Thank you, Serenity!

I have a completely unrelated question...not sure if I need to start another thread, or just ask...it relates to your signature line. I just don't want to clutter up our nice lake retreat with way off-topic stuff. Let me know.

You want to know how I became president of the chatroom? Or what Destiny is?

Ask away. (Have you not yet noticed how very random and unpredicted our conversations are?)

Besides, I could use the distraction. Someone Else is making me annoyed today.

Yes, it is in fact about the Destiny .
The juggled goslings I think I understand, but the First Officer has me intrigued. Does it have anything to do with the Sereni-Tree threads?
And thanks for humoring me...yes, the conversations do tend to go abit plaid at times.

Tristan: Storytime.

Before the movie came out, the Universal Board (which is no more) started a thing where you could form crews and do challenges to accue credits towards buying items in their little online store. So, SoulofSerenity formed a crew. And I called dibs on First Mate. We fly in a Firefly called Destiny and we have many fun adventures, along the lines of the TREE, but not quite.

There were a few challanges, a photo scavanger hunt and something else, I forget. But the movie came out and board closed and most of the crews fell apart. But we kept ours going and have craaaazy adventures. It's much fun. Our latest thread was floating around here somewhere yesterday. I haven't seen it today.

And the Juggled Gosling is what we've dubbed the chatroom. I somehow or another got elected president, it was rather fun. I recently got revoted in. I have a cabinet and secretaries and a VP and a Left-tenent and even a First Man, I think. JadeHand is my Secretary in charge of the Presidential Alcohol Cabinet. He does a wonderful job.

Ah, ok. I understand now. Before FFF, I had joined another board that had crews, etc., but it was only around for a few days before it closed (browncoats.com, I think?). It all sounded like fun, as do several of the threads around here (Sereni-Tree gives me a chuckle every now and again).
I have not yet had a chance to play in the chat room yet. I will soon, though, maybe this weekend..

Thank you for the explanation!

I like camping. I like hiking. I like trees and water and sleeping under the stars and the smell of a campfire and playing my guitar around the campfire under the stars and eating food cooked on the campfire under the stars and staying up late playing UNO by the light of a lantern under the stars.

I always sleep so well when I go camping. All that fresh air, I guess.

and of course, the exauhstion that comes from humping everything about the countryside has nothing to do with it.

No, i liked camping as well. I've never done it properly though. (not that I can, with my tent being a bright floral Kath Kidson print)

If I ever find my own canadian hunk, i'll make camping a priority.

Humping...floral tent...nah, I pride myself in being a gentleman. See, the word "humping" was/is also used by the U.S. military (I believe) to denote carrying large loads of supplies to and fro...I am not sure where it began.
In our Browncoat world, it means something else entirely. I am going to give Seryn the benefit of the doubt and say she was going with the first choice.

ah, broadband, in some ways, it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever, in others, its absolutely indispensible.

but more importantly cookies!

I bought oatmeal and raisin (I likes) anyone want one?

does anyone remember making these things at camp, you make like a dough, and you wrap it around the end of a stick (well, we used metal rods, but i'm sure you can use other stuff) wrap it in foil and cook it over the fire (i'm told you could leave it to bake in the ashes as well) then when its cooked you filled the hole where the stick was with jam or spiced apple mix or something.

Anyone remember them?

No it's not that, it's just grapes slave their entire lives, then they shrink and become wrinkled in their old age, which must be bad enough, and rather than letting them enjoy their retirement people cook them into cookies and eat them.

It's sad, very very sad.

I prefer the grapes before they turn into raisins, too...but I prefer them fermented, bottled and corked, preferably after having lived in the Bordeaux region of France for awhile first (about the only thing I like about France).

Not sure how that would go with the s'mores, though...if I had a choice, I'll stick with the s'mores and save the wine for later.

Grapes aren't evil, they're sweet, and misunderstood. You can't judge an entire body of fruit by the actions of a few of the fringe branches.

You know Sun Maid is marketed to Grapes as a retirement home.

And the French, they don't even wait for retirement, "come be something larger than yourself with hundreds of years of tradition" they say.

Bastards.

yes, but think of how many people choke on grapes every year! And the cunning way they have managed to punish people who eat to many of their kind in Raisin form. (think of the man hours lost to human industry!)

grapes are, in point of fact, evil. They must be rounded up and made to keep sick people company, before being flayed alive and eaten.

Oh, yeah, we're already doing that.

I'm never going to look at someone peeling grapes the same way again.

Did grapes wrong you in this or another life? There are some fruits I do not care for, but I have never considered fruiticide on any of them. Art thou not a fan of the fruit of the vine? How about grape jelly? Raisin Bran (never mind that one...you have a point about humanity's lost hours)? Grape juice? Being fed grapes by hand while lounging in absolute comfort while being fanned by those huge, palm-looking leaves?

They have many benefits, Seryn.

maybe is cause i've never had the chance to lay about in absolute comfort being fanned and eating grapes that I dislike them so much. (but by that reasoning, i'd also hate cushions and nubile young men wearing very little, which I really don't)

Hang on, I don't dislike grapes! I love them, they is yummy and cool and they go squish and are all juicy and sweet, and then you eat them with greek yoghurt and they are extremely nice.

I was simply endeavouring to point out how bad grapes are to make Sean feel less bad about the cruel fate suffered by the raisins in his raisin and oatmeal cookie.

This is like the angst thing all over again!
