He should have known
CATEGORY: FICTION TIMES READ: 2904 RATING: 8 SERIES: FIREFLY
Sorry this took so long in getting here, and also so sorry it's so short. I had a serious case of writers block and could not for the life of me think of anything creative to write about. There will be one more installment to this series.
Thanks to Idiotchild for the help with the writers block.
Disclaimer- all characters and places are the property of joss whedon and mutant enemy, and despite by dreams, i am not associated with either of them.
If Only They Knew-pt2

He should have known. It was when they arrived on Persephone that things went awry. Mal knew that they had made a few enemies during their travels, but he didn’t realise just how many there were and just how much he had pissed them off. So, needless to say he was shocked when they landed at the Eavesdown docks and opened the door to the cargo bay only to find himself presented with twenty or thirty big guys with guns.
Fifteen of these hundans ordered Mal, Zoe and Jayne to their knees and held them with guns while the others searched the ship for the rest of the crew. The crew were one by one brought to the cargo bay and placed in the same position as the captain. Mal tried his hardest to keep a level head as he thought desperately for ways to make their escape. The hardest thing was to do was to restrain himself from running over and comforting Kaylee; who was sobbing so hard she felt her that heart was going to fall out. Jayne was glancing about him, trying to count how many opponents he could take. Book had his head bent in a hasty but vehement prayer. Wash looked at his wife expectantly, but Zoe only shook her head at him, as thus signifying that resistance would be useless. Inara had a similar look on her face, only she was looking at Mal, who deliberately payed her no heed. Simon had a vaguely frightened look on his face as he saw the look in Rivers eyes. For a moment his sister seemed to bask in the experience, but then a shadow seemed to pass over her face, as she regressed to her gibbering state - “The Lion, the Badger, the Snake and the Rat” she repeated over and over again, unnerving both the crew, and the aggressors.
A noise at the door of the cargo bay turned all heads, and Rivers mumblings suddenly made sense . Standing at the door was Jubal Early, Badger, Saffron and Adelai Niska. Fear flooded throughout each and every one of them, though they tried with all their might to conceal it from their assailants. Their worst enemies had returned, and River screamed as they approached crew of Serenity, shutting the door behind them.
Why hadn’t he realized?
