White Noise 2 Whiter and Noiser to the Max!
Yeah Yeah that was just silly but I'll probably see this movie anyway. You gotta support the ones you love even if it takes to the sequal place of a movie you really didn't like very much the first time.

Hey, I saw the first one. Yes, it was overdone, but it could've been a lot worse. (Not much of an endorsement, I know. )

Still, I'm doubly-bound to see this puppy. Not only does it star our Big Damn Cap'n, it has Katee Sachoff (of Battlestar Galactica, my other favorite sci-fi show) sitting second chair.

Nathan's a smart guy. He knows that the movie is low on the totem pole in terms of artistic creativity and box-office draw. But (and I stress the but), both of these actors are on their way up, and at this point keeping their feet in the door is paramount for their careers.

Besides, it's not considered the actors' faults if a movie's storyline isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread. Provided they don't screw up, of course...

It was so funny at Fangoria a few weeks ago... Someone asked the Slither panel what their upcoming projects were. They went down the line and when Nathan mentioned he was doing "White Noise 2" the whole room just fell silent- you could hear crickets. Then out of the gaping pause someone in the crowd just said, "Why?" There was an eruption of laughter and for the first time since they came out on stage, Nathan didn't know what to say. I felt so embarrased for him there for a minute but it was really funny because everyone in the room was thinking the same thing.
Nathan recovered quickly, though, by acting like he was gonna come off stage and fight the guy.

And I guess the producer? of White Noise 2 was there. He said he had many millions of reasons why there were doing a sequel, pointing out the amount of $ the first one made.

I think its great that Nathan's got another big movie lined up...... but I don't think this is going to help convince the world he's the star we all know he is.

The general consensus White Noise was that it was in a word "shit" from the press and public alike. So odds are the sequels going to be just as bad, if not worse.

I've no doubts that even if the scripts dire, Nathan will still be awsome in it (lets face it, on his day he produce on oscar worthy performance from a script a baby rever wrote!), but people who see it will associate him with a bad film.... and might think less of him.

Sorry if I'm being a bit pesimistic here, I just really don't think its the best choice of film for this point in Mals career, when he's finally being noticed for the brilliant actor he is, and being tipped for great things.

Dave

N.B Just to be fair, I've never seen White Noise, but every magazine review I read and friend that went to see it gave it a clear thumbs down.

I quite agree. Even if an actor is great, people remember their films as a whole. Personally, when I see an actor in a bad flick or a series of bad ones, it makes me think less of their judgment and I have increasingly less and less of a will to see their next projects. Harrison Ford, for example. I have always loved him but because of his last several film choices, I had little to no will to want to see this latest flick.

Unfortunately, I have seen the first White Noise. Aside from being creeped out by the idea that the movie is based on a real phenomenon, I would just have to describe it as bland and easily forgettable.

Hey who knows maybe after this he'll get a better script or whatever. I mean look at Terii Hatcher. She was in that Superman tv show and after a while pretty quiet on the rader and then all the sudden BLAM! Despreate Housewives, Golden Globes nominations, etc. Who knows what could happen. I'm going to go see it in support of Nathan. I love the guy! Sense of humor. Big Damn sexy!

I can't believe I use Teri Hatcher as an example. She was the only person I can think of.

I didn't mean anything by it. I was just making an example of how she was pretty popular during that show and then nothing for awhile and suddenly stardom.

SERYN

and in the mean time she did dodgy movies just to keep her foot in the door - Die another Day or whatever it was, that vastly inferiour version of a Bond movie she was in.

The sad fact of Hellwood is that at the moment its less about doing his greatest work and more about making sure he sticks in the memories of casting people everywhere. And memories tend to work better when there are dollar signs attatched. Brenden Fraser did guff like dudly doright and bedazzled at the same time he was doing stuff like Gods and Monsters, I just hope that Nathan manages to do work because he loves the project enough to make the one his agent probably thinks are a good idea worth it.

Then again, White Noise 2 could turn out to be a revelation (I doubt it, but...)

So, going to see it, going to enjoy the performances of two actors I admire, then going home and attempting to scour out my brainpan.

Well, I'm an optimist by nature, so I'm just going to hope that people start lobbing better scripts in Nathan's general direction. Work is work, and any actor knows that he or she has to take the best that's on the table when they can. It's not their fault if Steven Spielberg doesn't call.

Does anybody have Steven Spielberg's number? I need to make a phone call about a certain Captian.

White Noise was horrible, but I have to show my support for Nathan. I'll see White Noise 2 because of him. It isn't the first time I've seen a movie because I favored an actor. IE: Red Eye/ Rachel McAdams. I rest my case.

Yeah, but he was known as the wrong Ryan for awhile. How about a bigger role?

I actually heard that White noise was ok but I'll see White Noise 2 just because of Nathan. I'm even considering seeing Slither because of him and those types of movie ain't my thing.

White Noise wasn't too bad for most of the film. Not great, but not too bad. Then there was the sucky ending. Sucky as in, made me wonder why I even watched the rest of the movie. I felt like I just watched a long commercial for Ghost Hunters or something.
Still, I'll probably check it out just for Nathan Fillion. I mean, I've even watched a whole cheesy Lifetime movie (Water's Edge) just for Nathan Fillion.

History abhors a paradox.
