I'm willing to admit I might be wrong. Give me a short list of his work that might change my mind.

I've seen 'The Outsiders', he was the blank spot in the picture. The entire film is overrated as is good only to see all the fair to middling 'stars' before they started to botox.

I miss 'Kindred: The Embraced", his was the only one I didn't wonder ... "now what would have happened to this character?"

THANK YOU! Stole the words right out of my mouth. I mean yeah, Pete was my favorite and Johnny goes without saying, but you can't hate Berg. Plus I kinda like Ryan Reynold's older stuff like Bolt Neck and Fool Proof.

This is probably going to make you think my opinion means nothing, but I'd have to put Will Ferrel on this list. I find him just...not funny.

And who's hating Michael Douglas? Have you *seen* Wonder Boys?

Most other people on this list I agree with.

Larry David - not. funny. his voice! his hair! his whiny wife! his disgusting friend! his NEUROSES!!!!
Tom Cruise - he only ever made one good film, Days of Thunder (but I'm prejudiced because it involves cars and 80s rock music so just ignore that) and after that...pfft!!!
Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton and Momma Hilton - the only one who's actually done anything is big Daddio! The rest are just airbrushed, make-up caked peroxide wastes of space!!!!
Jordan, Tara P-T, Jodie Marsh etc etc etc - think who we're talking about here. It really doesn't need an explanation
Homer Simpson - I know he's not real but I hate him anyway
The Friends cast - 40-something anorexia sufferers pretending to be well-adjusted 20-something New Yorkers wading their way through dating, coffee and work. oops, scratch that last one because apparently they just LIVE in central
perk!!
Whitney Houston - and iiiiiiiieeeeeeiiiiiiiiiii will always luuuuuuuuuuuuve-a yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooou. shut up.
Ben Affleck - GAH!!!! BENNIFER!!! GIGOLO!!! he's only made one film worth watching - Dogma. And only because it's got Jay and Silent Bob in it.
Kelsey Grammar as Frasier Crane - but only as Frasier. Frasier is just NOT funny!!!
Ricky Gervais - ugh. horrible little man.
Russell Brand - this is the man whose idea of comedy is to say "I'm a modern-day Peter Sutcliffe" and laugh about it. sick twat.
Reese Witherspoon - excepting Cruel Intentions, Walk the Line and one other movie, she has done NOTHING worth the celluloid it's shown on, but then I have an extreme, instinctive, deep-seated loathing of chick-flicks
The Arctic Monkeys - I just don't like them
Hugh Grant - CUT YOUR FRICKING HAIR!! oh, you did...GROW IT BACK!!!!! I CAN SEE YOUR FACE!!!!
Chris Moyles - "I am the voice of today's yoof!!!" no, you're not. you're a sad, fat, middle-aged git who can't admit that he's past it. waaaaaaaaaaaaay past it.
Fearne Cotton - the woman looks like she covered herself in glue then just walked through her wardrobe
Robert De Niro - but only sometimes
Sacha Baron Cohen - Ali G? Borat? Put it away, dear.
Margaret Thatcher - i swear that woman's a vampire...
Mel Gibson - YOU ARE NOT SCOTTISH!!! YOU CANNOT RE-WRITE OUR HISTORY TO SUIT YOUR FILM!!!! and man, you're fugly...
John Travolta - good GOD you're annoying...
Julien MacDonald - mister "I won't design clothes for fat people"
Michael Jackson - just so wrong...
Britney Spears - have you SEEN the trailer for her TV show? it basically consists of her shoving her spotty face up at the camera with a piggy-nose (you know the kind kids make when they pull the tip of their nose towards their eyes?) and yelling "I am awesome!" and they let this reproduce?
chantelle - she's famous for not being famous. how stupid is that? and she can't even speak properly!!! huuuuuuy, mauh nayme's shuntawl. uh you gunna wotch ma shauw?

wow. think i might have issues or something?

In defense of Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon...

Okay, a little ways up there someone commented on how the hate Halle Berry for ruining Storm, but shouldn't we be blaming the writers for that one? Bryan Singer & Co. choose to have Storm wuss out, in favor of focusing more prominantly on other characters. I mean HB didn't want to come back for X3, unless she was guaranteed that Storm would be more like she was in the comics (here's hoping she finally is). So if you want to hate Halle Berry, please hate her for Catwoman, not X-men.

As for Reese Witherspoon, yes she's done a lot of chick flicks (which I won't mock because I actually like most of them, except for Legally Blonde 2) but if you seriously doubt her acting abilities, please go out and rent Election, Vanity Fair, Freeway and The Man in the Moon. If you still hate her after that, well then I guess there's just not hope for you.

As for actors I don't get, I've never understood the popularity of

-Josh Hartnett. I don't hate the guy, I just don't get why people love him.
- Tara Reid. She essentially famous for being drunk and flashing people.
- Kelly Rippa - She like Kathy Lee Gifford on speed
- Star Jones - where do I begin?
- Hilary Duff - I know she's been mentioned a few times already, I just really hate her.

