*Serenity lowers herself carefully onto the sofa next to him and pulls an apple out of her pocket.*

Hungry? No? Well, I am.

*Serenity takes a bite out of the apple.*

Well, Needy, you asked about why everyone seems to recognize you. I don't really know much about that, but I'll tell you what I know.

Awhile back, a strange person who looked quite a bit like you, crashed his shuttle and spent some time with us. He said his name was Needy. But he didn't recognize me.

Now, at that time, no one on the TREE knew about my past, so I thought it best to just play along. Honestly, at first I couldn't tell if you..er him, just didn't remember me or were pretending you didn't remember me to protect us. But he was a bit....odd, and I decided that it wasn't really you. I'm not sure who, or what he was, but he wasn't YOU. Does that make sense?

Needy: Not really.

CMS: Sorry, but that's all I've got. But that's why I said I thought you should play along. How do we explain that there are two of you?

Now, how are you doing? I can't tell you how sorry I am that I've caused you so much trouble. You've had to abandon the life you've made for yourself, and I know you're having a hard time adjusting. It took me awhile, too. Let me know what I can do to help you out.

And it is SO good to see you again!

*JadeHand collects a device with which to sweep for transmitters and heads to cargo bay C3. There He meets up with Sparky and together they go over the shipping containers that contain the platinum. A hour later they have covered every possibility, twice, and found nothing out of the ordinary. Together they move the cargo back to the bay, and load up the Admiral Nelson .
JadeHand Asks Sparky about spare ammunition, and takes the time to finish reloading the Admiral Nelson .*

"Well that was a needed distraction." he says to himself, then turns to Sparky. "Thank you for your help Sparky. If you have other things you need to tend to, I think we're done here."

*Sparky wonders off back towards the common room. JadeHand steps on board the shuttle and finds a comfortable chair. He reaches into his bag and retrieves a notepad and a pencil. He goes over his checklist of parts again, making small modifications. Then he flips several pages into the pad, and begins to make small sketches on the side of the page as he also begins to write out some the images that have filled his mind. His mind has raced with the possibilities that have surrounded him lately, and the entanglements that delay, if not prevent them. He doesn't know what the future holds, he wants these things in his head more than his next breath. Only time will tell if they will be available to him. He is a patient man. He wants, he waits.... He puts the pad safely away, and leans back into his chair, places in feet in an adjacent chair and goes to sleep, his head full of dreams yet to come................."

Seryn watches the guys disappear one after the other. "Well I guess thats Jadehand taking care of the platinum and the shuttle prep."

She studies the star chart again, then folds it up and tucks it away. Just as she spots Serenity walk into the room and drop herself down on the sofa. Abling over she waits again until they've stopped talking, then offers her hand to help Serenity up.

"Hey, I wanted to talk to you. I was wondering if you... well, how would you like me to make your dress for you? For the wedding I mean. Would you like that?"

"...um, the second question was, we're heading for garrison, and after that I have stuff to do on a nearby commerce planet, I thought it would be a great chance for us to spend the day ooohing and ahhhing over purty fabrics and lacy bits. What do you say?"

Shopping, and, at some point, cake!
Well, I'll see you very soon, We're at Garrison now, but no-body seems to be moving. Speak to Soul, see if he's willing to come with you, and i'll buzz you as soon as I know whats happening."

They say their goodbyes, and she returns to her room and checks on the rabbits, who in her absence have shreaded a few sheets and built a small nest under a coffee table in the corner.

"did it have to be the 200 count egyptian cotton?
Oh, goodness Esme, if you don't have them soon your going to burst. Yeah, don't look so smug Archie."

She tucks them both back up, leaves a plate of food nearby, packs a small bag with money, sellable jewellry, chewing gum and the star chart, readys her gunbelt and falls sound asleep on the bunny savaged bed.

Needy still looks confused as he begins to help his heavily pregnant friend up.

"There's just one thing that I don't understand..." He starts

"And what's that?" She asks

"It's erm... just... EVERYTHING. It doesn't make sense... any of this! Nothing makes one bit of sense!"
His voice has now become raised, so much so that others, who were once minding their own business, now turn their attention to the newcomer.

Serenity takes a step back - she hadn't seen him like this before.

Needy took a moment to calm himself down. As frustrating his situation was, he knew that screaming wasn't going to help any.

"I'm sorry." he apoligises "I'm just having a bad day... days. Everythings changed and I guess it's taken its toll."

Serenity smiles trying to offer comfort.

"I don't know if you heard but I've been through some pretty weird stuff of late."

"I hear you had a near death experience."

Needy shrugs and nods. There was nothing near death about it, he thought

"Must have been scary"

"...and to come back here and have people I've never met before tell me they know me, and now you're telling me that I was here before but I wasn't, that there was some doppleganger of me of some sort... it's shaping up to be a big headache."

