Quit your crying you little bitch. You haven't lost shit, dummy.

You've got a mute function. Use it. You've got a block function. Use it. You even have an auto-block function that will block anybody who's subscribed to people you have blocked. I know you know that, and I know you already use it.

Seriously. What the fuck is wrong with you?

What you've lost is your elite echo chamber. At least, you've lost the fact that it morphed into an automatic elite echo chamber that made sure you only ever read opinions from people you agree with over the last decade. Now you have to take time out of your semi-charmed life to block who you don't want to hear from anymore on your own.

Oh! Woe is me!

Get fucked Aja. Get fucked Vox.

Grow the fuck up.

Weird stuff to cry about

And yet, if any internet space deserves our sincere respect, it’s Twitter, which has functioned more like a “real” public square than any other social media platform. This is the platform that gave birth to the hashtag, with all its infinite and often surprising uses. It has aided the rise of countless social movements, from the #ArabSpring resistance to #BlackLivesMatter to #MeToo. Not all of them have been good — see Gamergate, Pizzagate, QAnon, et al — but they have all, unequivocally, mattered.

I never paid much attention to twitter but it has at times briefly got my attention for example when Hashtag # Banislam almost got trending...until it was suppressed or shadow banned. If I do check twitter its usually for breaking news on an event or shooting or maybe something on a Science discovery feat or Bio experiment, engineering or science research paper account. After a while I replaced breaking news from twitter with bitchute, rumble, liveleak, gettr, heavy dot com etc I might check JamesWoods once in a while to see if he's unbanned or check what stupidity Leftwing Joss Whedon or Rightwing Adam Baldwin are posting. But for me it hasd not been the voice of the town square, it is Not an open chat news and debate public space, not for a long time.

Well... you're an old dude. I'm getting there myself. Of course you don't put a whole lot of relevance to Twitter in your everyday life.

It's a lot different for the kids who grew up with it. There's not a person in the US who is old enough to buy cigarettes or join the military who was born before Twitter was created.

I mean, think about that and let it sink in.

Growing up in a Republic was nice... Shame we couldn't keep it.
