coffee and chocolate makes everything better.

FYI Tristan: there's a little cafe at the Hilton that's not too terribly crowded in the mornings. The croissants are good and so's the coffee. I ate there nearly every morning last year at D*C.

LOL! It's a date!

Now I've gone and given away my secret and the place will be terribly crowded.

Actually, since they moveed the games and stuff to the Hilton, I fear it'll be much more crowded than it was last year. It was kind of quiet and peaceful over there last year.

Just throwing out a reminder that there is still time to sign up for the parade and costume contest. I've seen some of the prizes for the contest and they are very shiny

If you are interested, send an e-mail to sebcparade@gmail.com and include the information listed below:

* Full Name
* Username
* E-Mail Address
* Costume you will wear in the parade (or simply "Original Design" if it is not a character-based costume)
* Whether you plan to march in the parade, enter the costume contest, or both

PS- no pressure

Well, it still sounds like the place to be! Maybe we should have a survivor's breakfast on Saturday or something before the parade...all the costumers from this thread going to D*C meeting in one place to breathe a sigh of relief that it's over?

Is there going to be a browncoat ball this year??
I read over at the SEBC(south east brown coat) site that they were not hosting a ball this year.
something about the dragon-con folks wanting to spread around the wealth in the american sci-fi arena
Anybody know anything different?
If another group is having a shindig and say,2000 browncoats show up,that woudn't be a bad thing,right!

I, like Mai, am rather unfamiliar with that.. mor-ning thing. I spent very little time at the Hilton last year, got my pass there, got lost looking for a party there, not much else. Oh, don't forget, I owe you a Orange Julius Shake thingie. I like the banana ones. I'll be looking for a nice breakfast place too, that buffet at the hyatt is too pricey and worse... too greasy.

35 days and 1 hour til Thurs.

Yes, they have banana flavoured shakes at the Orange Julius, and I owe Serenity a Shake there. Of course If we can get someone to bring a blender for our group we could make some tasty 99 banana flavoured frozen drinks....

Of course, Seryn! Or, we could just send out raiding parties every morning to bring us back croissants and coffee. Then, we wouldn't have to do that annoying "get out of bed and be presentable" thing.

LMD: I bet if you got an orange julius, you could slip some 99 bananas in it and that would be rather tasty. Though, none in mine, thanks. That stuff's like drinking banana flavoured gasoline or something. Whew!

JH: I didn't forget! I've got a list of people who owe me drinks and I plan on making them all pay up!

hey, great idea!

Who here is a morning person? I am most definetly not. On my best days i'm apt to go ghosting it round the rooms (literally white as a sheet and banshee haired)grunting ocaisionally.

It takes at least an hour for me to get living coloured. (though i'm sure having coffee and french pastries placed in my hands will cut that time down considerably!)

I can - rarely - do the horizontal to up showered and out of the door in under ten minutes thing, but the waking up time still stands.

Just to warn y'all.

Hey - two, possibly three women looking for rooms! Fireflygal, are you still looking for roomies? Kentucky, Tennessee, and California represent'n. We're planning on being in town starting August 31 to the bitter end. :D

I'm a morning person, but also
1) a west-coast person
2) an epileptic who has just transitioned to new medications
so without my coffee, I'm technically sentient - and that only because I can operate complex modern devices such as doorknobs even with too much blood in the caffeine stream. (OTOH, break out the camera and start gathering those hilarious 'guh'-morning-face blackmail photos.)

Hmm. Hope they have a lot of tables!

I am one of those odd morning people. However, it involves me going to bed first, and I don't really see that happening that weekend.

Straight, it's a bit different. It has a hint of something I can only describe as "berry-like"...kinda blackberry to my tastes. If you like rum-and-coke style drinks, I highly suggest the Tattoo as an alternative. The berry mixes quite well with the soda, and you taste the rum, but with no harshness.

I taste no harshness with the regular Captain. But I'll give the Tattoo a try. I drank almost an entire 5th of Captain with only about of litre of the Coke (zero). Captain just suits me. Can't wait to try the tatoo though.

Morning, all.
JadeHand, let me know what you think of the Tattoo.

LMD, my brother introduced me to the 99 Bananas bu saying "her, try this" and handing me a shot of it. In his defence, he did tell me to sip it. The first taste is not bad; all banana-y...it's when the aftertaste hits that the eyes cross.

Did everyone else get that little Dragon*Con program thingy in the mail?

It made me think: we have not a shindig this year and it's a shame because our shindig was the shindiggeryest party that year. It was faboo.

I noticed they're having Buffy Prom again. I was there briefly last year and I wasn't impressed. It was rather lame. At least for the 1/2hr I was there.

Anyway, the thinking: Buffy Prom would be less lame if we went. A bunch o' Browncoats crash Prom. Could be fun. Also, Buffy's Whedon, so it's not that far out of our way.

ah well, anything to spend an evening with the 'Coats in some slink.

Important people don't do field work.

The only pirate gear I own is a Barry Bonds Pirates jersey...and, I can wear it if everyone likes...I could even throw an eyepatch on in deference to Nicholas Brendan.

That's about as piratey as I plan on getting.

Because I enjoy irony...

Minus the eyepatch. I've had to wear one for real, and its really lost all its romance for me.
