Serenity Rising: Greenleaf Wallpaper Version 2.0
Sunday, September 28, 2008

Alright, so for homework in my Intro to Computer Animation class our homework was to play on photoshop and create an image that was at least 400x&00, had one dowbnloaded image, at least brush and used the pen tool. So, I seeing as I desperately wanted to make a better giant-sized version of the greenleaf WP, that;s what became my homework undertaking. I have to spend roughly 10 hours on hw for each class, and I reached that pretty easily with this piece. I'm so ridiculously proud though, I nearly fell upon my sword while trying to make a round object (the planet) with the pen tool.

you'll have to open the image in it's own separate window to view it in it's full size... of I'll post one in the BSR forums as well.

The details are amazing - it's almost identical to the original. The background planet (and its moon?) are a nice addition.

I know this is a super late reply Gilove2dance but my school is a Maya school. I'll be dabbling in it but my actual emphasis is in the 2d animation department under storyboarding.

Summer on the Dollhouse Set
Thank you io9.com. Summer's character Bennet is the D.C. Dollhouse's Topher. Uploads the personalities, and is a little on the quirky side.

Comic-Con or Bust
Ink on 18 x 24 paper. This was done a few months back as a thank you gift for some friends that allowed my geek group to use their camper trailer for Comic Con. I wanted to draw their trailer as well as various fandoms and aspects of geek culture traveling to the Con. And yes, if you look at Stitch, there is in fact Jayne's hat coming along for the ride.

Cartoon Reynolds: Rough & Ink
Guess who finally got RAM on their antiquated Mac? And with RAM comes CS3, where more of my warming up and practicing before school starts is now taking place. First, a quick sketch of Cartoon Reynolds (who knows he's a badass) followed by an inked version via photoshop & wacom tablet. Trying out different styles as well as keeping loose with the lines. Also, having to reteach myself on the tablet as I've been doing everything old school this summer. Too lazy to properly draw hands (the buggers) so I cheated.

Warm Up Sketch: Mal
A quick warm up in my sketchbook before tackling a large project. Not happy with the outcome, but that's what I get for not drawing in three months and then picking it up again. Pencil, then pen.

Buffy staked Edward...
To my friend Bre, who whispered this to me nearly every time we passed by someone wearing a Twilight shirt at CC. A warm up sketch I did before tackling a much larger project, rough pencil first, then a fairly cheap Office Depot pen (someone stole my bamboo set at school GRRR) in my sketchbook. Have a larger size if anyone is interested.

Captain Hammer Graduation Card
So this is something I did for my brother, it goes with the Comic-Con kit I put together for him for his grad gift (there was Captain Hammer's T-shirt inside). I'm not entirely happy with it, it's a rush job and I haven't drawn in over a month. However I'll probably go back in photoshop, redo some things and color it. The Cap'n text was inspired by the web comic Captain Hammer: Be Like Me!
