You need to take that argument to the promoters of "Can't Stop The Serenity." I've always wondered how and why it was allowed to be called that.

It depends on how you are using it in the sentence. I think both are correct...and I think Inara was calling it just "Serenity" because Mal likes to anthropomorphize his ship since doesn't have actual family anymore.
I think it was an act of respect for his loss...

Just my opinion...

Hahaha, exquisite!

And in fact, saying "the X" for ship naming conventions is actually incorrect in general. Civilian ships are always referred to by name as if they were a person in of themselves, and some military ships also follow this convention.

"The" as a prefix is OPTIONAL unless it is specifically included in the ship's full name.

I mean always saying "the" before the ship name, the rule of thumb itself is not always correct, you can technically do it and not be incorrect, but if someone who knows the ship tells you there's no "the", take their word for it.

I'm not making sense, am I? :/

SECOND

Bytemite makes sense.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_%28ships%29

According to Wikipedia, ship names are always italicized, so that means when Serenity is spoken it must be pronounced with an Italian accent. Even Inara, the grammar nazi, gets that wrong. And no 'The', please. Let's stay on Inara's good side.

The "the" section is further down on that wikipedia page.

Alliance Food Stuffs
I created a 3d printable file of the Alliance food stuffs bar from the pilot episode. It can be downloaded from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:474372. There is also a two part mold.

Vera Made From MDF and PVC
Can't believe I didn't post this already. This is made from scratch out of MDF and PVC, using mostly a router and a scroll saw. I'll have the whole costume together for Salt Lake Comic Con.

Aim To Misbehave
This is not mine, I found it via https://www.facebook.com/BringBackFirefly

This may be the greatest baby photograph ever taken. Maybe.

Nathan Fillion and Jimmy Stewart
I've seen a few of these floating around, so I decided to do one for two of my favorite actors.

Persephone
I've recently been introduced to another great sci-fi show, and honestly, there's no reason that these two 'verses couldn't be the same...

Osama Checks In
Couldn't help myself.

Starfest 2011 Firefly Cosplay
I found a few others with Firefly cosplay going on. I'm the one in the Jayne hat. I'm afraid I didn't get names for everyone in the picture, so if you're here, speak up and get credit for the great costumes.

Summer Glau as an Elf
By request - Summer Glau with pointy elf ears and all. The costume and background are from Shaiya (the MMORPG). I know it's not terribly original, but it was quick and easy, and most of all, it was fun.

To get a higher resolution, just right click and select "View Image" or "Show Picture."

Jayne Special
This is the Wilco Models Jayne Special (as well as the hat my wife made me - I love that woman!). I used a dry-brush technique to paint the pistol.
