On Haven in the dark of night lit by campfires Mal and Book are talking about the Alliance’s need to get River back.

Book says. “You have to believe, Captain.”

Mal retorts. “You know I come to you for advice preacher but I don’t want any sermons.”

“Why do you think I am talking about God, when I talk about belief. You’ve believed in something since the day I first met you.”

“Yeah, what’s that?” Mal inquiries smugly.

“Serenity, and her crew. You do believe in them don’t you? Zoë always has your back; Kaylee is your mei mei. And even Jayne well Jayne is like the uncle no one likes to talk about.”

Mal smirks at the slight insult to his mercenary. As a 14-year girl suddenly appears as if from nowhere and walks straight up to Book.

Little River exclaims “Preacher man!”

Book gleefully replies. “River, my don’t you look wonderful.”

Little River states. “Yes” she holds up her arms and begins to twirl like a ballerina. “All better now.”

“Really, child how nice.”

Mal starts waving his hands like he’s trying to signal a bus to stop and just about screams. “Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, and exactly what is happing here?”

River turns to the captain gives him the BOOB look and says. “You’re dreaming, Captain.”

Book looks the Captain dead in the eye and says. “Yes captain, remember I’m dead.”

Mal suddenly bolts upright in his bunk. “Liou coe shway duh biao-tze huh hoe-tze fuh ur-tze!” He says as he buries his face in has hands.

In the hallway above the crews bunks River’s laying face down on the floor grate when her eyes suddenly popped open. She is just a little startled. Then shrugs and continues installing some more wiring under the grate in the floor.
