BOOMERGOODHEART

Hi, all!

My husband & I will be going to D*C again this year, and we'll be bringing some leather lanyards to sell. I've posted on another thread, but this one seems to have more fans...hope you don't mind the intrusion.

For the future, our little company also does leather mugs. We wouldn't be able to finish any before the Con (hubby is working on 3 for Adam, Alan & Summer), but we'd be more than happy to take orders for after. Check out our website at www.legendaryleatherworks.com for pictures of both the lanyards, and a couple of mugs we've made already (the one with the ships goes with my pirate outfit). I can be reached at ali@legendaryleatherworks.com or my cell, 314-974-4268.

Maybe I'll actually meet folks this year. I'm horribly shy, though.... See you on line for the Q&A's!

We’re 3 weeks out from con, and you know what that means. It means I’m here to beg for fan table volunteers. So without further ado, here’s my begging message that you will see everywhere

To volunteer for the table, please send your real name, a contact phone number, and the hours you would like to work to

fan-table AT southeasternbrowncoats DOT org

You will get a confirmation email with your table times and a contact number to call in case you cannot make it. If you do not receive this email within 2 days please email again.

We need volunteers from 8am to 7pm Friday through Sunday and 8am-1pm Monday

We will also happily take in donations of items and funds to help with the table and to give to our charities. Remember, we’re a charity too, so donations are tax deductible.

Thanks,
Serenity (the brunette one)

-as an aside, OMG yes! The Purple Punch was incredible. Glad to see y'all coming back down. And not because of the punch, just because you guys rock

WW, it may not be much, but I will be bringing at least one set of Browncoat buckles for y'all to do with as y'all see fit. I don't know about time yet, but if things do work out, I would love to donate some of that, too. If nothing else, there will probably be times I am hanging out there anyway...I mean, that will be the place to be, right!

Thank you SO much! And I'm hoping it will be the place to be

And so that I don't post right after myself...

Thank you to everyone that has already volunteered! That was quick =) We’re going to put everything into a grid, so to make sure that we get everything right, please, please, please, let us know what specific time slots you would like to work.

We don’t want to schedule people against anything they might want to see. I know the final con schedule isn’t done yet, so we’ll work things out if it turns out you asked for a slot that something you want to see is scheduled in. And just so you know, the BDH panels are scheduled for 1 pm Saturday and 11:30 am Sunday.

Thank you again! You guys prove that Browncoats really are the best.

So pick up your badge, grab a bite to eat, load up your flasks (Please remember that public drunkenness is against the law in GA. If you enjoy, enjoy responsibly ) and come sit a spell and wow your friends and neighbors with your knowledge of the minutia of the Serenifly ‘verse.

I would say.........IT'S ON !

Some other random things, collected from the various posts to this thread:

20 DAYS UNTIL THURSDAY !!!!!

I am completely down for some Mudder's Milk action, both the preparation and consumption of, and the mugs sound cool too.

This being my first Con ever, I am really looking forward to meeting a lot of shiny browncoats and being confused as to where I am.

The purple punch sounds intriguing, I would be interested in helping with the production thereof, if need be. (materials costs and whatnot).

I plan to have a large bottle of Jack in my room if anyone needs a flask refill.

I won't be in the parade or anything, though I will be watching, but to the 501st (apologies if I got the number wrong).

so aside from not knowing whats going on when, i'm not even sure if i'd be able to do it.

The fan tables are just that...tables set up around an area where various fan groups have their stuff. Last year (I believe) they were in the Marriott...?

You can always check out www.dragoncon.org for more info on where stuff will be. You may need to do some serious looking, but it should all be there.

Can't wait!

For the parade and our Serenifly costume contest, you can email sebcparade@gmail.com with your name and costume (i.e.Zoe, Wash, original character) Let them know if you want to be in the parade, the costume contest, or both. The deadline for us to tell D*C how many we had was August 1st. But don't worry about that, they alwasy have extra ribbons. We'll just want to know how many to grab

If you were asking about the big official D*C Masquerade, I have no idea, sorry.

And the SEBC also has descriptions and pictures for all of the items we will be auctioning at the table. You can see them here http://www.southeasternbrowncoats.org/auctions.htm

Ok, the way it worked last year was this: Fan tables were outside of the ballrooms, kind of ringing the elevators in the Marriott. There were 2 ballrooms that handled dealer stuff. One was in the same area as the Walk of Fame (where you can meet the actors & get sigs @ $20/pop), the other was in one of the bigger ballrooms. There are dealers that sell boardgames, tshirts, dice, books, collectibles...you name it, it's probably there.

Now, this year, they've moved the Walk of Fame to errmmm....the Hyatt, I think? One of the other hotels. They key is to take a deep breath and don't freak out. There are plenty of Dragon*Con people around that will help you find your way, maps of the various hotels, and TONS of friendly Browncoats willing to lend a hand.

Just enjoy the experience (even the getting lost parts)!

Good morning!

I have final locations for our costume events.

The Parade - All participants in our parade group can meet at the Hyatt bar Saturday morning. We will leave the bar as a group at 8:30am to make our way to the parade staging area. This will make it easy for people to find the group, get ribbons, etc.

The Costume Contest - We will have the contest in the upper lobby of the Marriott. It is the lobby with the large seating area where the parade pictures were taken last year. I don't remember if it is one or 2 levels up from the main lobby, but we will post it at the table Friday morning. Please come by to double check.

Just thought I would give anyone interested a heads up. I will have Firefly t-shirts and Firefly posters of Mal, Inara and River for sale this year. Figure the River pictures will be shiny since Summer will be there at the con this year.

Anyone interested can PM me or look me up at the con.

Hello all,

Two years ago I attended Dragon Con, and I will be able to attend this year. So please add my name to the list. I will stop by the fan table and introduce myself.
So as having been away from my computer, I am asking to be updated on any events being held. Shindigs, other shiny things. Thank you, Thank you!

Ok, it took some arm twisting, but I finally found out where I will be sleeping...the Marriott Marquis, along with 6 other people in the same room. I'm just hoping the beds are big! I'll be arriving late Friday (@8:00PM), so I'll miss a lot of the shiny happenings during the day. I think Pirate night is Friday, so I may have to figure out where to meet up with y'all so we may go a raidin'! Arrhh!
Anyone know how big the rooms at the Marriott are? I'm just trying to figure out how seven people and all the costumes are going to fit into one place...
