation.

In an interview, the elder native American, was looking to deflect the chanting mob, obviously provoked by the asshole Israelites. The adults should have diffuse the situation instead of giving permission to chant. Obviously
they did not diffuse anything, but they did manage to escalate.

The native American walked right up to the kid. Nose to nose. The kid didn't step forward. So who was "confronting" whom?

Quote:

The "look" on his face was a very uncomfortable smile. By body language, if anyone looked belligerent it was the Native American.

My interpretation at this point is that this was a misunderstanding. The kids didn't understand that the Native (apparently) wanted to walk thru, and the Native didn't understand that he wasn't being "confronted". The best response? If someone had asked for understanding ... "Excuse me, are you angry with me?" the whole situation could have been diffused.

I see precious little of that, here or anywhere. People are way too anxious.

It doesn't help that SOME people are also way too anxious to bully, and nobody seems to want to listen.

Exactly. Outrage and cooling things down works both ways Siggy. That kid and his fellow classmates (plus the adult that gave them permission to "chant")
worked it all wrong. Walk away and ignore, like most level-headed people do.
Those "Israelites" are assholes, plain and simple.

They are there to instigate. Best case scenario, walk away. Everyone else does. But no, the "adult" says "sure confront the assholes" and stand inches away from a man and smirk in a such a manner that instills "goodness and
innocence" - sure.

And before you go off half cocked...I did seek out more info as to why this
student decided to stand there smirking at the native American man. I saw a
report that did describe the instigating "assholes" - the black militant group of men. I also saw an interview with the older gentleman who said he was trying to diffuse the situation with his drumming and chanting.

The way I look at it, one man chanting and drumming for peace is truly
different from 200 boys chanting, screaming and taking off their shirt.
Whoever that adult was that gave permission for those boys to chant must
be questioned. Methinks there's more to it than the reports would suggest.
The truth lies somewhere in between, but no one knows the whole truth except those that were there.

My "reaction" or "outrage" was due solely to the "smirk" on that one kid's
face. I have seen that smirk countless of times in my life, from all manner of people - young and old (mostly young assholes) and all colors. I know what kind of "look" that is. Been there, done that. That is NOT the look of a peacemaker - piece of shit, maybe - but not peacemaker.

So again, you "spoke" without knowing the facts.

This is a KID. He was SMILING. He didn't act out or become aggressive. How could he know that his smile looked like a smirk? Why do we expect mature, thoughtful behavior from a kid?

And did this Native American seriously believe that "drumming" will help calm people down, especially if they don't know WHY he's drumming? Why do we expect greater understanding from a kid than from a mature adult with a lot of experience under his belt? Does the kid deserve to have his life threatened?
