Just finished an hour long bike ride through the Arboretum. It was positively lovely. All the plants and trees and bushes were in bloom. I'm going to have to do this one again.

Note to self: Get a map of all the bike trails in Madison.

Then I'm walking a couple of miles to/from work tonight. Boo to work.

3 months already - now that IS hard to believe!! WEll, I've lost five pounds since we started the FireFly Fit Club, these last pounds to reach my goal have been the hardest. But the really really good news is I've dropped one dress size since three months ago, and 3 since i seriously made an effort to lose weight. Yeah Me!!!

So all you newbies thinking of joining please do!! The support is great!!

Today did my jog/walk rountine followed by an hour class of tai chi/yoga/pilates. That class is really helping on toning the core! And i think the jog/walk thing is helping rid that last of my pounds...Think i ahve to resort to good ole cardio to get rid of the last 10!!

Cheers to us all for doing so awesome and sticking with it!!!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Worked on the farm this weekend, spent nearly eight hours helping to build a new barn. Pretty hot day and anyone who has done framing can tell you it is a workout.

Went biking on Sunday. Got in 15 miles on the cross country trails. Went walking yesterday. Put in 5 miles on the trails.

Going to the gym tonight. Weigh in night again tonight.

Just got back from the gym. I spent 50 minutes on the treadmill alternately running for 5 minutes and speed-walking for 5 minutes.

I just weighed in and I'm down another pound. That makes a total of 6 pounds lost since I started this. Yay!

Time to try and beg work hours off of people.

Hi all!

I'm happy to say that I am back in my apartment and that it is all dry now. In a few weeks I'll be moving into another place though, so that'll mean even more heavy lifting to move all my stuff!

Yesterday I went to a wine festival and walked around for about 3 hours. Not sure how far I walked though because I forgot my pedometer.

Today I walked just a mile and did some upper body with with some resistance bands. It is sooo hot here right now, so I'm very glad I got that indoor walking DVD.

Congratulations to everyone for sticking with this! At the end of this week it'll be 2 months for me and I'm so proud of myself!

Thanks for your pat on the back.

Went for a fast walk for 20 minutes in the steamin' heat today (35 celcius which I think translates to high 80's/low 90's!)
Did my hour weight class. When i got home I walked my dogs and then mowed both front and back yard!!
ONw more workout tomorrow then I probably won;t get much of chance rest of week/weekend. off to the Con on Thursday and the only exercising I'll be doin' is chasin' Nate and Adam for photo's!! Will maybe a jog in on Friday....
Keep up the good work everyone!

Well, I weigh my myself every night and every morning- my weight fluctuates a lot so I like to keep track. Anyway, according to the scale about five or six days ago I have lost just over ten pounds from this time LAST year (not since we started). This is great news for me though as I have a really hard time losing weight. In a day or two I will do my monthly weigh in and give a more up to date figure, and tell how much I've lost since the start of the club.

My weigh in yesterday showed me to be at 232 which sent me into cartwheels. Okay, a real rough semblance of cartwheels. Okay, would you believe rolling around cheering?

Did the weights for an hour, then did 30 minutes of light cardio. Tonight is heavy cardio night. Going to shoot for an hour and fifteen minutes.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Woke up this morning and went to the gym for 30 minutes then in the afternoon I went on a bike ride with my friend. I think it was roughly 14 miles roundtrip. The best part was that despite the fact that we were hot and absolutely disgusting, we stopped at this delicious Mexican restaurant partway home. And it was delicious.

Now I'm back visiting my mom in Green Bay. I think I might die without my gym and bike trails. People in this town aren't civilized enough to realize that bikes are in fact supposed to be on the road.

Wow. 1 whole hour on the elliptical. 530 calories. I am about to die. I suppose it was worth it but I am now sweating more than I thought humanly possible! Also, my face got really pink. Not just flushed cheeks, but my forehead and my chin- I looked like an alien, and then I had to go to the grocery store. That was fun I must go hose myself off now.

I love when I workout and feel the need to hose off afterward. Soon enough it'll be the lake will be warm enough to jump in and cool off in.

Biked to the store and back today. Probably not doing much else, but I think my mom is getting me a day pass so I can go to the gym with her tomorrow and whenever else she goes. Yay!

Hi all!

Yesterday I helped my friends move into their new apartment--two stair flights up and in 95 degree heat! I can honestly say it's been a long time since I have been so completely covered in sweat. I definitely needed to hose off! hehe.

Anyway, that was a solid 4 hours of lifting, stair climbing and walking so I feel like I got a good workout.

Will probably do yoga or pilates today, something a bit low-impact to give my body a break.

All right guys, I need a kick in the butt!

I've always been super active, but lately I've gotten the fanfic bug and I spend soo much time sitting at the computer! I'm not overweight really, but I weigh more than I ever have in my life, and the trend is a bad thing! My damn jeans are too tight!

I must make myself jog, or join a gym, or something. But I really need a workout buddy, my old one moved to CA, and I am bereft.

So... virtual browncoat workout buddies? Kick me please!! (In the virtual sense only )

how's that? You should definitely visit this thread regularly. It doesn't matter what you do, everyone here will be super supportive. Whether you run five miles or do five push-ups it's exercise and we're here for each other every step of the way. So...get off your rear and workout! Start out small, obviously, and try a short walk every/ every other day or so. Take stairs instead of the elevator. All those little things add up and if you're consistent enough, over time, you'll lose pounds and feel better.

That's the plan anyway...

That's exactly my problem! Welcome aboard!

Went to the gym today and they let me use it for free as a "try out" day. I think I might go around to all the various gyms in the city while I'm here and use the "just trying it out" excuse. Hahaha. Spent 30 minutes on the elliptical and another 30 on the treadmill. Yay.

I think today I'll walk a couple miles just to warm up my legs again.

I'm not working out today.

I did sit through a boring tour of the YMCA today and as a reward for my patience, I scored 2 guest passes. Yes! I have another 2 days of gym cardio machines while I'm stuck in Green Bay. Just need to find something tomorrow. I might go check out this bike trail, but who knows.

All right, I did nothing last night and this morning, except for gardening which is more soreness for the knees than anything else!

But I'm feeling energized from checking in with you guys, I swear I'll go jogging later today... tomorrow at the latest. Hey - it's raining and cold outside and warm and dry in my house!

Great idea with the gym tours, sass! Problem is, I'm in the boonies, so I might get 1 or 2 free workouts tops. Better than nothing!

Definitely better than nothing! Wow, everyone has been pretty busy- so good to hear! I overestimated myself and went running yesterday- did a mile which wasn't so bad but it was really hot and I was still a little tired from the day before so I thought I was gonna die! Anyway, I got through it and went to the gym today- did a quick ten minute warmup on the treadmill and then did about an hour of weights and such. I'm still a little sore from yesterday so I know I'll be extra sore tomorrow but I still feel good about myself and that's all that matters

Not much exercise from my neck of the 'verse. However I have started sleeping a lot more drinking plenty of water and I pretty much quit drinking alcohol. Aparently I'm starting to look thiner but I don't feel like hopping on the scale yet.
Also I'm starting to feel somthing close to almost healthy.
