Deposited near her pack, Bride6 hunts around in it and uses her good hand to jam fully loaded pistols into her pair of holsters and two more into her belt. She grabs a fifth and looks around. She glances down the alley one way to where Safe is trying to hold the dumpster in position, then the other way where Bride7 just entered a cloud of smoke, then across the alley to the main gate to the hanger. “Hey, we really need to get across to that hanger, right? Ummmm…. Can I get somebody to… uh… carry me?"

Bride7 advances under the cover of her smoke grenade, heading toward the Alliance position at the end of the open alleyway. The only problem is… she’s sort of gotten lost in the smoke. “Huh! I should know better than to try to play the gorram hero! Can’t see a gorram thing!”

“Me neither!” an Alliance officer says from right next to her. “Do you think we should rush them?”

Bride7 is startled, but does not lose her composure. “Yeah, good idea. Charge them. You first!”

Still hidden in the smoke, the Alliance officer gulps, and asks, “You got my back covered?”

Bride7 grins evilly to herself. “Oh, yes!”

*Soul manages a weak chuckle, then gets up to leave the Bridge. As he gets to the door, Ath calls back, "Oh, I have a really nice collection of knives. Remind me to show them to you sometime."

The Man They Call Soul...

Soul makes his way out of the bridge and finds Rat walking through the common room. Pulling the "business man" to the side, Soul engages him in conversation. After a bit of haggling, they both head in separate directions. They meet back up again five minutes later to complete the deal. Rat walks away with the entire Serenity comic collection, all covers signed by the artists and the actors portrayed; Soul walks away with a small black box.

Then Soul walks to the shuttle bay and finds JadeHand. The two speak for a moment, and then JadeHand smiles and disappears into the Ocean Cloud, emerging a moment later with something small in his hand. Soul takes it, nods his thanks, and goes off to find his final person.

Jazaf is meditating in the water park, so Soul waits a moment until the other man sees him. They meet in a corner.

"Can you do me a small favor?" Soul asks. "Could you use your metal shaping skills to make me something?"

Jazaf nods. "Sure. Whatcha looking for?"

Soul reaches into his pocket and drops two small items into Jazaf’s palm: the diamond he had gotten from Rat, and the small sliver of platinum from JadeHand.

“I need you to shape me an engagement ring.”

Jazaf smiles a little. 'Well allright, boy scout.'
He takes the platinum and the diamond in seperate hands. Focusing his energy, the platinum bends and connects its ends making a full circle. Jazaf then places the diamond on one part of the newly formed ring and four small tendrils spiral around it. When the tendrils peak over the edge of the diamond they grab the edges and hold the diamond in place. Jazaf then makes sure that the ring itself is smooth before he tweaks it's appearance one last time. He makes the ring look as if it had been weaved from countless platinum strands. Checking his work one last time he hands it to Soul.
'There you go. Hope you like it.'
Soul puts a hand on Jazaf's shoulder.
'Thanks for the assistance.'

"That's some really nice work!"

"Thanks," Jazaf replies, and turns back to continue medetating.

"Hey," Soul says, and Jazaf turns. Soul continues. "Serenity told me about how you were the one who found my body and brought it back. You always been a good friend, and I owe you one." Soul looks down at the ring. "If this all goes as planned, and there is a wedding...you wanna be my best man?"

It's no one's fault, really. A mere trick of fate, a random happenstance, a contrived plot twist: such things happen.

Jazaf's response is clear: words may be exchanged, but merely complement the emotions of the moment. The two warriors hug in the manly fashion of those who have shared life and death and come through stronger in mind and body. Thus, for the briefest of moments, the ring is left unattended in the consummation of the immediate rapport.

And, sure 'nuff, the gorram llama sidles on by and swallows the ring, trotting away, unnoticed during the worthier interlude.

The Man They Call Soul...

OOC: Classic Cozen plot twist!!.

Soul and Jazaf talk for a moment longer, and then say their goodbyes. Soul turns to retrieve the ring from the ledge behind him, and--

The ring is gone!

It takes a moment for it to sink in. Soul stares at the spot where the ring was, and then begins to slowly look around the ledge, thinking it simply fell off. Not finding it, he begins to get a bit frantic. Sure, he could get more platinum, but the diamond was the only one Rat had. Finally, after searching all around the area, and even getting help from Jazaf, Soul stands in realization.

Someone has stolen the ring! But who?