I agree with that. It's easy to dismiss him as being popular because he's pretty, but he gave some good performances. I liked him in 12 Monkeys, Fight Club and Troy, and I thought he was excellent in what is probably my favourite movie, Seven.

Other people can occasionally be useful, especially as minions. I want lots of minions.

Fight Club was the best thing that Brad Pitt ever did, and it was the only time I ever seen him really act.

All of the actors and actresses all of you have mentioned are very popular with most of the people out there. I guess that should tell you a lot about where a nation is at by the heroes that they pay attention to.

Not one of these people that all of you mentioned wouldn’t be where they are today unless there were a lot of some bodies paying attention to them. They are getting paid millions, and people go see them. They purchase the latest gossip magazines, they go to the movies, they buy the books about their favorite actors/actress, and there is a whole industry making zillions of dollars because most people like that sort of thing.

Also, when you look a little closer, sometimes you find something to like about these bad actors/actress.

Example:

Madonna – Hated everything she’s ever done except for Evita. I thought she did well in that.

Brad Pitt – Fight Club is the only thing he got right. I also don’t understand why everyone thinks he’s so handsome.

Catherine Zeta Jones - She can’t act, but I would love to look like her.

Brittney Spears – I don’t think she has any talent, but millions of people buy her CDs.

Jessica and Ashley Simpson – I don’t get it.

Paris Hilton – Total waste of human life.

Denise Richards – Only thing I’ve ever seen her in was Starship Troopers and her acting was very forgettable.

Tom Cruise – He was good in Top Gun and The Firm. But I don’t think he’s done anything good since, and he’s another one that everyone says is so handsome…I don’t see it.

The Olsen Twins – So f**king what?

Lindsay Lohan – I 1st saw her in a movie called Mean Girls and it was an okay movie, but very forgettable.

Jennifer Lopez – Never seen anything of hers so I don’t have an opinion.

Ben Affleck – He’s handsome, and I liked him in The Sum of All Fears, but he plays the same character in every movie he’s in…AJ from Armageddon.

There are other bad actors that I could mention, but I won't

Okay... I have to go out on a limb and say I love Britney cause she can dance and I can't and she's hot. Also Christina, for all of the same but she can REALLY sing while she does it. Paris Hilton I totally agree though. Have you heard her sing? It is hair raising....and not in a good way. She's totally famous for X rated tape leaks. Also, the guy who does Girls gone Wild. Why is he famous? He really annoys me. Let's go get girls drunk and ask them to flash Hey can you sign this form? Bleeeeech!

While on itunes searching around for music, I came upon some young singer called “Pink" and she has this music video called "Stupid Girls” I liked it right off so I downloaded it. She trashes Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and those Ashley twins. It's very funny and Pinks singing is good. I normally don't go for things like this, but it was funny and true.

Tom Cruise... I was so puzzled during Jerry Maguire, why is this guy so famous?

I hate to say his name, being that I have bi-polar and all kinds of other crazy things going on in my head and, he, like my Mom just can't understand "why do you need to take pills? Just start acting normal"

in fact, I'm going to list his movies and really get off on a rant... sorry

Mission: Impossible III (2006) .... Ethan Hunt
from the creator of "Lost"... PASS!

War of the Worlds (2005) .... Ray Ferrier
I don't believe that Steven Spielburg had anything to do with this large stinky pile of turd

Collateral (2004) .... Vincent
Another "Great" movie that just sucked

The Last Samurai (2003) .... Nathan Algren
Don't wanna see it and I've heard that I shouldn't

Minority Report (2002) .... Chief John Anderton
I love this movie, and frequently forget he is in it somewhere

Vanilla Sky (2001) .... David Aames
Shouldn't they just burn the original print?

Mission: Impossible II (2000) .... Ethan Hunt
I forgot about this one until the third one started being advertised LAST YEAR!

Magnolia (1999) .... Frank T.J. Mackey
oh... what a boring turd

Eyes Wide Shut (1999) .... Dr. Bill Harford
I think Nicole Kidman should get naked more often

Jerry Maguire (1996) .... Jerry Maguire
fell asleep... what happened?

Mission: Impossible (1996) .... Ethan Hunt
the first five minutes were really cool and the soundtrack is awesome... I love that CD and always forget that in order to remake the theme song that they had to release a movie to accompany the soundtrack

Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) .... Lestat de Lioncourt
I really can not express how much I hate this movie... Anne Rice needs to do a a little RESEARCH, you know like fiction authors usually do

The Firm (1993) .... Mitch McDeere
what? never heard of it

A Few Good Men (1992) .... Lt. Daniel Kaffee
I thought that was a Jack movie... Tom was in it?

Far and Away (1992) .... Joseph Donnelly
no idea...

Days of Thunder (1990) .... Cole Trickle
oh, a dumb race car movie...

Born on the Fourth of July (1989) .... Ron Kovic
no idea...

