May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Did the walk thing today at lunch. It was raining so I had to do it in the underground garage, but it beats getting wet. Put in 1.85 miles.

Hitting the gym this afternoon.

After spending all night in the library, I couldn't handle sitting still anymore. Therefore I tumbled to the gym and did 30 minutes of cardio (thankfully I brought workout clothes to the library!) at 6:30 in the morning.

Now here I sit, still awake and still speeding on Red Bull and coffee.

Back to the library!!!!

Just walked for about an hour with my friend. Feeling a lot better.

Also, for those of you who are interested, http://www.self.com has a Self Challenge which is a 3-month challenge to eat better and exercise more, which is basically what we're all trying to do. It's free and might help you keep track of the calories you burned, gives free exercises and free meal plans etc., plus every time you log a workout or meal you get a chance to win prizes. I think there's also a grand prize spa thingy or something. I joined up last night, though I'm not sure how often I'll use it. Anyway, just thought maybe some of you would be interested.

Went to the gym last night. Did 30 minutes w/ the weights, then hit the cardio room. Did 20 minutes on the cross trainer and burned 250 calories. Got on the stationary bike then for 20 minutes & did 6 miles & burned 241 calories.

Got home and went walking with the wife since the rain let up for a little while. Put in 1.6 miles.

Been outta topuch with you guys for awhile. I've started my own personal "learn to run" program...On Monday did my 3rd session of walk/run 90 sec. intervals 8x. Did an hour of weights today and tomorrow AM will do my 4th 90 sec walk/90 sec run training. It ain't easy (the running) and at this point I'm still so new at it I can't say as I'm really enjoyig it, but i think the effort will pay off so it will be worthwhile keeping up with. I found some info on a web site regarding how to increase the run interval and decrease the walk interval, but I think I will continue at the 90 sec each interval until I've done it at least 6 times...then i'll work at increasing the run interval....haven't lost anymore weight, which I blame on the Hagen Daz sale, but I haven;t gained either so.....keep up the good work everyone. i'm very impressed by you all!

Didn't get to go to the gym last night.

Got stuck going to my mother in law's to help w/ yard work since she twisted her ankle.

Did I mention my mother in law is the devil?

Going to the gym tonight unless I get ambushed by Reavers.

@CoPilot:

Hope you get better soon

Today I had to run around a fair bit which intailed a bunch of stairs. To my surprise it didn't leave me out of breath! So, looks like it all hasn't gone away

For my current situation, I think the only practical thing is to include as many stairs in my day as possible. It'll stay like this until the end of June. Then I can get back to some actual workouts

You guys keep up the great work

Hi all!

Just a few sets of lunges, squats and resistance band work today for me. Oh, and some crunches with my exercise ball. Not a very challenging day, but it's the best I could do. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to put in a good jog!

Like I've said before, every little bit counts.

Me? Haven't been to the gym since my early morning escapade on Monday, but I have been riding my bike all over campus and mostly living off of Sugar Free Red Bull, Coffee, Tea, and the odd glass of vanilla soy milk. Healthy? No. Convenient? Yes.

Also managed to go to sleep last night for the first time since Sunday at noon. That was awesome. Also been working a lot and that's sort of physical.

As for working out, I squeezed some toning in tonight. But I just did some laundry and now I have socks again. This means I can go to the gym tomorrow!!!

Informal Poll: Should I take my birthday money and buy a scuba mask & snorkel AND something else, scuba mask & snorkel AND new rollerblades, or scuba mask & snorkel AND new rollerblade wheels?

It's so hard to decide. My blades right now are about 1/4 to 1/2 a size too small, but aside from the crappy wheels, they're alright. If i don't do anything involving rollerblades, the money will probably be put towards the 1.5-2 months I'm taking off of life and spending in Hawaii (since I won't be working, I need airfare, etc etc etc).

Could be, though I would rather run into actual Reavers then my mother in law. LOL!

Hit the gym hard last night. Did 45 minutes of weights then an hour of cardio. Burned a total of 600 calories between the cross trainer machine & the stationary bike.

Scale is busted at the gym & we don't have one at home. Really wanted to weigh in last night to see how I am doing. Had two ladies in the office comment on how I am losing weight & looking better.

Wow, best workout day ever!! Went to the gym, did 20 minutes each on the elliptical and treadmill. I then did around 30-40 minutes of toning/weights and such. I went back to the bike for another 15 minutes and back on the elliptical for 20 minutes (because I had an unnatural amount of energy today:) I burned just over 400 calories I believe, so yay!

Persephone-

I don't know how fast you move when you're on the equipment, but I'd hazard a guess that you burned over 400 because the elliptical can usually get a person to near 400 in 30 minutes.

AWESOME work though. I'm jealous.

Here the gym already closed for "finals schedule", which is lame because my job stays open normal hours for finals week. Boo.

When I had a gym membership, I'd burn about 250 calories in 30 minutes on the elliptical. I think it just depends on how much you weigh and what resistance level you put the machine on.

I pulled a muscle in my back last night, though I'm not exactly sure how I did it. All I know is it's pretty uncomfy to move so I just did a few sets of leg lifts and some stabilizing toe touches for my lower abs. Can't really do anything else without straining the muscle, and I don't wanna get hurt any more. Here's hoping I heal quickly!

Yesterday I drank my weight in margaritas, tequila, and everclear at our party. Then my roommate and I ran to the park, jumped into the freezing cold lake, and swam around.

Does that count as exercise?

Off to work, wil be back on track tomorrow because SCHOOL IS OUT FOR SUMMER!

Everyone's progress and work is amazing. Keep it up!

Hi all!

I'm happy to report that my back is almost fully healed, which means I was able to do my kickboxing dvd today! Without any pain! Yay!

I actually kinda missed exercising Friday and yesterday, which is definitely something I've never missed before I think I might go for a walk later on once it cools down here so that I won't feel like I missed out too much.
