Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Syria was originally a covert (US spooks) Deep State operation, as uncovered by Seymour Hersch in "The Red Line and the Rat Line". "The Red Line and the Rat Line" was first published as a series of articles in (perhaps) The Independent as investigative journalism. I read the articles in that form. But the originals appear to have been scrubbed from the internet (possibly for commercial reasons - to sell the book version).

At this point all I can find are references, sans links.
