I dont know whether this has come up before, but what is the actual full name of the Alliance. I know in the pilot script it is referred to as the Anglo-Sino Alliance implying an American-Chinese union, but later on in "Ariel", Agent McGinnis, while giving the "bound by law to stand down" speech, refers to the Union of Allied Planets or something similar. Which is considered correct?

Probably both. Much like the United States of America is referred to the States, US, USA etc ...

The Anglo-Sino Alliance is most likey the 'formal' title, while the war-treaty/pact references the "Union of Allied Planets"

One could inferr that the Anglo-Sino Alliance was the core group and then made pacts with other - unaligned - planets to form the 'Union of Allied planets' that participated in the war aginst the Indpendents.

Again, the Civil War is the template, IE there was a large portion of the United States of America (the North) that was labled the Union, while the South was called the Confederacy.

Does that sound logical?
