Just when we have a lot to say.

Right, now I want to go driving with Nos or Citizen, when they have their speedy gonzalez heads on.

you can get a Burnout on the 360? Is it out yet? my DVD rental place just started doing games on rental.

*Rubs hands together with glee*

A list of people going to S3, as far as I can remember -

Serenity
Citizen,
Cozen,
Seryn,
PsychicRiver,
Noskillz (if he not away collecting sand in his knickers)
Casualty?
Wildistart?
Limi
Simonwho
PR's 'Sandhurst crew'?

ok, there I am stuck.

stoopid brain!

(which reminds me Sean, I still haven't given you the money for my ticket. I'm paying back my brother for the plane ticket, if theres no need to hurry, I can pay you after that (ma/junish) then you have the money for the con, or I can pay you back now, or even keep it till I see you at the con, just let me know.)

I would glady give you a ride in my car, lol... if i had one. Most of my recent (last 2 years) have been in borrowed cars from ppl at work. I'm to cheap to buy a car, and the AF doesn't pay me enough to pay a car note and still have a computer that doesn't suck, so i'm stuck between my two loves and i went with teh easier one (computers).

Yes Burnout 4 is on the 360.

and you aint lieing about the sand Seryn

-edit- and on the talk of me loving compuetrs. I jsut found out why my temp replacement computer doesn't work. Old BIOS was the problem, but i can't fix it without a floppy (which idont have cuz who uses those anyways?!). But i love my computer again (i was yelling at it last night)... so yes, i just needed to tel someone, lol

Thanks for the list Seryn, this will be fantastic. I can hardly wait.

Okay, I'm now planning to book airline tix such that I arrive Heathrow Sept. 11th (heh).

Whaddya'll think: Do I reserve hotelage in London at that time? Or do I allow 2 - 3 days to bop around the UK and make inconvenient visits upon the BritFFfolk?

Keeping in mind that our dear Serenity is sorta planning to arrive on the 12th (I do believe). And that the Limster may or may not show up during some interval or udder.

I'm going with in. That's in, actually, yes, I'm planning to be in London in Sept (if that's clear enough)! I don't know if it's factual, but I can't wait longer to plan, and that means buying the S3 tix and booking a room. I would love to share a room. If you book it, I will send you a check, or whatever you prefer. w00t!

I'm not sure I understand how to book the S3... there was a website? Anybody have that handy?

http://www.starfury.co.uk/

After several tries (and a wrongish # or two, heh), I gave up with the phoning Sean Harry and booked through the website, adding province (ie., state) and nation to the "comments" section. How's that for a wing and a prayer, eh?

I'm gonna book a room in Londontown, with the notion that at least one other shall be sharing, that be our fine Miss Serenity. My post, above, is a throwing into the wind as to suggestions regarding the "when" of it all. In any case, I shall book hotel space in London for at least the dates covering the convention, such that in a worst (best?!) case scenario I'm open to sharing said room with others who may be in need of bunk/floor space.

I'll also be renting (allright, fine, hiring) an autocarmobile just in case out-of-London journeys segue into the travelling plans, though I'm not so much of a fool as to believing that a car is anything but a liability within said metropolis.

Hope this sorta helps.
c.

I've been to London... maybe half a dozen times, but not seen much of the rest of it, and I would be up for pretty much anything.
Yeah, I think it's silly to try to drive in London unless you're used to it, the transit system is just too good. I will pitch in for any auto and other related expenses. Holy fab trip batman! and thanx for the website and contact info, I will book con tix now too.

Oh, and I forgot N0S might need a room, I assumed he booked last week... you hoo, N0S - did you book?

Seryn, thanks a bunch for the list. There are still some names I don't see on it that I am really hoping to see appear....

One of my best friends has a 3 month gig as a research assistant on Orcas Island, so I'm going up to Seattle Friday to help her move and spend a long weekend on the island. Should be ver fun, but I'll be unavailable for comment (I doubt there's wi-fi in the wilderness yet, so the laptop stays here) from tomorrow afternoon till Tuesday or so. If you need a check right away, I could pop one in the mail Fri AM.

This is going to be fuuuuuuun!

Limmi- i just found out the chances of me deploying in september are very good. So i have not got a hotel room, cuz i might not even be going, damn'd AF messing up my plans . lol

Also I was thinking of making CON badges that you could print out in purtty colors and wear in those lil CON holder things some cons give out (idk if S3 will have em)
the holders look like this
http://sail.en.alibaba.com/product/50001686/50021312/Badge_Holders/Cle
ar_Rigid_Holder.html

I'ma start on some Photoshop ideas for the Randomites, and they could easily be modified for the Loofers, whatever groups are coming. It makes use easily idenitfiable to each other!

-edit-
i think i may buy a pack or two of these and i can mail them to whoever wants one

I've been thinking about it for awhile, but since I've got a Laptop for work, my own Laptop that outperforms most desktops and a Desktop that is just stupidly powerfull I can't really justify the expense of even the cheapest Apples which cost £699 over here.

As and when the warrenty and life expectancy of my current laptop expires I may consider an Apple as a replacement machine, unless I can pickup a cheap second hand but reasonably good Apple in the meantime...

Then they can call me CitizenIsThe Five Laptop Man.

That's a shiny idea NOS.

I already have my badge covers and badges from Dragon*Con from last year and my luuverly $5 Browncoat Lanyard, which I plan to bring and wear again to D*C and perhaps S3, so if there are badges, I am totally set. I will of course, bring and wear my official Team Random shirt. Because I am a proud, initiated member of Team Random! *does the TR cheer, if there is one*

Wils: What day are you arriving in the UK for S3? Do you know yet?

My plan is to arrive on the 12th, morningish. I want to take an overnight flight leaving on the 11th. And then leave on Monday the 18th.

And, for all of you that don't have to fly 8hrs or so to get there, when are you planning to arrive in London for S3?

And for you that already live there: when are you planning to be around for fun and festivities?

Anyone want to volunteer to show us around? I must get a day of sight-seeing in.

I know it's early yet, but considering tickets were bought in January, I don't think it's too early to start stetching out plans.

OH! And if we were to take a day or 2 to leave London and see the sights, where are some good places to go, some interesting things to see? Any advice from locals would be most appreciated.

And if anyone wants a pre S3 visit-speak up now!!

(I think that's enough to be getting on with for the time being, so I'm going to be quiet now.)

Hhaha, 'All your base are belong to us!' good stuff, classic even.

Yes i am hoping also. but it makes it very hard to plan ahead (something i dont often do). cuz i don't wanna get a hotel room, and then have to cancel at the last minute. But i don't wanna just rely on someone having open floor space. argh, this is what i get for being in the military, my first con in 3 years and i don't even know if i'll be able to go!

As for hacking, i just build them, doing things software wise is hard, i think thats why i failed those classes in college, haha.

and why can't i get a buster sword for my b-day?!
