There's still wine in the fridge if you'd like to open a bottle. I'll go ahead and get started on dinner.

*JadeHand moves around the kitchen in his room mixing various spices and cutting non-space chicken for dinner, as Mai opens a bottle and pours two glasses for them. Leaving the fresh vegetables cut in seperate bowls and the chicken and spices cooking, JadeHand takes his glass and slips up beside Mai as she gazes out of the window.*

It's nice to be out in the black again. Do you have any after dinner plans? I thought we might pass out on the couch in front of a movie and some popcorn...

Wisp walked out of the hangar the next morning looking very weary and tired.

"ooh lets see what youve got then!!!" Squeeled Jet as she saw him emerge

He took a second after noticing her nad hearing her words for him to comprehend

"Yeah" He perked up slightly after living in his own world all night

"No1 Ive augmented me corneas so i can now see in Uv, Thermal, And Xray vision" His eyes glanced up and down Jet

"YOUR XRAYING ME RIGHT NOW ARENT YOU!!!" She covered her boobs and nethers and slapped him across the face

"Sorry

No2 Ive replaced my lower arms with powerful electromagnets so i can move around large metals"

Wisp moved a large piece of machinery just by moving his hands.

"oooh" She said marveling at his new powers

"And No3" He lifted up his shirt revealing four deep gashes in each side of his chest

"EEEWWWHH What is that!!"

"Theyre gills. I can breathe permanantly Underwater"

"Nice powers So whats in the bag?"

"Never You mind" He said sneakily "But this is for you" He extracted a post and pressed a button and Out sprang a hamock

"I already have a hamock" She said pointing to a tattered rag in the corner

"Yes but this is officially the most comfortable hamock in the world. Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Gravity springs and a dark matter injector"

"Fancy Hamock"

Wisp Walked out and followed the wailing to the new babys room. As he knocked a rugged Soul answered the door.

"Hey Congratulations and all Heres a baby present for you" He extracted a metal rucksack thing from his bag

"What is it??"

"Theyre Wings. I figure the wifes got em, the kids gottem you might as well have em. Just put em on and fly"

"Thanks" Soul said while looking at the equipment

"Listen gotta go Have fun!"

Wisp closed the door and went to the hangar to test his new powers

Seryn swans out of her room, resplendant in bronzed leathery goodness, hair newly pouffed (they always have pouffier hair as well, have you noticed?) and follows the sound of clanking to where Cozen is.

Cozen lifts the visor up and clanks in response.

He has a funny eye, but i don't think thats a defect - i think it just means he's different.

But it does mean that you have to look after him - he tends to run into things - trees, people, ships, no depth perception you see.

*lifts up gauntleted hand and places rabbit in*

*Runs back to darkened room and slips back into bed, waits for SR to get interested.

Then shape changes into Tom Berenger*

OOC: The Etiquette of Super Powers

Multiple superpowers are okay. The thing to watch is having powers that tend to short-circuit our plot lines. For example, if you have god-like powers where you can wave your hand and make our problems disappear, then having and dealing with problems becomes less interesting.

"Oh, another invasion fleet. YAWN! Say, Bob, can you send them to oblivion like the last four?"

That way, for us to have any fun, we need to either cause Bob to lose his powers temporarily, or Bob has to be in some torpor where he cannot act. Or Bob sits by, god-like, watching the antics of us mere mortals until he feels it is time to intervene and save us.

Another problem is if your powers are constantly changing, so that you can always pull up a new one to deal with any specific situation. Jadehand's Nametags of Shapeshifting are like this, but their use comes with enough of a price that he won't do so frivilously.

And yes, I think that flight using wings is a superpower. It was for Angel of the original X-Men!

Wisp stepped into the Hangar Still weary after his night of inventing. His Genious had given birth to three (non-godlike)Superpowers.

Wisp decided to test each one to find its strengths and weaknesses.

Firstly were His augmented Corneas. Throughout the ship Wisp Now saw the UV markers left from when the ship was built. He also saw little invisible ink messages that were obviously left by the construction centre staff.

Through IR and Xray he could see roughly into the next room. There were The new parents wrestling baby Seraphina from the celing, Seryn and SR In Bed-He didnt go Xray on that room. The rest of the ship was fairly routine.

Next he rolled up his sleeves revealing the scars left from His Electromagnets. That had been really difficult and painful. He had built and programmed a sergical robot to remove his Radius's and replace them with identical Sized electromagnetic bones. They Contained Ferrous Alloy rods charged by Small bioneural Battery packs. The could lift anything Up to roughly a ton as long as the ferrous content was over 15%.

