So, new thready goodness!

Here we are at the beginning of the year and I'm wondering what goodies are install for us in 2006?

My aims are to overcome fear of public transport before Saturday. (Leaving it a little late I know!) Find a kick ass, money saving, Job; have an equally good time at Cubed and move to Canada for 10 months. I think it might be a dull year!

Anyway... as you were!

I'm leaving England in October and staying in Canada 'til July. Then going on a little travel to some other places for two months and then that makes a year!

Canadians are supposed to be polite. I haven't heard much about their public transportation though. In the US, Hawaii, Oahu to be specific has the best with Washington DC in second and Boston in 3rd.

Don't ride the subway in NY for your first few ventures into public transportation in the US -- you will be forever scarred!

I've ridden the subway in NYC many a time and I have no scars.

In fact, once, this guy playing a steeldrum starting singing me a song while we were waiting for the train.

And I've only had a few people offer me sex and/or drugs.

Yes, and yes. We talked to a mortgage person at our bank, while we were already there for the car loan, so we're pre-approved for that, too. We're currently renting, have been since we've been together, saving up. It'll probably be ages before we find something we'd want to buy, but there's no harm in looking. We really can't move until my son finishes high school in June, since we plan to live outside the city and probably outside the school district too.

Getting back to, well, what was the topic of this thread? Oh, Public Transportation. Not much to say about that, is there? We should publicly transport ourselves to a different topic. Something like, oh, I don't know, fireplaces on a wintery day, or morning talk shows.

Wacky fun!

I usually like public transportation. We don't really have it here in Tulsa, but I've sampled metros, buses, and taxis from Paris to LA and everywhere in between. it's not so bad.

I'd like to second the motion to talk about fireplaces on wintery days.

Good thing.

Very good thing.

Can be quite romantic, relaxing, or warm. Or all three, leading to, um, stuff.

TWG can I join you by the fire? I am poorly sick and need some looking after. I'll lie quiet like, but if someone would get me a hot chocolate occasionally that would be fantastic.

The bus goes wherever you want it to go! My bus went to London yesterday to meet Ryan and Hilary and some other cool Browncoats I'd never met before. And we saw Serenity (again) so it was a very good day.

But now I'm back in reality again. I hate reality!

"Monday is an awful way to spend one seventh of your life" I forget who said that now but they were totally right!
