FF Cast in other Movies/TV
Thursday, July 8, 2004

Been trying to catch our beloved Firefly cast in movies and t.v. shows as best I can.

Rented "Cheats" for Jewel (Kaylee). Not too bad. She makes a small showing, but does well. Rented "The Right Temptation" for Adam Baldwin. Also plays a small role as well. Point of interest (and I posted it as a message on the board, but it caught no one else's interest), at least to me - at the start of the movie, they always run the main and secondary character credits. Two names before Adam's, there was an actor whose last name is Jayne. But, it may just be "simple entertainment for simple minds". Been seeing Alan on t.v. a lot, since they've been running "A Knights Tale" like crazy. That man can emote like no one else!

Then, I was moving some episodes of "24" off our DVR (digital video recorder - kinda like Tivo) onto a DVD disk. These were the last five epsiodes of Season Two. Surprise sighting (I forgot she'd been in it, it's been so long) - Gina Torres as Julia! Not so shiny, her ultimate demise . But that just frees her up for Serenity! ;-) I don't think I can bring myself to see if Netflix has Cleopatra 2525, though.

Lots of shiny movies, thanks :)

We have all the Matrix movies (when I wasn't sleeping, I did manage to catch Gina in that one) and Independants Day on DVD, who I went and looked for, after checking the IMDB for what all the cast has been in.

Also there's Adam in "Full Metal Jacket". I always think that Animal Mother is the young Jayne (almost 20 years ago). His favourite word is "f**ing" and he likes shooting and is very good in a fight. :-)

Dodgeball was pretty funny; it gets mistaken for a Ben Stiller comedy, when it's not actually Ben's movie at all. Alan was one of the funnier parts in it, and he's dressed all sexy at the end, for the ladies *rowr*

Personally, I had to hunt down reruns of "Two Guys and a Girl" to see how the world saw Nathan Fillion in his early years. Weird.

Alan Tudyk is also in the movie 28 days. But I don't know if he's suppose to be gay or he's just really emotional. But he was great in it.

I want to go see I, Robot. Not too sure about Dodgeball. Amazingly enough, our cranky local movie critic actually gave it like 3 or 3 1/2 stars. I was stunned.

Alan Tudyk is also the lead robot in I, Robot due out this summer. I believe they used his voice, cause i know they used his likeness.

alan tudyk is in the new movie Dodgeball. i only found out a little while ago. he plays a pirate and is pretty good (it's still a pretty small part, though). the whole movie is moderately entertaining, much more so if you're a fan of slapstick/physical comedy/nerds getting hit in the groin with high speed dodgeballs.
