Can We Get Another Countdown...?

I've been out of the world a bit (re: summer break) and just recently read Jewel Staite's interview. Shocked and horrified by the fact that Fox will have the rights to Firefly FOR 10 MORE YEARS I was wondering if we could get another countdown. One that would at least have an estimation on when Fox would release, sell, whatever, the rights of Firefly to another company.

What'cha think? Could somebody try to set up that kind of countdown?

I have a question concerning the rights.... couldn't the show be named serenity after the movie, be aired on a different network, and get around the rights issue with fox and the name firefly??

I suspect the rights probably extend beyond simply the name Firefly. They probably cover everything from title to character names, logos, designs... It might end up looking unrecognisable. If Joss could get away with moving the show elsewhere and just calling it something else, I think he probably would have done it by now.

Sadly, I think the best chance of a return to television is if someone tries to BUY the rights off Fox. And that won't happen because Fox won't want someone else to have success with a show that Fox themselves cancelled. It would just show how thunderingly incompetent they are.

Yes I suppose you're right... I guess we'll have to see how the movie (or movies) goes and maybe we'll get another series later.