"I can imagine" Serenity replies, before analyzing what she said and adding "well, I guess I really can't"

"If only... wait, the THREAD machine you have... was that installed when the other me was here?"

"Yeah"

"Soooo, that might have some answers?"

"You can give it a shot"

"I'll do that" Needy resolves before looking intently at Serenity. "It really is good to see you again. Sorry if I freaked you out a minute ago"

"Don't worry about it." Serenity smiles at him.

As he walks off to the databank, she spots a few friends and continues to mingle.

"Ha! Haven't seen that in a while...a long while."

* He collects his belongings and steps off the shuttle. He glances over and realizes he still has his torn sleave tied around his no longer very damaged arm.*

"Looks like I have some time, I better get cleaned up and ready."

*JadeHand walks out and down a flight of stairs then heads back to his apartment to shower, shave, and dress for business.*

*JadeHand is surprised to find a note on his mirror, when he steps out of the shower, and perhaps a little disappointed someone didn't stop in to say hi. He takes the note and chuckles. He dries himself re-dresses in fresh clothing reaquired from Cozen's room, and checks his weapons and tags and other supplies in his bag. Satisfied he returns to the hanger bay and finds SR leaning against the shuttle tapping his foot*

APRILISE

Slowly awareness began to intrude on her, her screams and cries subsiding, her shaking slowing to a tremble. Shadow saw Ghost curled up beside her, still crying. Rubbing the younger girl’s back, the two sat together rocking slowly and calming each other. Taking a deep breath to calm the last of her tremors, and looked around the room they were in. It was a nice room, a guest room she assumed, a good sized bed with fluffy flowery bedding and warm inviting furniture. She did wonder where everyone else was, she knew her screams had been loud enough, here sore throat was enough evidence of that and adults usually responded to children’s screams, well at least that’s what was supposed to happen when adults care. Slowly she got out of the bed, Ghost following closely behind her. They’d probably been dumped again, but they had been put in a nice room and they had been left in their pretty dresses.

She didn’t want to leave this place. That realization made Shadow freeze for a moment. She really didn’t want to leave here. They’d only been there for less than a day and there were so many people but something told her this would be a good place for her and Ghost. Remembering they still had to grab their backpacks from the shuttle they arrived in Shadow and Ghost quietly left the mallorn tree and began wandering the halls of the sereni-tree, getting to know the place that would hopefully be their new home as they searched for the shuttle they had arrived on.

having woken up later than she expected, thrown warm water at her self and changed into a fresh shirt, she does an excellent job of hiding the fact that she's just run like a headless chicken to get to the hangar bay. She crosses to stow her bag and guns away in the shuttle, waves to JH and turns back round.

"Besides, we need either TRM and Rat and the others, or Serenity Ebo and their honour guard. So slow down.
If your worried about the Alliance, this is a industry planet, they are going to be there. But its also an independant planet. Something tells me they're kept under control. And we are here for legitimite trading. If you're jumping round like a bug on a griddle they're gonna think we've got something to hide. As far as I know there are no warrents out for any of us, we'll be ok.

*pauses*
There are no warrants out on any of us? Are there?
Well never mind, we'll deal with that if as and when it arises. Until that moment *straightens her coat* we are respectable business people"

Kelly calls Safe as she sprints down the hallway. "Safe, I've lost the girls, are they with you?"

"No, sorry Kelly. I'll keep an eye out."

Kelly turns a corner and cries out with relief. The two girls are holding hands with Sparky, who appears to be leading them toward the common room.

"Ai! You scared me, little ones! Is everything okay? Please let me know if you want to go somewhere. We don't want to lose you!"

Shadow glances at Ghost, who promptly bursts into tears. Kelly gathers them both into her arms.

"Oh no, no, it's ok little Ghost. I'm not angry. I was just worried about you."

Shadow's voice is barely above a whisper. "You were?"

"Yes, little Shadow. Tell me, where were you going?"

"To get our stuff. We left it in the ship."

"Let's go together, is that alright?" Kelly asks as she stands.

"Yes, I'd like that," Ghost says, and Shadow nods.

Hand in hand, they walk to Safe's shuttle, and Kelly wonders just what she is to do with these two little lost vagabonds.

Oh, Mai! I'm so pleased!

There are still so many details to work out, I don't even know where to begin.

BUT, we've entered into orbit over Garrison now and Seryn wants to take me shopping for fabrics. She's going to make my dress. Do you want to come, too? And we can talk about details on the way!

They're leaving pretty soon, so we need to get ready.

And I have to go find Soul.

*Mai and Serenity part and Serenity heads towards the Security Office to find Soul. On the way, she runs into Kelly with Shadow and Ghost in tow.*

Hello girls! Taking good care of Miss Kelly, I see!

