May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Well, I am upping the ante this month browncoats. Starting this afternoon the wife & I will be working out together. She is tired of her old gym & since she is training for the Mrs Virginia USA pageant coming up this weekend, she decided we could both benefit from mutual coaching. She is going to help me w/ my program since she is a lot more knowledgable about fitness & I can help spot her & inspire her to push herself.

Also starting this week I will be not only hitting the gym Monday, Wednesdays, & Fridays, but will be going Tuesdays & Thursdays too. Tue & Thu will be strictly cardio to help assist in my weight loss. I will still do light cardio on Mon, Wed, & Fri, as well as weights.

This weekend I got in some biking. Did 14 miles on my mountain bike on the trails Saturday & another 9 on Sunday. Got some walking in Friday afternoon; 2.5 miles at lunch & another 4 in the evening.

Touching your toes can be a great accomplishment. It shows improvement and that is wonderful.

I worked a rodeo this weekend and a conservative estimate puts me at 7.5 hours in the saddle. Not bad. Except I hit my leg on a post so that put a dent on my yoga and fit ball(still have some balance issues with the gorram thins). Will try to add some time with my Warrior of Middle Earth game to change up the routine a little and keep me off the floor.

Just got back from 1 mile of jogging and 1 mile of walking! It's only 1:20pm here and I'm already done with my exercise for today! Go me!

Worked out w/ the wife last night. We did weights for 30 minutes, then we did cardio. Did 2 miles on the treadmill at a jog. Then put in another 7 miles on the bike. Did 3 sets of 25 on the ol' crunch sit ups. Feeling it today.

I'll be hitting the gym again today for straight cardio.

Hi all! Walked today for about and hour, but of course I forgot my stupid pedometer so I don't know how far it was. I'm thinking I might do my pilates dvd tonight as well. Tomorrow is my kickboxing dvd--I watched it the other day, and boy does it look hard! It'll definitely burn some calories!

Anyway, good work everyone

So I completely forgot to update yesterday. Obviously, I was overly concerned with obtaining more aloe and passing out.

Anyway, I went for a 30 minute run outside yesterday! OUTSIDE! I NEVER run outside ever. I must have been feeling mildly manic and partially crazed to make myself to that late last night.

Tomorrow I head to the gym again.

Wasn't that bad. I did 45 minutes of cardio. Treadmill & bike mostly, but did some crunch sit ups and some time on the cross trainer too.

I was beat when I got home. Went to bed at like 10pm, which is pretty early for me.

Trust me when I tell you it is not to show off. Only a masochist would put themselves through this 5 days a week! LOL! Nope, just trying to lose weight. With summer around the corner I am eager to get into good shape.

Just got back from the gym. 30 minutes on the stair master and another 30 on the elliptical. While stretching, I discovered that I can now touch my toes. Yay.

However, I stepped on the scale and it says I've gone up 5 pounds! EXCUSE ME?!?!?!?! I'm pretty sure it's accurate because I hadn't eaten yet at the time of my workout.

In light of the new info, I'm going to repost stats so I have a new place to work from.

Did you get on the scale before or after your workout? I heard that you're not supposed to weigh yourself after cause it won't be accurate.

Sassalicious, muscle weighs more than fat, so perhaps you're gaining a lot of muscle? Also, if it's that time o' the month, you might be retaining water.

Today I tried my kickboxing dvd for the first time, and amazed myself that I was able to get through the whole thing without stopping! Go me!

I already feel better. Stronger, healthier, more flexible. Not sure if I've lost any inches around my midsection yet, but hopefully I will eventually.

ETA: Well, exercise must be addicting, because I felt compelled to go for a quick jog tonight. The weather was beautiful, so I took advantage of it. Add about 3/4 of a mile at a nice jogging pace to my workout for today.

Hit the weights pretty hard yesterday. Got in 40 minutes & upped my weight on each set a bit over what I have been using. Working out w/ the wife is really helping as it gives me someone to kind of cheer me on.

I upped my time on the cross training machine too. Up to 15 minutes where I had only been doing 12-13 before. Burned 125 calories that way. Got in 5 miles on the stationary bike on the incline, which burned 160 calories. We then hit the treadmills for 25 minutes & burned another 200 calories jogging.

I was a bit beat when I got home, but a hot shower took care of that.

Tonight is heavy cardio. I am actually looking forward to it.

I hear you on the excitement of coming here and reporting on my progress. It's really helpful.

I worked out tonight after I was finished with work. Spent 30 minutes on the elliptical and another 15-20 on the treadmill. Burned about 600 cals, so I'm content.

Now I'm off to sleep. Happy Friday!

Hi all!

Didn't work out yesterday, but that was by design. I just finished an "Ab bootcamp" DVD that was pretty gorram hard, but I made it through! Once I've rested a bit, I'm planning on going for a jog. Might wait until it's cooler outside though. The high is supposed to be 90+ today and I don't want to get dehydrated!

Sassalicious, I'm glad your ipod still works! I use mine all the time when I'm jogging and can't imagine what I'd do if it broke!

ETA: Made it a mile outside, but man it's hot! But I feel good--a mile outside, and an ab dvd = good day.

Kelly-

I've heard of those boot camp workouts. They sound intense. There's this one at my school's gym run by some military ROTC guy or something,,,it looks scary. I also love my ipod dearly. So much that I'm going to go and invest in and armband thing, even though you wont' be able to see what's engraved on the back anymore.

So I did 60 minutes of cardio: 45 on the treadmill and 15 on this crazy new elliptical-esque sort of deal.

Twister party tonight. Ergo I will ruin everything I just did.

Did my pilates DVD today. I'm gonna give myself another week before I start measuring my waist though. It does look a little more toned, though, so that's good!

I have plans to hang out with friends later today, but it's such a beautiful day I might see if they want to go for a short walk. My one friend just injured her back last week though, so she might not be up for it. If not, at least I did my pilates today!

I hate when I get sick. I used to get sick every 5 or 6 weeks and then I'd get a really killer one every 5, 6 months or so.

But I haven't been sick since December and I'm not sure what I'm doing different.
