I just had my days off changed (again). This, of course, resulted in me only having one day off this time...grr. In any case, I'm now off Sunday and Monday. At least I'll be able to watch football this year (no comments of slyness, please ;p).

Down 40, eh? I lost 30 when I cut soda (and nothing else, including other sweet drinks). I then stayed the same weight for about 10 months. Now, since the new year, I've gained 20 back doing nothing differently (well, probably not true).

In any case, I recently scored a good deal on a Total Gym on eBay. I've missed exercising the past 3 years. It'll be good to get back into it.

It's a special kind of Shagging done in the Carolinas. Too bad D*C is in Georgia. It's not permited in other states......

Citizen, not exactly.
We in the US use "shag" to describe the state of an object; as in "wow, that dog is shaggy", or "Hey, what do you think of my new shag carpet". As far as using the definition referring to sexual activity, many of us know that meaning exists, but do not use the word in that way.

Its like in your cop shows when you say the words 'gang bangers' I'm assuming you mean gang memebers shooting each other.

To us it just conjurs images of forty something lawyers and their wives dressed in cheap bondage gear doing unspeakable things with aaaaall of their neighbours, at once, together, you catching my drift yet?

I apologise for my absence, I have had the worst, wierdest, randomest few days this week. And i've been busy with these carnival costumes, so i'm sorry, and I MISSED THE DANCIN'!

*sobs*

Ok, when I get back again someone has to dance for me.

Ah, you see I love the Nook, mainly because IRL i've never learned to waltz, so the Nook is pretty much the only place where I glide about the room with the grace of a dozen ballerinas and my partner doesn't have to leave in a wheel chair due to a sudden lack of toes.

*Dances*

I love the Nook.

I can vouch for JH being a good listener. He's also terribly patient when the person he's trying to talk to keeps trying to fall asleep.

I've got my flute out, trying to practice a bit since I agreed to play at Relay for Life in 2 days and haven't touched the thing in over a year. I got bored with Amazing Grace and moved onto Mozart's Concerto No. 2 in D, which, considering I haven't worked on it seriously since college, I can play AMAZINGLY well (can you believe my flute instructor wouldn't let me play it for recitals? 8 years later and I still have most of it memorized. Moron!)

Anyway, now I've got out my Bach Rondeau, so everyone grab a partner, someone grab a grand piano and be my accompanyist and let's have some fun. I'll play the Polonaise next.

It's like we've suddenly slipped into a Jane Austin novel!

I'd also like to contribute to the whole good listener discussion- I'm amazingly patient, just ask my friend Molly (well, you really can't but take my word for it)- it's been seven years since we met and I listen as good as ever:) If anyone ever needs someone to do just that, my aim screen name is on my profile:)

You're more than welcome to join me playing. Here's some convenient sheet music I happen to have lying around.

Unless you'd rather dance. It seems at least one lady is without a partner (though this may be the only dance I've ever been at where there are more men than women.)

No, wait, not true. I once went to a latin night club where the ratio was probably 8:1 in favor of the men. That was a freaky night.

If you want to dance with JH I can stap aside, just fill in his dance card.

I can always go bully SR or Tristan into dancing with me (I think CMS and LMD are the band)

Yes, i've had the problems with the Jayne spelling.
