I wanted to thank you guys. I realized as I try to construct this argument that so many pieces of my thinking come from you guys here.

CantTakeSky, because of you, I always look for human motivation through psychology
SignyM and 1kiki, you made me make all my arguments ultimately into scientific arguments
Antimason, you introduced me to the religious lense without which I could not understand humanity, because humans are religious beings
6string, I'm sure it was you who posted the crypt link that turned me into a bitcoin dev
HKcavalier you showed me things about writing and changed the way I tell stories
Pirate News, you taught me to let go of the mainstream media and do my own research.
Fremdfirma, you made me the skeptic I am today
Auraptor, you taught me to see what was really there in black and white
ByteMite, thanks for being there, miss you, miss all you guys
JSF, Jongsstraw, ChrisIsAll, Kwicko, Brenda, jayneztown, i talked to all of your enough that I'm sure you had a profound impact on my thinking, even if I'm not coming up with it off the top of my head.
Second and Thuggr, i think you guys disagreed with everything I ever posted, but thanks for being there anyway.

And other people, you were here also, thanks, sorry for not coming up with your names

IDK who still posts here. Anyway, being sentimental, but I mean this. I'm making an scientific argument that a ruling based on a conspiracy of satanic worshippers of the book of revelations are using to psychologically manipulate the sheeple into rewriting their DNA as part of some communist agenda. I don't think that any piece of this would have been me without the people I met here. But I also think it's not wrong, I think it is what the world has become. SO thanks, for making me who I am, to whatever extent, but a remarkable extent for some online fan site for a TV show that got cancelled 18 years ago?

I, too, have learned much from people here. One of the things that I learned (from you, KIKI, FREM, BYTEMITE, 6IX, KWICKO and others whose names I've forgotten) is that I'm not the smartest duck in the pond!

I have had my mind changed about a lot of things- democrats, guns, economics, psychology, efficiency/robustness etc etc. Learned a lot about a lot of things. And considering how stubborn I am, that's saying something!

I never saw this until now.

From what I recall, you were interesting to read. I came here late, having never seen Firefly until August 2007. There were some folk who were a presence here, I recall Mal4Pres for one.
IIRC, you were a bit looney in the Libtard way, but you could make some sense sometimes - as usual, I just conjured you were stuck in a Libtard media bubble (meaning your geographical location) and didn't know any better. I think i usually tried to at least try to read what you had posted. Even now with your return, if I see that you have posted in a thread, I'll open up to see what you have said - and you are a bit more reasonable and sensible now.

I think one thing I get from the members of this board is the point of view of folk in different locations, states, continents. It is difficult wading through all of the trolls, but it is sometimes worthwhile.
I used to have decent discussions about cinema with ShinyGoodGuy and others. Those were invigorating and elegant at times. Now Cinema, Other Science Fiction Shows and such have devolved into mostly troll postings.

Oonjerah used to seem like an older POV. She told good stories.

It took a while to understand some warp that Sigs had, until she finally admitted that she loves terrorists, perticularly Palestinians. That helped me understand where her foundation was off.

Sometimes second has some sort of illness, and makes posts which are pertinent, on topic.

Otherwise, I don't have any desire to thank the trolls, they are the same across all boards, but just worse here. I don't recall learning anything from them.

Sometimes I wonder if somebody is just trying to act like they are dumb, but oft I attribute that to the "not in person" communication phenomenon.

I've made a serious drift over the years. In 2002-2003 when the show aired I was a loyal libtard. I missed the show originally, my sister Jenny caught it and recommended it. I was an avid Buffy fan, so I gave it a shot. I had no TV so I never saw it "air" I saw it on DVD in a binge.

I joined a centrist RPUSA in 2004, originally as a mole to try to split the GOP vote and help a democrat. I found myself surrounded by people who know 100x what I did about politics, and that all my political beliefs were not the well thought out positions I thought they were, but completely fake, implanted programming, that lied about what it stood for. I thought I was helping people, and protecting their rights, and not until I abandoned even thinking about issues and looking at political process was I able to start re-examining them.

As each one comes up, I have to think "is this a real position? how did I come to it? when did I decide? was I right then? am I right now?"

In that time, I also read Robert Heinlein's book "take back your govt" in which he makes some interesting assertions about how govt and politics actually work. I went digging for more, and I found an interview, in which he mention his journey from socialist to democrat to republican, and specifically I remember him saying that he tried to separate his politics from his fiction, because it destroyed the fiction, and because, he said in reference to his disillusionment with socialism (over the soviets and nazis) and with the democrats (over WWII and korea) "I've been wrong in the past, so it's reasonable to assume that I am wrong now. why would I want to teach someone something I know to be wrong?" I thought, anyone else might have written "I will be wrong in the future" but it was uniquely Heinlein to say "I am wrong now" and a much more honest appraisal of one's beliefs.

So all of this was around the time I joined FFF. And armed with the information that I was wrong now, I was more open to reinterpretting everything I believed. I thought for a while I might become a republican, but I couldn't stomach Bush Jr. pre-emptive war, torture, fracking.

Those four years I was here a lot, and a lot of my views changed. I found the problem with the right and the GOP was that it was impossible to disconnect with the left without also disconnecting from the concept of trust. Once I had decided not to trust a media source, I couldn't become a follower of Alex Jones or Glenn Beck or whoever talk radio. I did go to a protest with Alex in 2012, and I'll grant he has balls of steel, but he's also probably their guy. I was at Occupy Wall St. in 2011, but as a total troll.

It wasn't enough to make me want Obama, who was kind of obviously worse. I think I could have lived with McCain, but I didn't care for his hawkish stance on the middle east, which I still think was a globalist scam. And I was secretly hoping that McCain would get elected, then disqualified by grounds of not being US born, and we'd end up with President Palin. I still think it would have been awesome, in the same way that Trump was awesome. Trump was kind of completely what I was looking for, a bull headed hollywood stereotype president that didn't give a fuck.

I think after Trump though, Trump wasn't as Trump as he could have been. someone needs to give the complete utter smackdown to the left. I want president Jayne Cobb.

I mean, I don't think I have political beliefs anymore, I have understandings, if I know more about a topic, I might have an opinion, if I know less, I try not to have an opinion

The media is just the Lower Intelligence Education System, LIES, and it spits out premade leftism to be taken in by the hypnotized

All political protests are the Socialist/Communist Activist Movement, SCAM, and they exist to identify potential voters and potential enemies, and enable to the powers that be to unleash the Popular Social Youth Organization Program, PSYOP.

It's all a scam, basically, and the more it comes from the center, top, left, or globalist multinational corporate neocommies, the more it's a scam, if they say it, it's a scam, if they say it more, it's more of a scam, if there's a fact check on it, it's probably automatically untrue.

If anyone reading this is still a programmed libtard, you're where I was before firefly. You can still wake up. There's a whole world of wonderful things in life, like life. You don't have to hate for your entire life. I didn't realize it then but that's what all of that caring amounted to. It was cleverly disguised hate. Wake up. There might be issues which have a right and wrong, but if you're suck on the left, you aren't even in the debate, you're in the robot army shooting everyone

But when you wake up, you'll find it will take forever. You'll always be re-examining
