Sorry, just had to share this with everyone...
I have been working on a suit of armor for my wife for the upcoming DragonCon for a few months now. It has only recently gotten to the point where it is wearable; almost done! A few more tweaks here and there and it will be finished! I have pictures in two places right now:

If you are interested in this kind of thing, take a look and let me know what you think. Those of you going to DragonCon, look for her and I there!

Thank you all for tolerating my sense of accomplishment.

Holding until you get back, Captain.

Shiny, Dont make many armours myself, but my brother used to be in the smithingbuisness and I get to wear my share of armour when I work as a guard on different medieval fares and likes during the summer.

You can’t stop the Signal.
Keep spreading the word about Firefly!

Thank you!
I notice you live in Sweden...I am wondering what the Ren Faires there are like. Obviously, we in the US do not have the history that exists in Europe, so I am curious to see how different they are.
What type of armor did your brother make?

I just got the chance to see the pics that you posted. Pretty cool. The armor looks great. How long did it take to finish? Thanks for posting these.

Simon: What if he(Mal) tells you to kill me?
Zoe: (without hesitation) I kill you.

Wow! That's remarkable - did you actually make that yourself or buy it piecemeal? Love the wavy sword . . .

Thank you!
It has taken about four or five months of semi-steady work (there may be a week that goes by where I am not working on it), and I still have maybe another month or two of finishing it off and detail work (brass, mostly). She is still not used to moving in armor, and there are a few spots that still bite, like the greaves. She did have fun wearing it yesterday, though!

Zisker,
I actually made it myself. The wavy sword if the wife's "baby"...and it's a heavy sucker, too!

Thank you for the comment!

Mostly chainmail, but he made a platemail once and a chestplate for me. Also he has made some leather armours.
We dont really have renesance faires in sweden, we have medieval fares instead. Not sure how they diverge actually since ive never been to a faire in the US, but they are basicly a market where you can shop different medieval products, some shows and such, and a big feast for everyone who worked on the faire afterwards. If you want to see something special I recomend the medievel week on Gotland that is at the end of every summer, think you can find some info on goggle about it.

Thank you! Yes, that sounds like the ones we have in the US...lots of shopping, some shows, and lots of people dressed up.
I will check out Gotland!

I'm in the SCA and always appreciate a beautiful woman in armor. Lucky you. Talk to Seryn she studied armor alot in college as part her major.

I am an ex-SCAdian, and I also liked a woman in armor. Just need a can-opener now...
I have spoken with Seryn in past threads regarding armor, and she has seen the pictures...but thank you for the connection!
