BLUESUNCOMPANYMAN

I've always been partial to the speech given by Vinz Klortho, keymaster of Gozer when asked by Igon who Gozer exactly is:

Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a large and moving Torb. Then during last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a giant Sloar! Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of a Sloar that day I tell you!

I wonder what Vinz might have added to this speech if 1000 years from now he was again asked about Gozer:

Then in the year 1986 when our prisioners were released, the traveller's form was again chosen; that of a giant beast made entirely of marshmellow! Many subcreatures were crushed and undone on that day! Hail Gozer, Volguus Zildrohar!

The quote is actually:

"Come with me if you want to live" first uttered by Kyle Reese in the original Terminator movie. He says it to Sarah Connor when they first meet.

It's what started it all. And it's been used in every Terminator movie ans subsequent TV series since. I, for one, love it when a line - a signature line - is used in such a manner. Unlike other signature lines this one is used by various characters within the same context.

"May the force be with you" is generic in nature.
"Live long and prosper" is mainly used by one character.
So is "resistance is futile."
Ditto with "who you gonna call," and the aforementioned "I'll be back."

Funny thing is that "come with me, if you want to live," is used by one human and then 3 terminators. But each with significant meaning for the humans in peril. It is, for me, an iconic line. The storytellers in each of the movies and in the TV series were wise to use it.

The Time Machine (1960)
"My name is of no consequence. The important thing you should know,

Can I cheat and mention the best radio show ever, The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy?

Arthur Dent: I mean, what is the point?
Nutrimatic Drink Machine: Nutrition and pleasurable sense data. Share And Enjoy.
Arthur: Listen, you stupid machine, it tastes filthy! Here, take this cup back! (he throws the cup at it)
Nutrimatic Drink Machine: If you have enjoyed the experience of this drink, why not share it with your friends?
Arthur: Because I want to keep them! Will you try and comprehend what I'm telling you? That drink -
Nutrimatic Drink Machine: That drink was individually tailored to meet your personal requirements for nutrition and pleasure.
Arthur: Ah. So I'm a masochist on a diet, am I?!

The Guide: The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy is an indispensable companion to all those who are keen to make sense of life in an infinitely complex and confusing universe; for though it cannot hope to be helpful or informative on all matters, it does make the reassuring claim that where it is inaccurate, it is at least definitively inaccurate. In cases of major discrepancy it is always reality that's got it wrong.

My thoughts went to the same movies. We watch them more times, so that slants it, but also, good lines help make a great movie.

Mind is kind of a fog right now, but here were my first thoughts

"Accelerated decrepitude" in fact, that whole scene.

Professor Tom Nesbitt: The world's been here for millions of years.
Man's been walking upright for a comparatively short time. Mentally
we're still crawling.

Cpl. Stone: Colonel says you need a dead shot, mister.
Professor Tom Nesbitt: Yes. Ever use a grenade rifle?
Cpl. Stone: Pick my teeth with it.

Cpl. Stone: If you can load it, I can fire it.

Cpl. Stone: I can't hit him from here, mister.

The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at https://www.mediafire.com/two

Dune 2021:

Helen Mohiam: The test is simple. Remove your hand from the box, and you die.

Paul Atreides: What's in the box?

Helen Mohiam: Pain.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1160419/quotes/?ref_=tt_trv_qu

Why that line? I'm convinced many people I know would pass the test with glory. Many others would fail because they hide a terrible secret reason given in Dune.

This is another favorite line, but it didn't get into the movie:

“I just received news from Legendary that we are officially moving forward with Dune: Part Two,” Villeneuve said in a statement. “It was a dream of mine to adapt Frank Herbert’s Dune and I have the fans, the cast, and crew, Legendary and Warner Bros. to thank for supporting this dream. This is only the beginning.”

Another favorite: ‘Dune’ Is the Movie We Always Wanted

I wouldn’t say that this “Dune” matches the vision I had when reading the book. It’s better. The visuals surpass my imagination — those ornithopters! The actors give the characters more depth than the book’s author previously had in my mind.
