It is Peter's version of hell not John's R. Hell(from Big Bibbledy Biblical fame). You have to go through it and once your done, its all good. You get to come back.

hmmmm.. Wonder why "they" picked John's.

Yeah, Sumerian Hell was around when the Catholics and the Christians were painting fishes on their chests so they could tell each other apart. It was old when they were unmade. It was powerful when they were blooming.

Luckily, neither exists.

Whew.

Dante's journey didn't end till he hit hightest heaven. Climb down the back of Satan, through the center of the earth, up to the surface on the other side and you will be at the island mount of purgatory, with the garden of Eden at it's top.

From there he went to Heaven.

But we don't need to go there, we'll follow you whereever you want to lead us.

Yeah, 14 is still pretty young. I won't lecture you, though, that's for mothers to do.

Anyway, yeah not planning on making the trek up to heaven. We've let Dante dictate enough of our threads.

And Pagan Hel (yes, it was spelled with only one l at first) is actually just a wasteland ending in a well where your energy is disolved to be reused. That wouldn't be very exciting. Remember, being "Forsaken" is a fairly new idea in the scheme of things.

Yes, we need our own level! Kick that frozen chewing bastard to one side and see if he's not sitting on the hole to the next level down. Dante didn't have the stones to try that, did he? At best, it would give us a way down without digging (or melting a hole), and at worst it would just be fun to watch him bounce and skid for a bit.

PR, there are plenty of real men down here in the South. I'll make you a deal: If you send us some straight-talking women such as yourself, we'll convince a few of them to head up your way.

By the way, I withdraw my former comment about hints, at least in your case. You were very direct, and down here that is rare.

Maybe I just need to move to Mobile and look up FMF (but my name isn't Nathan )

So who is he?

And here I thought Colorado was considered to be the South, and that much further south there was a a lot more misogyny. Maybe that's just because of the Mexican culture (sorry to any Latin American folk that might offend; this is based on my personal experience of every man I've personally met from Mexico because they all made me feel like an object. Not that that's exclusive to them, either, just seemed more consistant.) and white-trash cliches and the idea of "southern belles" which are commonly thought of as fairly helpless images of women.
I wish I knew some single straight-talking women I was willing to part with, but it's rare here, too, and the few I know are my friends. Or lesbians. Or both. Or at least friends of my family. Did I mention several of them are lesbians? I guess they have to develop that habbit to comfortably exist; if they get hit on and can't come right out and say they're lesbians, there are issues. Of course, I think there are always issues if you can't just come right out and say what's true, but you know what I mean.
Sorry, did that belong on Imponderables? Well, we can talk about anything we want here, so why not?
Anyway, is there middle ground where we real women could meet the real men, or do we have to venture into the blazing summer heat? Cuz really, if they're real men, they should be willing to meet us halfway

I think being direct in general is rare, no matter where you are. Maybe that's why guys don't believe I actually mean what I say? Huh.

[[]RANT[]]What I don't get with sigs like that is why. I mean why? What is the point?

You don't others do, you made one choice they made another, doesn't make you supirior to them, or vice verse. I find sigs like that are amusing because many times it seems to be an attempt to prove supiriority over people who make a different choice, and it's that attitude that tends to lure children in to trying it who wouldn't of made that choice otherwise.

Would you put something like this in your signature?
Most people will find true love, if your an unattractive worthless waste of space like me who won't, copy this into your signature.[[]/RANT[]]

So sorry that my sig is so offensive to you. The fact is that since it is unusual to meet others who have never made the choice to poisen themselves in some way, I don't see anything wrong with identifying myself as such. I don't think I'm better than anyone else, but I do think I've made an unusual, even rare, lifestyle choice. The fact is that, if you don't say otherwise, people tend to assume you're a user of some kind just because such a majority of people are. I'd rather avoid that kind of confusion, personally, because I get tired of explaining to everyone and their brother why I don't want to go to a bar when invited. I saw this floating around in sigs and thought "Oh, okay" and everyone who smokes all the time is welcome to put something like (pulling the stats out of thin air) "32% of people who smoke pot experience paranoia while high, if you are one of them, copy this into your signature" or "80% of people who smoke pot are laid back; if you think being a stoner should be grounds for Concientious Objection, copy this into your signature" I don't care! Say whatever you want! Or hey, how about "70% of people who drink have had an accident while drunk. If you are one of the 30% who hasn't, copy this into your signature." The possibilities are endless!
It's just a statement of fact; doesn't have to have any other purpose.

It's not offensive to me, nor was I singling you out in anyway, though I was generalising so I see why you'd think that, in fact I wasn't going to say anything because I saw you used it as your sig but I did think to hell with it, maybe I'm in a bad mood, I don't know, but I'm not wishing to attack you.

Saying things like choosing not to poison yourself is fairly emotive though, everything you take into your body is a poison, it's merely a question how much you need to take to be poisoned. Ten raw potatoes will kill you from toxic shock (obviously cooked the dosage required is much greater) and even if you drink too much water you can end up with water intoxication, which can lead to hyponatremia and death. So really every one of us chooses to poison ourselves, it's just a question of how we do it.

I don't touch McDonalds, at a real push I'll eat Burger King, but I can count the number of times I've done that on my fingers. I'll still go into one if everyone I'm with decides to, but I won't eat, and I see no point in announcing the fact to all and sundry in my signature:
99.99% of people choose to eat deadly tasteless cardboard, if your one of the 0.01% who don't...

And frankly if Cannabis (active ingredient Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) and McDonalds (active ingredient Ishuddertothink) were put side by side I'd put money on Cannabis being the least toxic and harmful.

What I'm trying to say in a roundabout way is I don't see the point in announcing it, and whatever your reasons for doing so (and you've never come across to me as the kind of person to do so, so please forgive my perhaps overly sweeping statements) most I've come across who announce it do it as if they are announcing their moral superiority to others.

Sorry If I caused you any offense.

I'm gonna pop in a random comment relating to the earlier thread...

I've been known to drink (I'll give anyone the recipe for hellbrew, they want it) but I don't get slammed. I've never taken any drugs, I don't smoke anything, and I have absolutely no piercings, tattoos, brandings or distinguishing marks.

At college, I was considered weird.

However, I will eat pretty much anything that can't get off my plate fast enough (though I am against animal cruelty). A roomful of people who would get legless on alcopops freaked out when confronted by sushi. It's all a matter of perspective.

I choose not to put random chemicals in my body, because I can experience enough crazy time on just coffee, and I'm a control freak. But there are certain creative types who would not produce what they do without the rush.

My only addiciton is to reviews. (and Jayne.)

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

FMF! I'm so glad you're back! Cue the dance of joy!

Due to all the computer problems I didn't get a chance to say hope you feel better when you were poorly. I was thinking it though!
