The 9/11 commission declared that there were "deep institutional failures in our government going back many years" aka Bureaucracy. The commission also said, with a strait face, that they want to appoint a new "Cabinet-level national director of intelligence with authority over the CIA, FBI and other agencies." I guess this new director will be in charge of babysitting our intelligence agencies.

I find it hard to believe that the answer to our government's failing would be to appoint new government positions. Does anyone else see some kind contradiction here, besides me? There are also people who are going to act surprised that the FBI and CIA failed in doing their job. And people wonder why I am a Libertarian.

Just what our bogged down in political red tape gov't needs, yet another redundant organization to oversee another department that can not do it's job. The problem in D.C. is too much infighting. Politicians and arms of the gov't have too much rivalry and their own agendas to follow which hampers their effectiveness. The sad thing is that they are supposed to exist to serve the public and this country, but are too busy serving their own ends and jealously guarding their info to share with one another and do their gorram job.