For example the shuttle wreckage itself still left in the Hangar was too heavy, But the small debris round it were fair game.

For his gills he decided to go down to the pool and have a long swim. These had required more biological and genetic enhancments rather than pgysics and chemistry. He had grown them in an incubator and grafted them on to his abdomen. He also used a retroviral agent and oncogenes to connect blood vessels and nerves.

When he arrived at the pool he found Yetis were still abundant and the pool was filled with....fluids.

"I'll come back tommorrow" He said and caught some well needed sleep back in his bunk.

“Sorry I’m late!” Jet dashes into the conference room and quickly takes a seat.

TheRealMe smiles at her. “It’s nice to actually see you in person, Bride4. You don’t get out of Engineering much, these days, do you?”

Jet shrugs. “All my toys are down there.”

TheRealMe turns to face the assembled group. “Thank you all for coming. I would have invited Rat, too, but I think he put himself back into cryo storage, again.”

Jadehand, Jazaf, Jet, Scorpion Regent, Seryn, and Wisp look back at him expectantly.

“It is my belief that those of us in this room are the best on this ship for the skills of mechanic, engineering, and metalworking.” TheRealMe touches a control on his com-link and an image is displayed on a wall, showing a damaged shuttle in the Sereni-Tree’s hanger bay. “Back during our previous peril in orbit over the planet Garrison, our shuttle Admiral Nelson was wrecked well and good. I had considered spacing it, but I have to confess that this particular shuttle has some sentimental value to me and others in the crew. I’m wondering if those of us with special skills and powers can repair this craft? If not, then we’ll be down to only two General Class shuttles, the Lee and the Napoleon. And the Ocean Cloud, too, of course.” He touches another control on his com-link. “I’m making available to you the original specifications on the General Class Shuttle as written up by Montanagirl and Rat, and also the blueprints and schematics that TheGreyJedi used when he actually built them. If you’re willing, please take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks.”

Suddenly, a shudder goes through the Sereni-Tree.

Moments after, Quincey comes on the ship-wide com system. “Ladies and gentlemen, and Cozen too, we have just dropped out of hyperspace over the planet Zanzibar. I’m going to place us in a high orbit until we decide what to do next.”

TheRealMe resumes talking. “Well, it’s not like the shuttle project is a top priority or anything. We also need to consider our plans for liberating one of these fire-breathing space chickens, and how to keep from getting toasted ourselves. Hmmm… We might want to add some different folks for that meeting.”

Wisp returned to his quarters to review the schematics. Schemtaics were great in a Ship Yard with fresh parts on tap but all they had were those from Jets parts Tardis and whatever could be salvaged from The Nelson.

I wonder if theres anything on the planet we could use?? Like a dry dock or a parts manufactuerer?

Wisp activated Serenitrees sensors and began a sweep of the area. An allaince Warning buoy was in orbit-nothing surprising there during the war they left them on most planets to hide there bases. But this one sent across images of devistation and slaughter. And one in particular caught Wisps eye. He printed it and ran to the Meeting room where the warriors were congregating.

"Hey Wisp whats the rush??" Said TRM at his sudden arrival

"Intel. You gotta see this"

It's far from gourmet, but it's fairly tasty. I'll be getting to work on the Nelson in the morning, but tonight I'm all yours.

Wisp Jazaf Seryn Sr and Jet stood in a rough semi circle in the hangar. Jadehand was faffing with a terminal opposite them till a holographic model of the Nelson appeared between them.

"Ok" He said not altering his gaze from the panel "in a minute thisll go all rainbowified with the current situation. Any parts that are on the Nelson and still work are green, any that are broke but weve got spares. If any are Red weve gotta re-design, rebuild or bypass" After more typing the image blinked off then reappeared showing Lots of green some blue and an alarming ammount of red.

"Ok" SR replied to the diagram "Thats not too bad"

Seryn slapped him around the back of the head sharply "Yes it is bad theres far too much red!!!"

"No wait we might be able to fandangle it" Wisp placed his hand inside the model making it flicker "if we divide the ship into parts and we each work on ways to get round our own reds we might be able to fix it"

"How do we divide it then" Jazaf stated rather than asked.

"Well we could do area or Electrics mechanics engines weapons gadets??" Jet interjected into the discusion.

