what that rule? a minute for every year of their life?

Right Seany, I'm not sure how old you are, but i'm guessing around twenty five, so out you go!

Sit on those steps there, 25 minute and think about what you've done!

*cracks whip*

(not really apropriate for small children, but I think Sean can handle it)

I had a whip once (think calm thoughts Jadehand)The president of our student union had a big thing for Indiana Jones, and turned up at a halloween party at my place in the full outfit, Hat whip bag et al. It looked great, someone asked where he got the whip from, as he'd never managed to complete his Indy props (yeah right the room thought) but he wouldn't tell, so we got him pissed as a rat, and it turned out that he'd got it from a sex shop, but not wanting to look like a total pervert, he'd gone in his full costume and even quote lines at the girl in the store so that she couldn't possibly think he was some s&m enthusiast lawyer.

Anyway, he forgot it. God knows where it is now.

I wish he'd left the hat instead.

Well, then you can stay for 24 minutes on the naughty step. But, if you get off the step for any reason, you have to start all over.

And after 24 minutes, we want an apology and then you can run outside and play.

Great! Just Great!
I leave for a little while and Seryn is Cracking a Whip (my thoughts are very calm and focused), Serenity is pulling Nanny duty and handing out kisses for good behavior, ( *wonders what he gets for bad behavior....looks at the whip) Mattie is talking about her good diciplinarian skills, And now there's a Naughty Step???
"you guys built a step...on account of me?"
And people wonder how I get these wonderful thoughts in my head...

Goes to his new home on the step, and waits to be punished.

not just for you sweetie. any of you guys get out of line and its the Step for you.

Any behaviour worse than that and... I'll let Serenity take that one.
Not particularly liking any of the children that I come into contact with (other than my niece and the children of friends that i've gotten to know), my idea of punishing them would probably lead to the need for theraphy as an adult.

I'n fact if the worst ever happens and I become a mother, my first saving fund that I open for them will be their payments for coulnselling and possibly admittance to a nice comfy friendly clean facility with padded walls.

I will make a terrible terrible parent.

There is a learning curve involved. It's worth it in my opinion but expect a few false starts before you figure out how to make things work in your nation. I started with Civ 2 and I think it took a week before I eked out my first win and about a month till I finally groked it enough to routinely win. Civ 3 took a lot longer for some reason but Civ 4 was much easier to get up and running with and removed some of the tedium that had crept into civ 3 (while adding a little bit of it's own.) so if you're just starting out go with 4. (Or 2 but finding a copy and then getting that to run under xp can be a drag.)

Read the manual and start off with the tutorial then just play around a bit untill you get comfortable with the game. For the first few games go with the smaller maps (tiny or small - battle is just a bit too small) that'll speed play while you learn. Also choose Roosevelt as your leader, he's good at the city developement stuff and should make the game easier to play to begin with and more rewarding along the length of the game.

A word of warning unless you are running with a bit better than the recomended specs you will have performance issues out of the box. There is a patch available for that problem now so after you install go straight to the website for the download.

Or are you just saying that to get a kiss out of Serenity, which isn't a bad motive I suppose...

Two parralel cuts into the muscle of the thumb, 15 sutures total. Not deep enough to hit the tendons. How it happened, trip and fall with a object in hand that cut upon contact. Am I all right? I can't give a objective answer to that one. It doesn't always hurt. As for trying to con CMS out of a kiss, well I'm a pirate, if I want something bad enough I just take it. No need for a con job.

Me Too. My only real concern is infection and so far everything is good. It's annoying keeping clean. It reminds me of that Zen question, "what is the sound of one hand washing?" That and I'm on restricted duties at work, one hand only. It's like watching Doctor Strangelove. I keep catching myself using my left hand when I'm not supposed to. Things like telephones and such.
Point of clarification on my last post, you do realize I was joking right? I might be a pirate, sort of, but I can think things through, and what you can't con or take is friendship and I consider you folks to be, my friends. I want my friends to be happy, so I guess that leads up to the next question.

How was the Renn Faire?

you could even get them a leash and feeding bowl right there.

Or you could go with the standard lurky person, any street corner, there they are.

CALLMESERENITY

ewww. Pet tape worm!

I had a Pet Gordy once. He was a kid in my youth group that was so very well behaved and helpful and always at my elbow asking if there was something I could do, so I started calling him my Pet Gordy. Cute kid (he's probably grown up, married with kids now!)

JadeHand: I can't believe I missed the No Touching conversation in tag!!! *snerk*

(and just why did Cedric say "no touching indeed? Hmmmm? )

TRISTAN

*wanders into the thread gasping, out of breath, red-faced, and tired*

Did y'all know the elevator's broken?

I stumbled across this thread by accident, and have read a good deal of the posts from the first floor up through this one...but I am not sure of the topic at the moment. Yes, I am a newbie (member since April 4, 2006), so I am not sure of the rules, etc. regarding this thread. If I am not supposed to be here, I will gladly disappear...but I need to rest for a moment; sixteen flights'll kill ya!

Holding until you get back, Captain.
