they are odd days throughout the year where the kids have the day off so teachers can learn how to teach

IMO if they didnt already know how to teach in the first place they shouldnt be there

Doesn't the saying go:

Those that can't do, teach. Those that can't teach, teach teachers?

Oh wait I taught for a while. Math at a junior college. It was fun; learning disabled and non-traditional adults. Hard; but, fun.

Oh you poor thing! Twirls are two delightful chocolatey sticks. Think Twix but without all the other stuff, just flakey chocolate. Nummers.

But I've discovered that my favourite of all is the Galaxy. Those are just delightful.

When my store reopens, I'll have to send you one. Join me in my love of british confections!

Bananas! Egh. I hate the smell, the texture. I can't even chop one up for the Kids at nursary coz i can't touch it. Yuck, no bananas for me!

Okra is one of God's gifts to mankind; and probably the most mis-understood veg out there. Except maybe the artichoke.

It's a wonderful thickner for stews and the such. And deep fried; now good deep fried okra is orgasmic. hAVING PROBLEMS typing -- dog is on one arm.. thank god she only weighs 9pounds right now. 4 month old pug.

I love brussel's sprouts, but okra...

My parents' best friends are hard-core Cajun. Growing up, I had okra cooked in every way imaginable. The only way I could stand it was artfully hidden in a nice gumbo. As soon as I grew up to the point I could control what I ate I swore off okra forever, except in the aforementioned gumbo, which I actually like.

One of my favourite quotes:

"Give me Truths, for I wear of Surfaces."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

I hate raw tomatoes. Can't stand the smell of them, the taste, the texture. Can't bear to cut them up. I can only use the canned ones.

Once they're cooked up I can eat them okay, but I can't stand them in large quantities or when they're very obvious. I do not love tomatoes. Tomato sauce, tomatoe soup, sundried tomatoes yummers! But raw tomatoes-blech!!!

Also, I hate mushrooms. And it drives me crazy that people count them as a vegetable because they are NOT a vegetable, they are a fungus and have their very own Kingdom for crying out loud.
So stop putting them in my salads and on my pizza and in my soups!

But I love bananas and I don't mind okra and I once had some brussel sprouts in beer cheese and they were pretty dang tasty.