The group pondered silently for a second each persons eyes falling to a different part of the floor.

Eventually All eyes fell on Jadehand who didnt realise for a good few seconds he was being stared at

"Oh so im in charge???"

"Yes" Setyn responded placing her hands on his shoulders from behind in a mock massage "we all take the glory u take the blame"

Jadehand grimaced, and leaned against the nearest console, aiming for inscruitable and wise.

Seryn examined her fingernails for a moment, then butted right on in "I think Jets idea was a good one - and seeing as we have one possibly two bonafide genius engineers here, i think Jet and SR should get started on the engines right away. Wisp has proven an aptitude and skill for weaponry of a gadget inclination, so you and he can probably more than handle those two. And Jazaf and I can divide the fitting of the new componants, tuning the mechanical bits and replacing the electricals.

Well, Jazaf can do the intelligent half of that, i'll do the grunt work, *wiggles her fingers* - i'm a little rusty with anything that can't be fixed with a big hammer and some blue language."

She looked to Jadehand, "Does that sound almost plan like?"

Ack! well, that sounds good Seryn. Just what I would have suggested if I'd had enough time to finish pondering exactly how I got into the hanger bay. Last I recall, I was passed out on my couch. I can start bringing in spare parts and some raw materials that were left over from the construction of Ocean Cloud, There's not much left, but it may help. If we need to, we'll make a run to a nearby planet and get more parts. Maybe we can do some trading on Zanzibar. We really need to keep a better stash of parts here. I might have to liberate us some if we encounter any Alliance outposts.
I'll get the first load of parts up, but I need to run back to the apartment first. I'll be back shortly.

*JadeHand slips on board Ocean Clould and brings out 2 crates of parts and some extra tools. Setting out the supplies as the others begin removing parts that can be salvaged from the Nelson with a little work and stacking up the parts deemed beyond repair. JadeHand returns to his room and finds Mai still asleep on the couch. He cafefully makes sure that she's comfortable and slips a blanket over her. He dims all the lights and turns off the TV. "Mai, I've reported to the hanger bay for work on the Nelson. Thank you for having dinner with me last night. I always enjoy our time together. He leaves the note on the table in front of the couch, walks over to the couch and gently places his hand on the side of her face and

Soon he's back in the Hanger Bay and sorting though the stacks of parts. Removing pieces from the 'complete junk' parts he begins adding them to the 'needs repairs' pieces and redistibuting the parts to the teams for reinstallation.*

Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges

Wisp stepped into the wreckage of the Nelson with a portable scanning device. Sensors were intact but a little outdated, He tried to start a console but as the engines were out that wasnt happening. He walked outside and to his room. He fetched back a wide variety of gizmos and gadgetry that could help in his rucksack.

Upon returning to the hangar Wisp unfolded His chemistry set in a far corner away from the mechanicy section. He rumaged through his bag and pulled out a small fusion reactor and his laptop.

Jadehands diagram showed which parts are broken but with gadgets everything could look fine but it wouldnt work. He needed an internal diagnostic so he needed that console working. He returned to the burnt shell and began hooking up to the charred terminal.

It's alright TRM, I had planned to fix up the Nelson anyway. I need to get it ready for the next time we need it. Also, shuttle work is better than being flame broiled by a chicken. They sound like chocobos. Was this world ever called Ivalice? Maybe we could invite some of the other local critters to join us and breed some warrior animal allies?

*gets back to work dismantling parts, cleaning parts, and reassembling fully functional parts. Now if only there was someone to make yummy Cinnabons for the crew.......*

"They may not have any parts they build themselves, but they have been fighting with the Alliance so there is a chance that they may have ships and smaller craft that they captured, disabled or destroyed. We can possibly barter for the rights to salvage for parts."

After Wisp had torn out the entire weapons and sensor arrays for repairs he was in a bad mood. It was not fun work it was not easy and it did not fill him with Joy.

His eyes fell upon the pile of Debris that was past repair lying at the back of the hangar. While on the planet they couldnt use convensional weapons on the planet because theyd be discovered. But that doesnt mean they needed to just use swords and stuff.

He set up a repair program for the weapons and sensors and while that worked he walked over to the pile of scrap. And began grabbing things that might work in a different way than they had been designed for. After an hours work Wisp had what appeared to be a normal crossbow. Except this crossbow fired bolts that were explosive and the weapon track was as accurate as a pulse rifle.

He put it to one side and returned to replacing the gadetry
