A weather Hurricane topic

Hurricane Ian is a large, deadly and destructive Hurricane that caused widespread damage across western Cuba and the southeast United States, especially the states of Florida and South Carolina, it has caused massive damage it is now at low intensity turning into a stormy depression of rain

Kamala Harris used the moment to push Reparations Wakanda Antifa BLM politics saying the Joe Biden Kamala Harris administration will be giving hurricane resources “based on equity” by favoring 'communities of color'.

Away from politics how bad could it get in a bleak Hurricane future?

A Category 6 is a hypothetical rating beyond Category 5 with winds speeds of at least 181 mph to 214 mph and an average pressure of roughly 905 mbar to 880 mbar.

being an extremely dangerous and deadly storm, especially if near land.

In his blog post, Masters analyzes research that was published in Nature Climate Change in 2015 by Kerry Emanuel of MIT and Ning Lin of Princeton University.

The scientists ran hurricane models within six different global climate models, and the results were mind-boggling.

The results showed that three vulnerable areas of the world are at risk for a "high-end" Category 5 tropical cyclone by the end of the 21st century due to the Earth's changing climate: Tampa, Florida; Cairns, Australia; and the Persian Gulf.

These potential Category 6 hurricanes may be up to 14 times more likely by 2100, according to the study.

The worst-case potential future hurricane put out by the climate models for the Tampa Bay area is unlike anything ever seen – maximum sustained winds of 233 mph with a minimum central pressure of 830 millibars, traveling parallel along Florida's Gulf Coast, producing a devastating 36-foot storm surge.

Those wind speeds are comparable to the EF5 tornado that destroyed Joplin, Missouri, in May 2011, except the damage would be along a swath 22 miles wide rather than only a few hundred yards.

Credit cards don't work so you need coins and cash, ammo is needed to defend against Looters, your EV car won't plug in, your i-phone cell phone charger thingy is down, you need an old traditional wind up radio, bottled water and energy bars, the electric solar power grid is down and you need an old Gasoline Generator, usually in a moment of crisis a nation comes together but Biden Harris admin has failed to unite the country

Some ignored the Mandatory evacuation orders and are Missing or Lost

DeSantis put looters on notice

Flooded homes, ruined roads left after Hurricane Ian

These 'events' seem to be more common and more intense

Haishen a Super Typhoon had speeds of 250 kilometres per hour (155 mph) in 2020 and hit Mariana Islands, Japan, Korean Peninsula, it caused $100 million in damage. Super Cyclonic Storm Amphan in 2020 was a powerful and catastrophic tropical cyclone that caused widespread damage in Eastern India, in West Bengal and Odisha, and in Bangladesh. They are moving South to Brazil and Australia which is rare, Hurricane Catarina, or Cyclone Catarina was an extraordinarily rare South Atlantic tropical cyclone, the only recorded hurricane strength storm on record in the South Atlantic Ocean it made landfall on South Brazil, Tornadoes might suddenly appear in Europe or Super Cyclonic Storms hit the Horn of Africa or Arabia. Hurricane Irma was an extremely powerful Cape Verde hurricane that caused widespread destruction across its path in September 2017. Irma was the first Category 5 hurricane to strike the Leeward Islands on record, followed by Maria two weeks later. Hurricane Maria a deadly Category 5 hurricane that devastated the northeastern Caribbean in September 2017, particularly Dominica, Saint Croix, and Puerto Rico. It is regarded as the worst natural disaster in recorded history to affect those islands. Hurricane Gustav caused serious damage and casualties in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Cuba and the United States. Gustav caused at least $8.31 billion 2008 USD in damages. One of the big ones 'Hurricane Katrina' was a destructive Category 5 Atlantic hurricane that caused over 1,800 fatalities and $125 billion in damage in 2005, the Levee broke while George Bush jnr played guitar.

People back in older days had common sense to stock up for an Apocalypse, tinned food, ammo, bottled water, silver coin, US Dollars and Gasoline for your Generator.

Big Hurricanes.

They used to be rare events?

Hurricane Michael 2018 was a very powerful and destructive tropical cyclone that became the first Category 5 hurricane to make landfall in the contiguous United States since Andrew in 1992, Hurricane Andrew was a very powerful and destructive Category 5 Atlantic hurricane that struck the Bahamas, Florida, and Louisiana. Hurricane Wilma 2005 was the most intense tropical cyclone ever recorded in the Atlantic basin, and the second-most intense tropical cyclone recorded in the Western Hemisphere, after Hurricane Patricia in 2015. Hurricane Emily 2005 was a powerful early season Cape Verde hurricane that caused significant damage across the Caribbean to Mexico. Hurricane Dennis 2005 was an early-forming major hurricane in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico during the record-breaking 2005 Atlantic hurricane season. Andrew was also the strongest landfalling hurricane in the United States in decades and the costliest hurricane to strike anywhere in the country, until it was surpassed by Katrina in 2005. Hurricane Harvey was a devastating Category 4 hurricane that made landfall on Texas and Louisiana in August 2017, causing catastrophic flooding and more than 100 deaths. It is tied with 2005's Hurricane Katrina as the costliest tropical cyclone on record, inflicting $125 billion (2017 USD) in damage. Hurricane Maria was a deadly Category 5 hurricane that devastated the northeastern Caribbean in September 2017, particularly Dominica, Saint Croix, and Puerto Rico. It is regarded as the worst natural disaster in recorded history to affect those islands. Hurricane Ike was a powerful tropical cyclone that swept through portions of the Greater Antilles and Northern America in September 2008, wreaking havoc on infrastructure and agriculture, particularly in Cuba and Texas. Hurricane Ida was a deadly and destructive Hurricane that became the second-most damaging and intense hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. state of Louisiana on record Hurricane Laura was a deadly and destructive Category 4 hurricane. Hurricane Dorian was an extremely powerful and catastrophic Category 5 Atlantic hurricane, which became the most intense tropical cyclone on record to strike the Bahamas, and tied for strongest landfall in the Atlantic basin. It is also regarded as the worst natural disaster in the Bahamas' recorded history.

SW Florida really got hammered this time. We in SE Florida have been very lucky, dodging and ducking these damn hurricanes since the last bad one years ago. I feel bad for my fellow Floridians, but not as bad as if it had hit us here in Fort Lauderdale. Sorry, that's just the way it is.
