I've been betaed by the best and am currently folding, spindling and mutilating my first-ever fanfic, an NC17 about Jayne & Kaylee. If I have my way, it'll be a long story, letting the pair have titillating brushes with each other, but no culmination for a while so the pressure builds. Eventually, it'll lead to horizontal mambo, of course, but slow is my way. Does the Firefly fanfic-loving public enjoy one long story or a bunch of sequels? I've gotta know. Thanks.

I dont really read Fanfic, 'specially Firefly ones.. But I think people prefer Chapters..Cause I do see alot of Segments in the Blue Sun Room..

But, I have to do this:

EWWWW NC-17 Jaylee? times 10000000! EW

-------------------------------------------------
Because Dancers are tough,mean...Chicas!! -Summer Glau
----
-I think they captured his essence... -Wash
-Look sorta angry, dont he? -Kaylee
-Kinda what I meant. -Wash
---
-Everywhere I go..His eyes keep following me... -Kaylee
-----
-How bout we get away from this eerie ass piece of work and get on with our increasingly eerie ass day? How's that?!

(Handing Piffle some Mylanta and a mop) Oh, my poor, poor Piffle! You don't know what you've MISSED until you've gotten hip-deep in a good Jaylee romp. The two of them have upbringing in common, style of speech, sexual experience rating, level of unwashed-ness... the list goes on and on. And hey! Who else is Jayne gonna mix it up with so's a woman can get her happy on by reading about it while maybe picturing herself caught up in those muscular arms? Ok, so there's River and I kinda like that pairing too, but Kaylee is...right for Jayne. Sorry for you Simon/Kaylee lovers out there. Y'all go ahead and write that and I'll love it too, even if Jayne is conspicuously absent.

i have never come across a fanbase as creepy as firefly.

like, i really love how devoted everyone is, it's great, it really is, but all these NC-17 porno type fanfics are a whole different kind of weird. and weird in a bad way.

The great thing about most of the web is you can have your opinion and allow others to have theirs too, as long as you're talking about consenting adults. Nobody gets hurt. Coolness too, is my being able to like what I like without trying to push it on you, meangoldfish, and you get to like what you like without pushing your views on me. And with fanfic: One can easily avoid what's not their cup of tea by noting the rating at the top of any fic posted, if all works as it should.

You Jaylee people are sick, do you hear me? SICK!!!

Yes, that's right. It's just WRONG.

Imagine, two mature, grown adults having sex?!? Ugh.

By the way, if you know of any more NC-17 Jaylee fics out there, you'd better give me the address, just... you know... so's I can avoid them.

Yeah, that's it. Avoid them like the... horrid... wrong... plain sick... but somehow... intriguing... hot... steamy... drool... ungggggg

*blink*

Um, what?

LOL Jacqui, thanks for that divided but nevertheless plainspoken addition. Good to hear from the pervy-loving side. I wish I'd never posted this one in the first place. Have actually e-mailed the fff.net web-master asking for help deleting the abomination due to too much bad press. Didn't mean to provoke a firestorm. At this point I hope the WM gets back to me soon and/or punts this out the airloc.

Pfft, don't worry 'bout deleting this post.

Once your fic is finished, post it up in the Blue Sun Room with the word "JAYLEE" clear to see and it will be read in droves. Trust me on this, we are out there.

Fanfic isn't for everyone, some get it, some don't. For those who get it, it's a way to explore situations for the characters that were't explored on the show.

I read Jaylee fiction, Rayne, Kaylee/Simon, in fact, there's very few 'ships I don't read. m/m slash, f/f slash, bring it on. I'm even partial to a good CSI fic if it's done well.

This doesn't mean that I particularly want to see the relationships become canon on screen, because... well... sometimes the thought is better than the reality.

You write what you want to write, there'll be people who will read it, never you fear.

ItsaWash relaxes.

Just long enough to mull over some more racy plot lines for her next NC17 fanfic so MeanGoldfish can go read them in the privacy of his/her own room.

It doesn't really matter either way. IMHO. A one off story can be just as appealing as a bunch of sequels. (For writers and readers respectively.)

Although, from a writer's point of view, sequels can be a lot of fun. It allows you to expand your imagination. There is a lot more freedom to write stuff. It allows you to develop your writing style in fresh and dynamic ways too.

(I've been writing fan fic for over a year now, and had no previous experience with writing fiction. It really helped to develop my writing skills. I'm currently working on my second Firefly horror series now.)

I try to write stories as though they're like self contained movies. They are all separate, but can be linked at the same time.

It can be a rewarding process either way. It's a good learning process.

Looking forward to checking out your story!

I like your response, cos. Makes good sense. Got a link to your ff horror? Would like to read it.

Here's the link to my first fanfic, posted late last month. I'm linking you to the conclusion, but you can see Parts 1-4 if you go to Blue Sun Room, click on Show me more fanfics, then go to letter "T" for The Measure of a Jayne. Hey! If you read me, please feed me back, 'kay? I need it bad. Thanks.

Nice! I'll check that out ASAP. (I never realised that you'd already put them on line.) You'd like feedback? No probs!

Um.. Sure...

SCHISM part 1:
http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=2527

It's a five part story. It started off as a one off halloween story last year. The remaining four parts can be accessed through the 'Blue Sun Options' menu on the main Blue Sun Room page. (Category: Horror.)

*Rushes off to read 'The Measure of a Jayne' fan fic.*

Keep flyin'!

Hiya CosmicFuge: I read your short but highly creepifying and intriguing Halloween fic. VERY nice stuff, your writing kinda reads like my own, without the extra kinky perv I can't seem to keep out of my syllables. Left you feedback on #1. Will read the other 4 parts later today, going to see Serenity again right now before it's gone from the big screen around here.

Go check out my honest analysis on each of your parts later on, 'kay? If the others are anywhere near the caliber of the first, it'll all be shiny! Ain't it just pitiful how very dear feedback is to we who scribble? If the non-feedbackers only knew...

Cos: If you ever wanna ship fic ideas or comments back and forth, write me at Four-foot-hair@hotmail.com. I'll look for you there.

I like one long story at once, personally. I find chapters, and the waiting between them, to be frustrating. Not sure what I think of an NC-17 Jayne/Kaylee encounter, but I'll brace myself and give it a shot.

Jayne/Kaylee is fun. Not sure about NC-17? Take it gently then --> "The Catch" http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=4471

Or, you know, fully NC-17 --> "Sometimes" http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=4477

A big yes on Jacqui's offerings. Her Jayne work is quite nice and of the kink in all the right places.

I appreciate the feedback, Jetflair. I did go for parts 1-5, even though I kinda like the long rambling ones too. Here's the link to me and mine, since Jacqui started the trend of fanfic pimpin'. Just look to the lower right side and you'll find The Measure of a Jayne, my first ever effort:

STORMO

I just came across this question and thought I'd give you my answer. I, personally, like sequels or shorts, as long as I know the author is going to update consistently.

With busy schedules, I can sit down and read a chapter quicker than a longer story. If you are going to leave cliffhangers, please be a quick updater though.

And all this from a S/K fan.
Good luck with your story.

I know what did this...

Definitely a series...I myself only wrote stand-alones but a series is so much more enjoyable, the anticipation, etc.
