The Tenth Floor, double digits...it's time to get serious, folks (well, in addition to the nice-ishness, of course, and the silliness and the wickedness, etc. etc.). We've all had our fun on the last floor. There are not-so-nice-ish folk that need salvation the world 'round.

To bring yourself up to the current floor of the hidey place of nice-ish folks that's located in a plainly visible skyscraper (and how large it is!), read these:

Ground Floor: Hunt for the Secret Hidey Place of Nice Boys

Second Floor: The Hidey Place of Nice Boys & Girls

Yeah, I need to get back into the rhythm of being around here. Feel bad for how little I've been posting on here lately.

So what's going on on this, our tenth floor? Something serious, I take it? How serious are we talking here?

Won't wear no tie
Like a noose around my neck,
Can't get a choke chain,
Round my throat.

Tie their noose,
Around your neck.
Look at your eyes,
The haunted black circles of your plight.

Remember the blue metal ones at the playgrounds?
There were two types, the flat ones where you ran around holding onto a rail and then jumped on, and the kettle style with the "steering wheel" in the middle.

They were loads of fun if one had younger cousins around...

Oh, I loved merry go rounds at the playground. When you'd get it going so fast you had to hold on with all your might so you didn't go flying off.

And those animal things that were on a big giant spring and would bounce back and forth and you'd try to get it going so hard that you could touch the ground.

Nowadays, playgrounds are so child safe that they're quite boring.

Really... where's the fun if there's no danger involved?

Teeter-totter games like Mr. Brown, Mr. Brown let me down. And how far could you launch yourself out of the swing.

Hours of torturous fun!

Now it's all plastic (cause some childs parent let them suck on the pressure treated wood for hours on end). No tall slides... no merry-go-rounds... absolutely no teeter-tooters.

I LOVE teeter totters.

And I still launch myself from swings.

A few weeks ago, when I was on that retreat, we had some free time and there were swings and so I got a bunch of the teenagers to swing with me and then we had a contest to see who could swing the highest (I still maintain I won, but the 6'4" kid claims he was. I say legs don't count.) And then we all jumped from the swings. It was very high on the fun-o-meter.

And nobody died.
