His latest film "Beowulf & Grendel" is having trouble finding a U.S. distributor. Hmm, I seem to remember another movie that had trouble with marketing...

From what I've been reading, Hollywood is putting out an animated version and plans to foist that on us sometime next year. Imagine "Lord of the Rings" animated and you get the idea.

Anyway, if you like/love Gerard Butler and want to see this film here in the U.S. go here:

I just had to reply...

OMG Gerard is sexy...he was my obsession before I found Nathan. He is still a close second. :)

This movie look SO amazing! I hope it gets a US relase...It would be a real shame if it didnt.

I believe that the animated movie is entirly different from this movie (the animated movie has Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie I believe)....I'd prefer the live action Thank you very much.

Saw it at the Palm Spring FF.. it has some editing problems, but it is worth seeing on the big screen. GB does a fine job as do MOST of the cast.. scenery is incredible... It is set for release in Canada in March.. I hope it gets US distribution too, but the fact that no one bit after Toronot and PS is worrying...

this is so weird. i was just trying to find some information about this movie, like, 2 days ago. i like gerard butler, BUT... i want to see this movie because tony curran's in it. i have this deeply hormonal reaction to that guy.
i really want to see this movie! if anyone knows how to generate "grassroots" hype, it's us. it looks really good, from what little i could find about it.
i knew that the zemekis film had something to do with this not having a US release date yet. curse hollywood!

Blueishbrowncoat:

I first became aware of Gerard Butler in the History Channel's "Atilla" (I probably spelled that wrong, i'm sorry).

Then, I saw him in the 2004 movie "Phantom of the Opera". That has got to be the sexiest movie ever made (my humble opinion).

Yes, I would love to see Beowulf here on the big screen. If not, I'm sure we'll all be able to get it on DVD someday.

First saw in "Dracula 2000" and then fell in love all over again in Phantom Of The Opera. All I can say about him is...yummy.

Dear god it's good to be back to this website!

also, sounding like him, as scottish accents are divine.

i still don't understand why beowulf & grendel is having such a hard time finding a distributor. from what little i could find on it, it sounds like it's a solid movie. and i thought gerard butler was a relatively bankable actor.
lame. i want to see it.

i mean, an animated beowulf sounds like the thing the studios should be worried about making money. animated beowulf? please.

As a somewhat seasoned, older woman, it has been my experience that as men are stimulated by what they SEE (films, pictures of women), women are generally turned on by what they HEAR (music [ever wonder why women love to dance?], love letters, spoken 'I love you', etc.)

Bottom line: you don't have to be drop-dead gorgeous.

Yes you have a valid point. I once asked my best platonic girlfriend what why it was that Playgirl sold mostly to gay men and why Playboy didn't have lesbians as a part of their target market. She told me almost the same thing. She was affected by what she read. Of course that didn't stop her from checking out guys butts.

Biologically speaking it makes more sense. Women are not going to have a child with someone that can't dance, because if he doesn't have the coordination and stamina to dance he sure can't hunt and if he's can't express himself then he's a poor communicator.

you know, this is really true. i thought about it, rejected it immediately, as i like to think of myself as shallow and visually stimulated. but then i thought about it again, and it really is true. i have dated some not-so-commercially-attractive guys because they were incredibly smart or were passionate about something.
but the dancing thing... i don't know. i sure as hell can't dance, and i'm not sure i want my man dancing better than me.

i guess the accent fetish of mine counts as being stimulated by things i can hear. i turn into an idiot when there's a good-looking guy with a scottish accent around.

But back to the original inquiry about gettuing distribution... ya know.. the Browncoats did the impossible... there are a lot of GB fans out there, as many as there are browncoats perhaps.. if we could get Serenity made and the new Firefly series (which we will) you should be able to get B&G distribution... keep the faith and keep trying!!

and one tony curran fan.

yeah, let's do this. we shouldn't let a good movie get bumped for an animated, zemekis-helmed beowulf. that's just a sin.

I love Gerard Butler!

I had no idea that it was having trouble finding a distributor, I had wondered why he hadn't come out yet.

I will go see Gerard Butler in any movie. I think he's very underrated as an actor, but he can be incredibly compelling.

Plus, he's damn sexy. I mean, really, one of the most gorgeous men I think I have ever seen.

Thanks for the info!

Have you seen "Dear Frankie"? Ooooh yeah.

Dracula 2000...hehehe..really cool idea for a Dracular movie but poor execution IMHO...I just realized that Nathan is in Dracular 2000...SHINY!

Off to write a letter for beowulf...
