After a number of peril-less threads, it was time to get back into some good, old-fashioned peril. But we didn’t want to jump right in. We sort of wanted to ease our way into it. So, we became aware of the group of SCA members, fantasy role-players, and new age mystics who founded their own colony on the world of Zanzibar. These Zanzibarbarians have turned their backs on technology, and get by with Renaissance Faire level technology. However, in the absence of technology and horses, they have bred a local flightless bird into a fearsome riding beast for their knights. Moreover, some recent developments have these creatures breathing fire! These are essentially giant fire-breathing space chickens!

For some reason that escapes me, we have decided that we want to obtain one or more of these creatures. Jake7 then volunteered that, among her super-powers, she has the innate ability to confuse chickens! Also, LightMeDark will be useful in talking to them, if we can keep him sober enough.

We undertook a jump through hyperspace lasting a few days to reach the planet of Zanzibar.

Wisp decided to augment his body with techno-bits to grant himself superpowers. He now has gills, super-sight, and some kind of magnetic lifting power in his arms.

A group of our engineers and mechanics, including Jadehand, Wisp, Jet, and Seryn, repaired our shuttle Admiral Nelson, which had been damaged back during our last bit of peril. Meanwhile, TheRealMe crafted a small herd of robotic giant space chickens for our use once we got on the planet. Seryn took time off from repairs to make us all period costumes. After loading up with medieval level weapons, we are about ready to go!

The people that I recall having expressed an interest in going on this adventure are: Jake7, LightMeDark, Mai, Seryn, TheRealMe, ScorpionRegent, Wisp, and XanderLHarris/Ash.

From what I guess, staying behind are the Yeti, the Faeries, the Brides (including Serenity), and (presumably) Ghost, Shadow, and Doctor SimonWho.

I’m not sure about 13, Cozen, Jadehand, SoulofSernity, or anybody else who may have recently come out of cryo.

This is a very well made costume, and quite beautiful, but I'm feeing like I'm going to end up with a "wardrobe malfunction"...

"TRM ur robo chickens best not excrete any spare parts on the new shuttle. Shes all shiny and youll have to clean them up" Wisp pulled some more buttons and pushed some levers and a hum came from the new engines

"ALL ABOARD for the Zanzibar express!! The Meal for your flight is Bangers and Mash and the inflight movie is something called Serenity. Now take your seats and prepare for some thrilling heroics"

TheRealMe overturns a pouch, dropping a small shower of gold and silver pieces and a few small gems.

Wisp gently eased the shuttle in reverse before makning a wide turn to face the planet. The entry into the atmosphere was smooth and without incident and all of the new technologies worked fine.

They landed on a shallow bluff overlooking a glacial valley. Below them were miles and miles of rivers and farmlands. A small village could be seen made of ramshackle houses with a stone church at one end and a waterwheel. There were several other villages like this but in the distance was a huge placial stone fortress.

Jadehand looks to Mai and says
"Although that boy has a great brain he rarely uses it to think"

Wisp rolls into town on his feathery steed without causing anyone to bat an eyelid. He spots the local bar with several other poultry outside. These werent the fire breathing kind they were trying to liberate just normal mounted fowl.

Walking inside he found a cabaret show and a well stocked bar. He walked up to the bar first and nodded. He waited for the bar tender to speak so he could confirm the language of the planet.

"hulloo i aint seen u aboot where yooo froom??" The language appeared to be canadian.

"Nooo Im neeewww, Ill have a whisky" Wisp turned from the bar and scanned the area with his Xray vision. He found just about everyone in the bar was carrying a sword although none of them wore extensive armour.

He relaxed and settled in to watch the show.

Wisp approached a young girl at the end of the bar. She was beautiful. The bottle of whisky didnt alter this fact although made her a little blurry round the edges.

Wisp rembered SR's words and knew a drunken bafoon would not win him a piece of this fine ass. He reached into his bag and extracted a small vial with a large 'D' On the bung. He quickly drank it down and quivered for a second. This was Wisps rapid detox-soberifier. Couldnt cure a hangover but would make you completely sober for 48 hours. The you would experience a very drunken state for four hours and a comatose state for another 4 and then you would have a hangover for 40. But this was worth it.

In his new sober state he approached the girl aged roughly 20 with mucky blond hair and ragged clothes. She appeared to be a local farm girl who must have a very important heritage to be allowed to drink in this bar.

"Good day mi lady" Wisp spoke doffing his hat "I was wondering of youd do me the honour of letting me buy you a drink"

"No drink but i'll lift my skirt for you round the back" Thankyou SR i could have done that after 3 bottles.

Wisp left with the girl there and then. and returned an hour later (the boy has stamina) to find another naughty girl to corrupt further.

"I could be a companion he said pouring another drink"

As TheRealMe rides into the village on his robotic space chicken, he takes note of Wisp's wild successes and realizes that this must be a fantasy world after all!

He meets some locals on the town's dirt road. He tips his hat. "Huzzah!"

THEREALME


After the embarrasing encounter with the local townsfolk, TheRealMe (and anyone with him.. Jake7? Mai? Jadehand? Anyone?) head to a local tavern, tie up their robotic mounts, and head inside. They order turkey legs and ale, and sit back to observe the scene. Wisp re-enters the tavern with one young woman and immediately departs with another.

"Huh. Wisp seems to have quite a bit of stamina. Then again, we know that he used a number of super-scientific bionic implants to augment many of his... uh... physical abilities."

"No drink but i'll lift my skirt for you round the back" Thankyou SR i could have done that after 3 bottles.

Wisp left with the girl there and then. and returned an hour later (the boy has stamina) to find another naughty girl to corrupt further.

"I could be a companion he said pouring another drink"

Wisp propped himself up at the Bar trully knackered. The girls were VERY worldly. He had to use his most high class lines on most of them. And he couldnt brag about his brains because on this planet knowin the planets round is the sign of a genious.

He looked over to the door as a monk entered. He was old school, Brown robes bald head white beard. Behind him were some more girls so he decided to Xray past him and check them out. However on the way through his body he spotted somthing interesting.

Strapped to the monks chest beneath his robes was a 9mm automatic.

"Thats interesting" Wisp walked over to TRMs table and sat down

"Finished yet??"

"Ish but we have something stranger than fire breathing chickens to deal with"

well I would assume that based on the general..... wait..... riding the Chicken whilst drunk? or riding a drunken chicken? How would you get the chicken drunk? does it stumble side to side? Should we try that?

Well as for an answer to your deep philosophical question. Which came first the chicken or the alcohol? I mean .... Ummm. I don't know what I mean. I think that one would regret feeding alcohol to a fire chicken since the alcohol is flammable! Cause I don't know about you, but I don't wanna explode!
Speaking of that, what exactly is this drink anyway, its such an "interesting" flavor. I'm almost afraid to ask.