*She winks at the girls and gives Kelly a relieved look over their heads. As she continues on, she makes a mental note to pick up a few things for the girls while she's planetside. Clothes, definitely, since they were both wearing outfits that were worse for wear, and a few toys.*

*Finally, she makes it to the Security Office where Soul is sitting in his chair, working at his computer.*

Hello, love! *she says, kissing him on the cheek.*

We've nearly arrived at Garrison. Seryn is going to take me shopping for wedding things. I also thought I'd pick up a few things for the girls. They obviously don't have much. Do you want to come with?

Seryn's brow knits, "Cannonball? What are you talking about?"

"That which in time will come forth and be know as 'Spawn of Seryn' and then eventually 'Son of Seryn'."

Seryn laughs. "Just fine" and then she looks worried. "Am I showing allready?" SR shakes his head in a negative. She takes the apple and has a bite. "It's tasty, thanks."

She knows that SR is one of the few people that can be trusted completely not to slip a griswald on her.

SR winces inside at the symbolism of the act, but remains impassive.

"Well captn' I'm going to get a seat and some sleep. I sense this will take awhile."

Kelly returns the look of relief from Serenity and continues on to the common room. Suddenly, an idea strikes her and she turns around.

"Attention Treefolk, the Admiral Nelson will be departing for planetside in approximately 30 minutes. If Quincey would kindly join us in the hanger bay, we'll be ready soon. Anyone interested in shopping for frilly bits, black market beagles, 8 balls, general supplies, or just wanting some fresh air, bring yourselves to the Hanger bay. Anyone in need but unable to go, send your messages through the coms, we'll do what we can. Cheers."

*JadeHand releases the com and pokes his head out of the shuttle to see Quincey running fullspeed towards the shuttle, still pulling her clothes on.*

Quincey: "I....I ...I get to fly?" she asks, nearly out of breath.

JadeHand: "Sure, but not a scratch, you understand? I don't want any trouble. Slow, smooth, steady pace. Let's not draw any unwanted attention."

*Quincey jumps onboard and heads to the pilot seat.*

Kelly, we'd LOVE for you to make our wedding cake!

And actually, I had an idea about the cake.

I was thinking a nice, rich chocolate cake with layers of fresh strawberries and chocolate mousse. Frosted in chocolate. Swiss chocolate, if we can get it. And then, I'd like to decorate it with whole strawberries and fresh flowers from my garden.

What do you think, Soul?

*Ath awakes in Kelly's mallorn tree, alone and disoriented, yet feeling much better. After getting to his feet and getting his bearings, Ath realizes that Kelly and the girls are gone. Figuring that she took them to the kitchen to get them some food, he decides to head to the bridge and see about doing his job.

On his way out, Ath looks over at the newborn Piffleponies and wonders if Shadow and Ghost would like to learn to ride.

Upon arriving at the Bridge, Ath checks out the damage to the ship. While doing so, he notices a switch that he'd never seen before. It's labeled "serious" and it's turned to "on". Feeling daring, he flicks the switch to "off".

Ath is suddenly stricken with an urge to take a dip in the chocolate jaccuuzi, which he promptly succumbs to.*

"Anyone care to join me?"

"Invader's blood marches through my veins like giant radioactive rubber pants. The pants command me! Do not ignore my veins!"

Shadow took Kelly’s hand as the elf woman led them through the ship. She couldn’t remember an adult who had truly ever been worried about both of them since “it” happened. Ms. Luthien seemed sincere though. Though some adults acted nice at first. She tried to squash the small sliver of hope that had been growing steadily inside her, this wouldn’t last. Nothing ever lasted long.

Shadow and Ghost stood in the corner of the room listening quietly to the adults conversation. Ghost’s mouth watering a little at the delicious cake Ms. Serenity had described. These adults were nice and they made yummy food.

Shadow stood there thinking her mind wandering a little. Suddenly she stopped the conversation catching her ear. They were going to be near a trading planet, landing even. She wondered if she could go. If she was remembering correctly her and Ghost’s birthday was in only a few days, maybe she’d be able to pickpocket enough on the planet for a gift or steal one. There was a little bit of money in their pack but nowhere near enough for a present. It was barely enough for a day or two of food.

Making a decision she looked at the adults. Ms. Luthien would notice the minute she left, she saw her watching them out of the corner of her eye. Looking at Ghost again she knew the girl had forgotten about the day. One more birthday without presents or a cake would not make a difference to her, she barely knew what a birthday was. Parties were something they only heard about second hand. Maybe she’d try.

Wandering around a bit she watched the adults talk before trying to sneak out the door only to be stopped by a hand on her shoulder. Turning around she saw Ms. Luthien behind her.
