i had an electric guitar (peavey predator) when i was 10-12...my teacher was boring, though, so I ended up selling the guitar. It's really too bad :(

I've never been one to give anything a name: not my vehicle, not my instruments, not my computer. People always think i'm odd :o

I couldn't for the life of me say that anything incapable of reprodution like a musical instrument has only one gender. Notice I didn't say inanimant. I would say that guitars are a lot more individual than cars, and I know a whole lot more about cars than I do about guitars.

If you say so. I'm just constantly running into people who anthropomorphize everything. The more I understand technology the less I need to pretend it's something it's not. Don't get me wrong, guitars definately have personality, but that's a poetical form of description. They don't play themselves.

Says the man who started the whole conversation about guitar personalities.

I don't anthropomorphize most things. Just the normal things. Guitars, cars, vacuum cleaners (they're eeeeevil), copiers, computers (also eeeevil), tea cups.

Kidding about the tea cups.

Ahhh! Kachiko. I searched, but could not find the meaning of this name. It is listed as a Japanese girl's name, but no meaning was given. So instead I'll show you where I got it. and Share a story.
This Is Bayushi Kachiko, The Scorpion Clan Seductress:

Add this is a story from 'The Way of the Scorpion':
"It is said that when the children of Sun and Moon held their great contest to see who would rule, Bayushi stood by and watched his brothers and sisters fight, saw Shinsei and approahced him.

Bayushi said,"Little master, I have a question for you."

Shinsei said nothing, only focused on the contest.

Bayushi continued. "I hope to win the contest, but I do not know if my strategy will carry me through."

"There is more than one way to win a contest," Shinsei said.

Bayushi sat down next to Shinsei and said "Tell me."

Shinsei nodded and began.

"There was once a little frog who lived by the river side. One day, a scorpion wandered by and asked the little frog if he would carry him across the river."

Bayushi smiled. "I know this story, little master."

Shinsei frowned, "Are you sure?" He waited for a moment, still watching the contest. Bayushi fell silent and waited for him to continue.

"The scorpion said to the frog, 'carry me across the river.' The frog said, 'I will not. For if I do, you will sting me.' The scorpion said, 'I will not. For if I do, we will both drown.'"

Bayushi nodded impatiently. "Yes, yes. I have heard this story."

Shinsei frowned again. "Are you sure?" He waited for a moment, still watching the contest. Bayushi fell again and waited for him to continue.

"The frog saw Wisdom in the Scorpion's words, so he let her climb on his back and began swimming across the river. About halfway across, he felt a painful sting in his back ..."

"Yes, yes! I know this story!" Bayushi exclaimed.

Finally, Shinsei turned from the contest and looked into Bayushi's eyes.

Bayushi fell silent. "I am sorry, little master. Please continue."

Shinsei turned his eyes back to the contest. "The frog felt the scorpion's poison flow into his heart, and as death closed in on him, they both began to sink into the cold water." Shinsei paused a moment, but Bayushi remained silent. "Just before his nose slipped under the waves, the frog said, 'Scorpion, now we will both drown!" But the scorpion smiled..." Shinsei paused again and turned to look at Bayushi "... and she said, 'But little frog, I CAN SWIM.'"

In the original story, the one Bayushi thought he had heard before. The scorpion stings the frog, the frog asks "why?, now we'll both drown." and the Scorpion responds. "it is my nature". before drowning. It's supposed to be lesson on understanding the nature of things. The twist ending was to remind Bayushi of the true nature of his people.

Kachiko was their Thunder. She seduced the Emporer and weakened him with poison in an attempt to leave the throne vunerable for a coup.

anyway, so you celebrated the holiday today?

Kachiko, if it is really is Japanese, then the Ko suffix on the end means child, it's a common suffix on the end of girls names. Which is cute, but also reveals the inherent sexism of the culture. No matter how old a woman is she still considered a child. So getting back to the original issue, go find a Japanese English dictionary and look up the root word Kachi.

Oh and heres a thought for a film:
Taxi driver as a period drama.

Think of it:

Gentleman in a top hat, cane looking into a guilded mirror:
"Are you conversing with myself?"
"I do not see any one else enjoying the pleasure of our company, so you must be conversing with me."
