There is a sign on I-40, 'bout 1-2 miles from my house, that says 2315 miles to Barstow, Calif. Long Long Long trip....

Then of course you got to get to FLAN II.

Ookami waves as FMF flys by nakkid, well he is enjoying some sushi err I mean some "special sushi" err you did not see anything. I disavow all knowledge of the previous statement......
Okay switch of topic.... whys the rum gone ????

*pops head 'round corner* Someone say sushi? Maki? Inari? Edo? Chirashi? *drool* *attempts to steal some from Ookamiwahara* (I'll settle for some sashimi -- just not fugu.)

As for the rum....Well, I have some lychee (or litchi for those who like it spelled the other way) soaking in a bottle's worth...You can have some after I've soaked it for a day or two (and thrown it in the freezer to chill it).

The country too big? Of course not...it only takes most of a day to travel across it from where I am. ('Course for me to get to practially anywhere from where I am, it takes an airplane flight. )

Edit: Oh yeah, before I forget...*pricks finger -- donates blood to pyre*

No prob, have some sushi, just don't steal the platter. Unagi + the "special sushi" otherwise you just might have to battle me for it
Sure pass it on by when its ready. lets not forget shochu, sake, Rum, Bacardi and Coke, Maitai etc etc. oh and heres some marshe mellows to roast on the fire.

Oooh...Unagi *drools*...and don't worry, I'll leave the platter. "Special sushi?" The human-platter sushi type? Never had it. (next question of course: is it done with a geisha or maiko? 'Cause that usually means guys-only sushi dinner.)

*pulls out a container of poke (bite-sized chunks of sushi/sashimi-grade fish usually mixed with thinly sliced onions, shoyu/soy sauce, sesame oil, limu kohu, roasted kukui nut meat, and a bit of chilli pepper)* *offers some to Ookamikawahara* Poke (po-keh)?

Thanks for the poke, not sure if thats the correct spelling - haven't had that one before. Takes it with the hashi (chopsticks) and bows.
mochiron nyotaimori ne. Actually, dosn't have to be geisha or maiko. Could be any lady. I think your mixing up the two cause the geisha preforms ie entertains the guest but dosn't offer anything sexual to the guest. Diff type of lady does that. ie the Geisha is trained in conversation, music, and games. The maiko is a Geisha apprentice. Actually, the first Geisha were actually guys and eventually the job grew into one preformed by the ladies.

Geisha vs. maiko: un, wakarimasu. (That's about the extent of my conversational nihongo.) But from what I remember of the body sushi in Japan, wasn't it usually one or the other? IIRC (and I could be wrong) geisha and maiko would entertain at the tea-houses (you're right, usually no sex involved), as the "hostess" (no not the sexual type) while the men (samurai, buinessmen, etc.) did their wheeling and dealing...Geisha originally being men I never knew (although it makes sense in a way, men are the ones who perform in Kabuiki and Noh -- so by extension, yeah...makes sense).

...Yep, that's how we spell it in Hawai`i. I'm tempted to bring out other pupus (appetizers), but that might be a bit much. Don't want to scare everyone with all the strange sounding (but yummy) foodstuff.

ee, mata ato de.

woo! Food thread again.

You want that steak with a cajun rub, a little teriyaki or a particularly evil bbq sauce, involving fresh chili and a deal of JD?

Or garlic and parsley butter, peppercorn sauce or just crispy shallots?

Hmm. This is better with lamb, but - couscous, done with shallots, and an apricot/cumin/mustard sauce stirred through.

Or home-made garlic bread, the type with the biohazard warning on it.

From what I have read, seen of the entertainment in Japan etc. Its not Geisha or Maiko, but instead the ladies of the night ect. Or if you have friends that are interested / can be talked into it ......., but thats a diff matter huh. Since I'm going back see what happens exactly, its more special sushi places that cater to more of a adult nature. By the way I like the name, dancing cat !!!! Feel free to bring out the more exotic stuff, ---- I can't believe FMF is turning her nose up on sushi thats okay, let me order ya a nice juicy Japanese style steak. makes my mouth drool already just thinking about it

PD foresaw this coming of cow in a vision this morning. Bring on the beef battle baby.

With the help of Emma's cloning technology, Five Forsaken PDs emerge from the fire. Each brandishing branding irons marked "The Forsaken" (no not "Patented Brimstoney Taste").

PDs: Meat, meet your maker!
Cows: Moooooooo!

Set up the pit, this won't take long.