Rain Man (1988) .... Charlie Babbitt
Possibly the greatest movie of my lifetime... Tom should still be thanking Dustin Hoffman for the Oscar nomination... I could stand next to Dustin Hoffman and get an Oscar nomination

Cocktail (1988) .... Brian Flanagan
wasn't Pee-Wee in that? oh, I'm thinking about that funny movie... at least I think "Cocktail" is supposed to be a comedy...

The Color of Money (1986) .... Vincent Lauria
green... easy

Top Gun (1986) .... Lt. Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell
I love when he fries bacon on that chick's stomach

Legend (1985) .... Jack
All the Right Moves (1983) .... Stefen Djordjevic
Risky Business (1983) .... Joel Goodsen
Losin' It (1983) .... Woody
The Outsiders (1983) .... Steve Randle
Taps (1981) .... David Shawn
Endless Love (1981) .... Billy

I really don't have a comment about any of these 80's crapfests... oh, The Outsiders... he was in that?

Brad Pitt can be quite good.

Snatch. You couldn't detect any American accent. Or words, for that matter, but you got the sense of what he was gabbling about.

Oceans 11. When they've picked 10, him and George have this almost silent, immobile scene. Something like "...one more? Need one more? (Pause) We'll have one more."

Made up (almost) for Don Cheadle's accent. It seems it is, after all, possible to spell the word 'Cockney' using the letters W, T and F.

The Last Samurai - This was actually a good movie now that I think of it. I went to see it twice. Tom's acting passed pretty well in that movie, though everyone else in the movie acting was better. It was a good story.

The Firm - This movie was sort of like Devils Advocate with Keanu Reeves. The difference between both movies was just a matter of replacing the mafia with Satan.

Rain Man - I agree with everything you said about that movie. I too could stand next to Dustin Hoffman and get an Oscar nomination.

Top Gun - This is the only movies Tom's done that I really liked. His acting really fit the part in the movie.

--------------------------------------------------

About a year ago Tom went on some television show and told America that he was in love with Kate Holmes, and I guess he was so excited about this that he ended up jumping up and down on a couch. It seems that no on really liked this sort of behavior, and have crucified him for it ever since.

I never told anyone this, but I actually thought it was "cute" If I could fall in love again, I would jump up and down on a couch too.

P.S. One actress that makes a mockery out of the name actress is Julie Roberts. How did she get to be so famous? I simply don't, can't, understand this.

um, how are you supposes to research a vampire?

yup, celebration of mediocraty, with one added word - celebration of expensive mediocraty. If it cost more than two months wages, then no matter how truly good awful it, and the d lister its wearing are, it apparently passes as acceptable.

the internet... at least, my public library has no folklore and legends books... I looked up vampires on the internet (I spent the last three years developing a vampire script, to be filmed next year) I would find all kinds of "true" vampire legends... I was learning a lot about 19th century folklore when I discovered that it goes back further and further and further... 12th century actually... in the end, there is a bunch of conjecture about who vampires are and how vampires behave and what does and does not kill a vampire.

Other than that, Anne Rice seems to pull what most of Hollywood pulls... if the scene calls for the vampire to be faster than a locomotive, do it. If the scene calls for the vampire to turn into a fast-moving bit of fog, do it. If the scene calls for the vampire to leap tall buildings in a single bound, do it.

Truth is, that modern books/films just ignore what is logical or what actually makes sense and just go and make their own rules.

Oh and someone said that people dislike Tom Cruise for jumping on Oprah's couch and being an idiot... no no no... I dislike him... err I hate him because he uses his celebrity status to try and convince people that Psychiatric Medicine is useless and that L. Ron Hubbard (the author of "Battlefield Earth") created a legitimate religion and everybody should join.

When it comes to Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise I have to admit to liking more than a few of their movies but it has never been because of their performances.

I do have to commend Pitt for making some less than obvious choices in selecting his roles:
Cool World
Kalifornia
Seven
12 Monkeys
Admittedly some of these were early in his career but he could have easily passed on these and went down the typical pretty boy movie path.

The one I still don't get is Julia Roberts. She is not good looking, can't act, and each movie strikes me as being the same as the last one she did.

First and foremost:

Brad Pitt. Troy was the first movie that ever tempted me to movie hop in a multiplex...to get away from it without feeling like I flushed $8.50 down the toilet. (This was beside the fact the script writer really needed to be introduced to The Iliad.)

Tom Cruise. I've yet to see him be an actor.

Tom Hanks. Same reason as Cruise and Pitt. He only seems to play himself.

Bill Murray. Hated him on SNL. Loathed and despised him in movies.

Seinfield. Completely not funny.

Brittney Spears.

Jim Carrey. Five minutes is about all I can take of him.

Eminem. (However the heck he mispells it.) Living near Detroit, I hear far more about this idiot then I really want to.

Courtney Love.

Kurt Cobain. Couldn't sing. (Yeah, I know I'm gonna catch flack for that, but he really couldn't.)
