BLUE SUN ROOM FAN FICTION - DRAMA
I don't like this one as much as the other's. A bit of a narrative, which isn't bad, but doesn't nessesarily fit with this story. It's what poured out. The next one may not be thought but more dialogue. Zoe/Jayne conversation. We'll see how this goes. Not promising a happy ending. Not promising there won't be either.
CATEGORY: FICTION TIMES READ: 2704 RATING: 9 SERIES: FIREFLY
It's good to be alive. I'm laying in the infirmary, half asleep, due to Simon's dopin' me. This job we just had, Went a bit further south than the others ever did. We rescued a handful of prisoners from a slaver's keep. That bit wasn't all that difficult. Was the man gave us the job, some idiot, believe he was recommended by that high class fella Mal met at the party on Persephone a long while back.
We brought back 7 people, expecting to get paid and thanked. That Liou coe shway duh biao-tze huh hoe-tze duh bun ur-tze had no plans on cooperating with that.
Come to find out, he was a gorram slaver himself. Man we'd rescued them folks from, had been takin his "property" same way he'd takin his. I believe they were friends of some sort, took the lives of other people, including us, as a game, as some sort of ruttin' joke.
When we let them people go, we was damned surprised to see men ghost in from all over, guns pointin' in our direction.
The events came after that weren't pleasant. When he demanded the girls, placin' a disgustin eye on Zoë, I went off crazy-like, takin down a few guards, and givin' everyone else a chance to escape.
I'd seen men look at women like that before. Only Tyen shiao duh what he had planned for Zoë, and I couldn't take it.
I was taken down, and for what seemed like weeks, I was tortured. I kept my mind on her, and it helped. A bit.
Serenity came back for me, after a while. Mal had been hit, and it'd taken a day or two.
I heard the gunshots from my cell. Zoë was the first through the door. I spoke her name and she shot my gaurd then nodded before speaking mine.
It was amazin', seein her storm inta that dim room, outlined by bright light from the hall. Like what my ma used to describe to me angels looked like. She'll speak now. She's got no choice. *****
I was worried...
Worried about Jayne. The feeling is strange, and I want it to go away. The operation was somewhat familiar. A bit like the rescue of the Captain and Wash. Except I talked my way through to getting Wash back safely. I guess it fits. Wash with conversation and level-headedness, and Jayne with violence and weapons.
River just came by. Told me he was awake, that it was my turn to go to him. It's a bit strange, seeing as she's been on the bridge all day, and hasn't left the pilot's seat. Wash's pilot seat. Weird and River were born on the same day.
I'm going to go. I don't know what I'll say. If I'll say anything. The fact that Jayne was almost killed doesn't change the fact that my husband is gone forever. It's important that he knows that as well as I do.
